Raising a raven eyebrow as the blond lass smirked down at them, he couldn't help himself as a soft, barely audible sigh issued forth from his lips at the dramatic tone. So she was a player of a game too, was she? Perhaps not the same one as he and Moira were accustomed to, but a game nonetheless. And games could be learned on the fly, so Shane set himself to paying better attention to both lasses, and not focusing solely on the one. When Lokiari leaned down closer to them, his head dipped back just a little, not quite having been prepared for her to get up close and personal.
"Well, lass, blushing is usually a way to show when one has been embarassed." Glancing over at Moira, he gave a small, sheepish grin before adding, "And it is embarassing to find you've had a voyeur watching close when you're having a bit of a picnic to yourselves." Having attempted to put on his most reasonable, adult like tone, he hoped it would pass in this silly game the lass seemed to be playing.
Unable to resist as he watched in amusement as Moira played the game right back. Ah, but she was good with games, it seemed! Oddly proud of her, though she grinned at his blushing, he was pleased to have found such a strong lass to fall for. Finding his head bobbing in agreement as he concurred wholeheartedly with Moira's suggestion of other interesting things being about. That is, until she bandied about the lasses in the kitchen.
Putting on a dramatic air, he sighed and clutched at his chest, completely at ease with Moira even if he wasn't with Lokiari, "Ah, lass, you wound me with your words!" With a mischievous grin, he leaned in close to her before adding, "Besides, there are more fun lasses to bother now." A small hint of a blush painted his cheeks as he recalled Lokiari towering above them from her spot in the snow.
Did she intend on standing there all day, or was she going to move off and find something else to interest herself with?

Catching the wince on Moira's face with her ever sharp eyes, she chuckled when the girl impishly rolled her eyes at her. When the girl added her innocent claims, she concluded she'd let her think she was a simple recruit for a while longer. It did provide her with private amusements, if nothing else. Though if the girl got too annoying or boisterous, she'd be more than happy to put her in her place. And quickly, too.
At the sheepish mutterings, Loki raised an eyebrow as if not believing a word of it. A small amused smile tugging at her lips at the irritation that sounded in Moira's voice, she knew the girl had every right to be agitated, but that didn't stop it from amusing her. Giving an elaborate shrug, she sighed, "Not necessarily, relationships between people tend to be some of the more fascinating things around." While not entirely true, Moira certainly didn't have to know that, not yet at least. People, in and of themselves, were more than fascination enough for Lokiari.
When the girl threw in a teasing smirk at Shane, Lokiari's eyes followed over to the Irishman, amused by what she both saw, and heard.
Nodding politely as he told her the truth, she grinned, "True enough, though I wasn't purposefully watching you. I merely stumbled upon your little picnic, set up so haphazardly in the midst of the snowy gardens." Granted, it looked very carefully set up indeed, but teasing a little now and then couldn't hurt, now could it? When he clutched at his heart, Lokiari let out a laugh, the man was entertaining, if nothing else. Good with words, too, by the looks of it.
Unwilling to resist inquiring into their relationship, she set her eyes on Moira before kneeling down to be at their eye level, hating to make them crane their necks longer than necessary.
"So I take it you two have been a couple for a while? Or at least, long enough to be comfortable with each other?"
A person could only contain their curiosity for so long before they burst. Or, that'd be her excuse if they asked.

Moira listened to the two converse idly, watching Lokiari moreso than Shane. She had all the time in the world to watch Shane, after all. When Lokiari mentioned the picnic set up in the snow, she grinned sheepishly. "I just couldn't resist dragging our resident Irishman out into cold weather to pester." She said dryly, nodding solemnly. She'd seen the tease in the way she described the picnic, but after having tried to pass off the careful setup as haphazard herself... well. She couldn't blame her, y'know.
Moira's eyes went wide, and she covered her mouth, laughing behind her hands at Shane's dramatic reply. A small blush dotted its way across her face, and she rolled her eyes at him just as dramatically, sighing. "And should I be jealous of these lasses, ragazzo?" She asked, arching an eyebrow at him and trying so hard to look serious about it.
The serious facade was gone when she heard Lokiari laugh at the display. Moira scooted back when Loki knelt down to join their little group, moving so that Loki wouldn't have to kneel in the snow. They were all comrads here, if nothing else, and it was only polite. The question, however, threw Moi for a loop. She blinked, and looked over at Shane.
"I think..." She began with a sheepish grin. "That Shane and I are... well. I know I'm usually comfortable around everyone, after a little while..." She was beating around the bush, because really, how did one answer that question? At least, without possibly offending Shane. She looked over at Shane again. "I don't know if we're... well." This was a horrible time to ask such a question, but Loki had thrown it out there.
"What do you think, Shane?" Oh yes, she was bouncing the question over to him.

