A crash sounded to his acute hearing, and the Viscount noted the direction with a flash of his eyes. Moving silently, he stepped down the many stairs to the front gates, and then slipped into his forest. Instead of walking at a normal pace, Jozsef relied on the unnatural powers that he had acquired.... many years ago, and swiftly came to a stop behind the form of a young woman. She was the one that was bleeding, the scent of it was thick in the air- or perhaps that was just the hunger speaking. He studied the young woman. She looked pale, fatigued. She wouldn't make a good meal. He nearly sighed in disappointment, and instead stepped forward, purposefully stepping on a twig and snapping it. The sound shot through the air sharply, cutting into the silence of the night and wounding the peace. He paused, to see if she would perhaps turn.

Eva, hearing the branch snap, turned around quickly. Though she was tired, she'd attack if she were going to be attacked if needed. Of course she'd probably loose, but not without a fight. She looked up to see a shadowed figure.

"You really... shouldn't be out here." His voice started to come out gravely from under use, and he paused for a moment, clearing his throat. Stepping into the light of the moon, he stared down at the young woman. She was indeed young, barely past her teen years he could assume, no... still in them. "There are many creatures in this forest that would love to have a young woman like yourself as a midnight snack." His voice was smoother now, more like it had been years ago. Smooth, deep, with a hint of a foreign accent just barely roughening up his speech.

"I...i'm sorry. I was trying to find my way out, but i'm lost as you can see" she said looking up at him. Her eyes showed she knew what he ment by creatures. She attempted to hide the marking on her hand, knowing that because of it she had been kicked out, and even beaten out of many places.

Jozsef sighed, crouching down so that they were at eye level and so he wasn't nearly as intimidating. "Where are you from?" He studied her clothing and took from it that she had been out in the woods for a while, stranded. But why had she been stranded? She was young and looked healthy but for her exhausted look right now. She didn't look as if she was pregnant, so she couldn't have gotten beaten away because of an illegitimate child. "Why are you out here alone?" The Viscount added concerned tones to his voice, soothing slightly so she wouldn't be afraid. There was nothing more troublesome to deal with than a hysterical woman.

"I uh...I was out exploring the land. I went by myself because nobody wanted to go with me" She said covering her mark more. She'd made the mistake of saying she was exiled from her village before, there were scars on her that'll remind her never to say that again.

The Viscount studied her expression, her face, her movements. "You were out exploring the land this late at night?" He didn't bother to tell her that there were no villages close enough for her to have gotten this far in one day. She would've had to be traveling for a long time to reach his estate.

Eva nodded. "Yeah, I was trying to find some place to go, but I couldn't, so I kept going" She said, which was the truth. She looked at his eyes, mentally smiling. She thought his eyes were a beautiful color, though, any eye color compared to her own were beautiful she thought.

"I see..." He paused, and then continued. "Although it is improper for me to do so, I would like to offer you a place to stay for the night." Customs were very hard to abide by, especially when he wasn't sure where a person was from. In that time though, a woman being offered a place in a man's home would be quite... suggestive. "I have maids that can keep you company if you wish to not be alone, and I give you my word that I will not compromise your integrity." He slowly held out his hand for hers. "If you think you can trust me, please come with me."

She gulped. The hand he held out required her to take it by the hand with the mark. She was quite nervous to show him the mark, thinking he'd cast her away like everyone else. "O...okay" she said in a soft voice. She was oblivious to the fact that she was holding tightly onto her hand.

"I do not bite, miss." Jozsef smiled, his hand still offered to her, waiting for her to take it. She seemed nervous about something. It really was none of his concern what she was worried about, but he really wished to get back to his mansion so he could find something to eat. He would be going without blood, of course, but something of some kind of sustenance would be good for the both of them. Perhaps some meat of some sort, and maybe some sweet cakes.

She gulped again and took his hand, pretending as if the mark wasn't on her hand, hoping he wouldn't notice, but it was pretty easy to spot concidering that the moon shone down excatly where her hand was. She had the worst of luck at times like this. Her grasp was gentle, yet it had a firmness to it.

When he took her hand, he clearly saw the mark on it, and he nearly grew dark with rage. The Viscount held it in as he stood, pulling her with him gently. For the creatures known as humans to do such a thing to one of their own... he would never understand it. They were brutal and insensitive beings, and he found himself glad to not be one of them again. She had the mark of a witch, she was cast out of her town and likely had been thrown out of others as well- just because of a simple mark because of the superstitious fools. His voice was deep and quiet, a low rumble though it wasn't unkind. "You needn't worry, I will not spurn you from my home."

Eva had tensed up when he helped her stand, afraid he was going to attack. She tensed up more seeing he spotted her mark. When he said he wouldn't kick her out she relaxed, but not too much. "B...but i've been cast with the mark of a witch.....and yet you won't cast me away....you won't beat me to leave....you won't set me on fire so i'll be gone from this earth?" she asked a fear in her eyes.

Jozsef snorted, sounding very uncivilized for a moment as he obviously considered the things she suggested as preposterous. "Why would I do that? Because some frightened pig-herders decided that you were too smart to be normal?" He fixed his gaze upon her, staring at her with no expression until he shrugged nonchalantly and turned away. "I have no reason to turn you away, beat you off or burn you, nor do I have the resources to waste to do so." He stared off into the forest for a moment, lost in his own thoughts before speaking again. "No, I will not turn you from my home. Everyone has their own cross to bear, I would be a hypocrite if I were to turn you away after I have offered you lodging." The man turned back to her, "Will you accept my offer?"
