I kind of knew about it for about one or two years because I'm into anime and manga and some of the characters were loli, but I'm kinda embarassed to say that the main reason for getting in to lolita was because of Kamikaze Girls. I thought the dresses Momoko was wearing in the movie where soooooooooo cute!!!! heart So I did some investigations online and voila! Hehe not the most exciting way of finding lolita but I'm quite happy now that I discovered something soooo cute!! heart

Well, it's hard to pinpoint exactly, but I know it began in a thread on Gaia. I forgot which forum, I think it was in petitions or something. Anyway, I was wandering around lurking like the lurky lurker I was and came across a huge pink text paragraph with the words "How to be a Proper Lolita Doll" (or something). I've always loved dolls and was interested so I read it, looked up some pictures and fell in love. For the next few days I learned everything I could and joined several Loli guilds (including this one). xD That was...maybe a few years ago.

It was wayyy back when I was first really getting into anime. I would buy a lot of anime and manga from CLAMP, especially CardCaptor Sakura. I was always in love with their clothing designs. I loved the poofy skits and lace. I always dreamed of having my own sewing machine and making them for myself. But I still had no idea what it was. But then when I reached high school, a lot of my friends were getting into EGA. They always looked awesome. And my boyfriend always said that I'd look so adorable as a lolita. The influence from my friends made it finally look it up and I've been longing to be lolita since<3.
Though, I still have yet to own/sew a complete outfit. =/

I honestly don't remember the first time I heard of loli fashion...it was ages ago. I thought it looked tacky and maid-ish, because I had only seen the b&w cosplay stuff. I didn't like it.
Then a few months ago, I joined the site Poupeegirl, and I saw that a LOT of people on there were lolitas. I was exposed to so many other styles of lolita, and I started to appreciate the fashion. I never thought I would wear it myself, I thought sweet was a bit too cutesy and girly for me, and gothic too dark...but then I saw the classic styles, Mary Magdalene, Victorian Maiden, etc., and I fell in love.

It was maybe two and a half years ago, for me, and I guess it started with my anime fandom of many years. I started getting into J-rock, and from their, I was naturally attracted to visual-kei. Of course I found lolita shortly after and instantly fell in love. Which is surprising, because until that point, I'd strictly worn jeans and baggy dark T-shirts, and generally walked around looking like a bum. But oddly enough, those frilly clothes appealed to me! And though I hadn't the money or sewing skill to get any real lolita, I started phasing lolita influences into my wardrobe (VERY) gradually over the past two years. Changing the T-shirts for nice blouses (often lacy and ruffly), the jeans for nice dressy trousers, and as of recently, the trousers for skirts. Even my shoes have evolved from sneakers to platforms. And I'm finally getting my first real dress sometime in the next month. ^_^

Oh my. I can't really remember it was so long ago. I think it was one of my friends who loves to draw and design lolita outfits. I've been admiring the fashion for a while now, and have only begun to actually wear it (getting my first skirt and petticoat soon!).

I found out about it by clicking through a page in Wikipedia. I think it was for Ali Project or whatnot. I thought it was pretty and all, but I only started really liking it when I found groups for it on the internet such as this guild.

I started liking it in 7th grade. I can't remember how I found out about it, but I know I've always liked victorian fashion.
I probably found it from looking up Aya from psycho le cemu or something<333

Well, during the summer a few years ago, me and my friend were at the mall. A girl at the asian store said I looked gothic lolita, at the time I didn't know what that was. Mainly because I was just goth also at the time, and my hair is blonde and naturally curly, blue eyes and ivory skin (makes me really happy and thankful to God ^^). So, then my other friend suggested this one manga, it mentioned gothic lolita. Curiously, I looked it up and fell for it ^^ at the time, I was already listening to malice mizer, dir en grey and such.

I have a snail mail friend in Japan and we have always sent each other pictures. She sent me one with her in a Lolita outfit and I thought it was so adorable. So I started looking it up on the computer.

I became interested in this fashion when I started hanging out with my friend Saski^^ Well, I learned of Harajuku, then started to look up sub-genres, thus finding Lolita. Plus, I've always loved the Victorian clothes and Masquerades^^ But, I started to look up pictures and instantly fell in love. *o*