Bright blue eyes flashed briefly from one lass to the other before giving a dramatic eye roll at the one sitting nearest him on their table cloth. A teasing smirk touched his lips as he winked at the one who had knelt near them and he gave a large shrug, "Oh, I don't know, lass. Anything is possible." Though he winced inwardly at how serious that had come out sounding, his face made no show of it except perhaps the slight twitch of an eye as he realized that he might upset Moira. Especially if she had been asking in seriousness, and the Italian lass wasn't someone he really wanted to get mad, he had a feeling she would scrap with him about as hard as the boys back home would if he got her riled up enough.
The charming Irishman was also caught off guard when Lokiari asked if he and Moira were an item, and he quickly began to wonder if they were, or if they were still simply playing the game. Hoping Moira would answer as he heard her start to speak, he watched her carefully as she spoke, a soft blush touching his own cheeks as she stuttered a little. In a way, Shane was surprised that his Moira was unable to come up with a quick answer, and he quickly realized that it was because she was, for once, unsure.
And what did that make him?
He still wasn't sure if she was playing him, or if they both felt the same for each other...much as he hated to admit it, he was confused about what they were. Obviously, on some level she cared...right?
Even as his mind began to twirl with the possibilities, he heard Moira throw the question at him, and with a look reminiscent of a deer caught in the head lights of a vehicle, his first reaction was to shrug, before looking the lass next to him in the eyes and muttering, to his dismay, "I honestly don't know, lass."
With that answer, Shane gave a more visible wince, before shooting a glower of distaste at Lokiari. What a position she had put the two in! Just who was she to question them, anyway, now that he thought about it?
Ah well, too little too late to make it sound quick and witty. He'd have to bring that up at an inopportune moment for Lokiari, to win back some points with Moira, at the least, for he was fearful he'd upset the lass he'd been working hard at winning over.

Noting how closely she was being watched by the Italian girl, Lokiari threw her a wide grin that could have been taken as a wolf's grin, or a friend one of camaraderie. Loki left it up to Moira to decide which it was, the woman could decide for herself what to think of her, and it didn't bother her too much one way or the other if she thought she was an annoying pest, or a teasing friend. Bemused as Moira's look took on a slightly more embarrassed look, Loki's grin grew broader, so the picnic had been carefully planned then, as she'd initially thought! This made things so much more interesting.
Well. In some way it did, she was sure. Loki was bored and was determined to find something interesting to amuse herself with. One way or another.
Another soft chuckle escaped from the Norwegian's lips as she caught the smirk on the Irishman's lips, and the way he so dramatically and seriously dropped that he didn't know if Moira were to be worried or not about the kitchen lasses. Just barely catching the way his eye twitched, the broad grin dropped into an amused smile, as she turned her attention closely to Moira. Just what would the woman think of that?
And, as Shane drove on, in obvious discomfort and dismay, Lokiari almost felt sorry for asking if they were an item. While it was obvious to her that they both liked one another and appeared to be a couple, it appeared that it was not so obvious to either of them. Sitting back on her heels, she resisted the urge to clap the Irishman on the back when he winced after answering that he didn't know, and she let her eyes roll, just a little.
How could two people so that so clearly liked one another, not recognize it? With a light shrug, Lokiari moved to stand up, she felt like she'd pushed a little too much on an initial meeting, and she gave an apologetic wave.
"If you two would like, I can leave you to your intimate picnic?" Pausing only momentarily, she gave a quick grin, "And I apologize for throwing awkwardness into what must have already been a slightly awkward situation for you two." As she moved to stretch her legs after crouching for a while, she threw a wink at Moira and Shane, figuring the two must be wondering who she was, but unable to resist one more teasing remark.
"Don't worry, I'm sure by the end of the night, you two will have figured out if you're together, or not."

