Well, I'm not fond off the Assassin one, I don't really need guns for my avatar... not fond of guns anyways, Unless they shot happiness and love =O And with the Masterpiece, I kind of feel ripped off by it, because it looks like they just took items they already had and Van Gough'd them up.

I don't think Gaia is encouraging anything. Anything, no matter what it is, has the potential to be a dangerous or deadly weapon. Even come as incongrous as a sweater can kill via strangulation or smothering. Just because Gaia brought out guns does not necessarily mean they are promoting war. Guns have a bad reputation surrounding them, but really, they are the same as a sword. Why would you protest against a gun if a sword is okay? Both of them can be used for evil, and both of them can be used for good - yet somehow, a sword is alright and a gun isn't?
It's not the items that we have, it's what people choose to do with them. The police force carries guns with them at all times, and they make responsible, informed decisions about the use of them. In that scenario, guns are okay. So I don't believe Gaia is promoting war or death or killing or violence or any of that stuff. I think the guns are just a harmless item that will make a lot of people happy to have.
Tell it, sister! :]
I couldn't have said it any better myself. ;D

i luuurve the masterpiece one. i totally want it, but i'm not allowed to buy mc's, and i don't have much gold. the assassin one might make a purdy good outfit, but it's not really that great of an item. i absolutely agree with what chibi said about the weapon thing. >w<

For the masterpiece, I only like the David skin thingo. And the guns...they look funny when I put them on.

yeah, i have to agree with previous users that don't have an objection to this month's collectibles. as other users have stated, one has to wonder why there were no strong objections to previous weapons like swords and knives, however, there is a strong objection to guns. it seems almost hypocritical, or at the very least a noticeable double standard, to state objections now over items that may be viewed as violent, but raise absolutely no objections to the previous weapons like swords and knives that can be viewed as just as violent. seriously, the latest weapon item was a machete dripping blood, but somehow guns are supposed to be viewed as more violent and inappropriate?
it also seems strange that this strong objection is over fake pixel items, almost as if gaia was actually handing out real guns out to children and promoting violence. under this type of reasoning, water pistols or action figures with toy guns (ex. g.i. joe) can be removed from toy stores and childhood playtime activities because of a perceived possible threat they might possess. since these items are fake, they cannot actually cause any damage or be used in a violent manner, therefore gaia is still a safe environment for all ages.
i actually like the gallery piece, mainly because a couple of those items can be used on some of my avatars. however, i don't like assassin's item, not because it contains weapons/guns, but because i think it is absolutely hideous. the guns look large, bulky and awkward, the clothing items that come with the same item do not seem worthy of being part of a monthly collectible, and i have absolutely no clue what that assassin's eye is supposed to be, but it looks incredibly idiotic nonetheless. really, who thought an entire avatar disappearing with the exception of a remaining red ribbon was a good idea? again not quality standard for a monthly collectible. i don't know who designed that item, but i was hoping that since there was a high demand for gaia to produce modern weapons like guns, that a bit more effort would have been placed into creating these items. unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case, and i have to state that i am definitely disappointed in that item.
