Kisala giggled, hugging Iggy back, "I know right?! I can reach the bookshelf by myself and everything now!" she was obviously quite proud of this pronouncement, though Shiori seemed to pale a bit at the memory.
The woman bowed in greeting to the newcomers, "It seems the time is now come. For those who've just arrived, I'd like to make sure you're aware that the monks and I will be about the Temple and will help to keep an eye on children. If you need or want to leave for any reason, feel free."
She looked at the clock to make certain, and pulled out a large box, and a small silver key, "I have here the first of your clues. This will lead you to a second clue, then a third, and so on. When you reach the end, you -may- keep whatever prize or prizes you find. Feel free to work in groups, or by yourself."
She pulled out a few tiny scrolls of paper, each secured with a ribbon around the middle, "Who's first?" She eyed Kisala, letting the girl know without words that she was -not- by any means allowed to be first.

"Well..." Shade said, glancing around as no one volunteered. "If you don't mind me borrowing Wisp, I could take the two little guys with me, Ms. Beatrix?" he offered, seeing as Wisp was attached to his thigh. "I'm sure Antony would rather go with his friends."
Antony nodded, smiling at Delilah and Ignacio.
"Including Jace," Shade added, earning a slightly reluctant nod.

Jace smirked: she liked Shade, and was pleased when her mother gave the dark-skinned man a gracious nod. "I don't mind at all," Beatrix said. "I more than trust you. - In that case, I might get home and put on some laundry; I'll come back in half an hour, anyway, as leaving two toddlers with you is fairly unkind."
With a sightless expression to Jacoba that meant be good, Beatrix nodded to Shiori and made her way back out of the temple.

Delilah waited until Dr. Darnell was out of sight before stepping closer to Antony. She glanced at him for instruction but then, getting nothing, she extended her hand to take one of the scrolls. "Thank you, ma'am," she murmured. The paper was light in her hands and she touched the ribbon with a dainty finger. "These are the instructions?"

Happy to see someone else go first, Irelia stepped forward to retrieve her copy. Unraveling the scroll, Irelia turned and smiled at Jace.
"You remember that? Whoa. I totally forgot about that, though I'm sure you weren't completely blameless, if my memory serves correctly."
Irelia smiled with an evil glint in her eye.
"Want to gang up on Anthony and the other girls?"

((Okay, so here's how this'll work. There are 20 rooms in the Temple, and there are 5 outdoor locations. Please state your location when/if you leave the main area each time you post in a sort've OOC comment. Something like [Garden] or something like that, so everyone knows where everyone else is, etc. Then, when you're looking for something that's hidden, just make sure you bold where you're searching-- something like Behind the door and I'll make a post to let you know if/what you found. <3
Rooms: Library (books and tables/desks) Shrine (worship area) Study (Artist's area) Office (all the administrative type stuff goes on here) Dojo (martial arts training area, will have a weapon closet, but you shouldn't be able to get into it) Kitchen (cooking supplies, etc, typical big kitchen for serving multiple people) Cafeteria (no chairs, though, just tables and floormats) Bathroom (...er, duh?) and the rest will be bedrooms, just numbered according to what side/location, (so, when you're in a bedroom on the left side, just say [Room L1] or whatever,) there should be 6 rooms on either side.
Outdoor locations: Gardens Pond Front Entrance (rock gardens) Back Entrance (artist's area) Storage Shed
Most of these are pretty generically temple-esque as far as descriptions go. The garden has a big circle in the middle around the fountain and four pathways leading in all directions out of it.))
Shiori handed Kisala her scroll after a couple others had had a turn-- hers was a bit different from the others, Shiori had made it more difficult to understand because she knew the Temple itself so much better than the others. It wouldn't have been fair, otherwise.
The girl squeaked in indignation, realizing it the moment she opened the scroll and eyed her mother angrily, but set about deciphering just what it meant.
((The others' scrolls should read: A golden lion will be your goal, if you wish to find the treasure old. ))

The same cruel glint was echoed in Jace's own eyes. "Heck yes," she said. The two of them kicking everyone else's asses? She was so into that. It wasn't as though Antony wanted her around anyway! "Let's do it. Open that sucker up."

Delilah glanced briefly at Jace and Irelia as if wondering why the sudden competition. Then she shrugged lazily and undid the ribbon before carefully unrolling the paper. A small wrinkle appeared between her eyebrows as she looked at the words. Then she turned a bit so Antony and Ignacio could look as well. "A golden lion will be your goal if you wish to find the treasure old?" she read dubiously. "A real lion or just a painted lion?"
"I dunno. I always thought lions were kind of goldeny color anyway," Ignacio replied. Then he looked betwee Antony and Kisala and visibly hesitated. "Um, hey, maybe I should go with Kisa 'cause she doesn't have a partner and that's not really fair. That be okay, Antony?"

Antony blinked, realizing he had to make a choice here. He could tell Iggy to go with Delilah so he could learn more about Kisala, or he could go with Delilah and let Iggy--who had already hugged the other girl--go with Kisala...
But he was on very good terms with Delilah. So... he thought calmly, keep the princess you know or make a play for the one you don't and chance losing both?
There was no question. "That's fine, Ignacio. I'm sure Delilah wouldn't mind being my partner, would you?" he asked her.
"Whazzit say?" Chris said, looking at the paper. "If youuuu..."
"It says we're looking for a golden lion," Shade said easily. "So shall we, kiddos?"

Kisala giggled, hearing the others speak their clues out loud. Well, she knew where -that- was! But she didn't want to ruin the game for them, so she wasn't going to tell them. Her own clue was different and probably didn't lead to the golden lion.
"Aw, Iggy, you don't have to if you don't want to. S'up to you," she told the puppy-like boy, "But I wouldn't mind having a partner. But I can do it by myself, too."

"No way!" Ignacio grinned and stepped closer to Kisala. "I'm totally with you. Anyway," he added softer, "Del thinks I'm too loud." If this was true or simply something to make the brunette feel better, it did not seem to matter to the boy one way or another. So what if someone so quiet thought he was loud? He was loud!

"H'okay!" Kisala unrolled the scroll again and showed it to him: Red and Orange, Greens and Blues, for the pot of gold, a Rainbow will do.
She scratched her head, "Only, I can't think of anywhere in the temple that's got rainbows in it."

Ignacio wrinkled his nose in thought. He even went so far as to lift a hand and scratch at the back of his head. Then his gaze wandered over towards the other children. As he watched, Delilah shifted her weight to bring her upper body closer to Antony's as they pored over the open scroll. The light caught at something hanging in her hair, dangling from the flower at her temple, and shimmered. He watched for a moment longer and then straightened with a gasp. "Hey! Hey, hey, what about those crystal things? They have 'em at Dad's shop and they shoot all these colors off on the wall."

Kisala tilted her head thoughtfully. Was there a place in the Temple that had lots of crystals in it?
"I think there's some windchimes with crystals in the gardens and out front..." she said, "We could look at those maybe?"

Irelia stared at the clue vaguely, trying not to look at any of the other kids. It was hard working in an environment where everyone was trying not to let the other groups find the prize when she could hear them. Blocking them out, Irelia decided to try her hand at the Treasure Hunt without cheating.
Opening the scroll with a nod to Jace, Irelia showed the piece of paper to Jace.
"Huh. Golden lion. I'm thinking either the bathroom or where they pray, but that's just my idea. Maybe they have those silly tubs with the golden feet? Plus I kinda need to goo..."