Moira's lip twitched in response to his large shrug, but that was the only real display of emotion, she kept her face perfectly stoic. Oh, that was a good feeling to have, Shane. Moira had been brought up knowing how to defend herself, though she didn't attack unprovoked. Of course, Hell Hath no fury like a woman pissed off... Loki had all but been forgotten while she'd waited for Shane's answer. The previous statement had, of course, riled her a bit, but the question that she'd asked was the important one. It was one of The Questions, the ones that you had to ask yourself before getting into a serious whatever with someone. That and if they had any outstanding warrants that either of them should be aware of. But that wasn't a question so much as an innocent inquiry. One need only live with a rebel to know how to avoid getting caught.
His Moira hadn't been able to come up with an answer, and really, now that she thought of it, it sort of bothered her. why couldn't she just coyly throw back a question at Lokiari, to make her forget that she'd asked at all? Or say something witty that didn't answer the question at all. Instead, she'd thrown it to Shane. Whether or not the Irishman knew it, she had her heart offered out to him, and it was making her heart and her head argue. The only fact they seemed to agree on was that Moira should Run, but one could not get up and run away from a picnic without looking odd, right? Right.
As soon as his answer had been heard, Moira winced almost simultaneously with Shane. She didn't glower, however. Moira simply glanced at Lokiari, and smiled smoothly. "There you have it. We're not quite sure." Which meant that, in the course of everything, they hadn't really gotten much farther then Square One. It was daunting, and kind of scary. Moira wasn't sure what to think of it, only that it worried her quite a bit. How blind was the man, did she have to go about in little more then a corset and slip to get his attention? Honestly.
Moira grinned a little at Lokiari, and shrugged. "You didn't make it any more awkward then it would've gotten eventually." And while that sounded off, somehow, it was true. Eventually, one of them would have asked the same question, either to themselves or to the other, and they would've found themselves in a similar situation. Similar in that the question was the same, unique in that they'd have time to talk it out. Although, with Lokiari taking her leave, Moira figured they could probably talk things out there.
"I'm sure we'll see you around, Lokiari." Moira smiled at her, and her smile grew a little. "I certainly hope you're right." If not, there had to be something wrong in the picture.

His eyes continued to flicker between the two women he found himself in a poor position with, as Shane grew a little more uncertain with each passing second on just who this Lokiari was and why she was bothering them, and what Moira thought of all of this -- and him. Most importantly, what she thought of him. And his answer. Or terrible lack thereof. Somehow, Shane had a feeling he'd just said the wrong answer. One he'd given only out of fear of saying the wrong thing and making Moira think he thought more of a relationship she perhaps felt less of.
Really, there was no way for him to remedy that, and so when Moira more or less dismissed Lokiari, he raised a hand to have her hold off, before inquiring, in a more than bothered tone of voice, "Who are you, anyway, to intrude upon a private picnic and bother the participants, lass?" While it wasn't really in his nature to grow irate for simple questions being asked, he felt as though he'd lost face before the girl that he rather held dear to his heart and was desperate for a way to get it back, as small or stupid as it might seem.

At the response of both Moira and Shane, Lokiari rocked back a little on her heels, feeling that perhaps their relationship was only just beginning. That they might be just now testing out the waters, to see if it was warm enough to dive in and take a swim. Pursing her lips in thought as she listened only vaguely to Moira's slightly terse sounding response, she gave a small shrug. In her mind, if they didn't really know how they felt for one another, they wouldn't be out in the middle of a snowing garden in order to have a romantic picnic. Granted, after Shane's response, Lokiari couldn't help but wonder if he even fully realized that Moira had thrown a romantic picnic, just for him.
As much as that thought amused her, when Moira mentioned she'd see her around, Lokiari grinned at her, knowing full well that was serving as a dismissal. It meant she was to get out of their sights so they could salvage whatever they might of their get together. With a nod and a wink for the woman, she began to step away, only to be stopped by the confused Irishman. A shrug lifted her shoulders and the grin she'd had just a moment before returned with a vengeance as she happily responded, "I'd be an elite here at Lotus."
Another wink and the Norwegian woman did a proper about face before walking off, just barely resisting the urge to laugh out loud at the couple that wasn't sure if they were a couple that she was leaving behind. Making a mental note to herself, Lokiari concluded she'd have to keep an eye on those two, perhaps dip her hands into the affair if necessary to help Moira get it into Shane's thick skull about just what was going on.
Now that would be some fun!
