"No," she conceded with a soft, gentle laugh as she leaped forward to brush herself against his side again. "I don't know anything about rabbit colonies or special birds specific to our woods." She had only heard the rumors of the firefly haven, really, though she was sure that actually did exist - and from what she knew, it was probably very beautiful.
"I know it's supposed to be haunted," a flash of her eyes showed how much she believed that, but her smirk was dangerously teasing as she tilted her head at him and turned to head into the area that was supposedly the 'worst'. "What would you do if we saw a ghost, Uumi?" She wondered, idly, if he believed in ghosts, if he was actually afraid of them, or if he would greet them with the same grumpiness that he did everything else in the world.

Uumi had grown to rather like the touch of his mate, her soft and clean fur brushing against his own gave him a wonderful thrill. It had taken him long enough, of course. You would think after their second litter at least he would have been used to the contact and enjoyed it much more. Or perhaps he just put on shows of annoyance and disgust simply to avoid ever having to explain his change of heart on the whole matter. A slight, almost broken sounding purr came from his throat. Though it was not the most charming of sounds it was a rather good change for Uumi, almost on the level of extreme intimacey or something. "Well I'm glad, wouldn't want to have to deal with such annoying little beasts in the woods if there were so many around." He stated, though it was probably obvious enough.
As she began to move ahead of him he smiled slightly, the barest turn of the corner of his lips. When she proclaimed it was supposed to be haunted he found himself starting to laugh. But the laughing and walking weren't doing good for his breathing and he had to slow down and stop as a slight fit- still mixed with the sound of his quiet chuckles, came over him. After a minute he calmed though and began to move after his mate, shaking his head to show just how rediculous he though that was. "A ghost?" He repeated, a questioning look on his face as his mind debated if she actually believed in that s**t or not. He'd hope not, he'd like to think Syeira was smarter than that. "I don't think that would be very possible Sye, considering I don't believe in such childish fancies." He probably hadn't even believed them when he was a cub. "Hypothetically if we saw such a thing, though I hardly know what it would even look like..." He grumbled softly, quickly getting off track. "I.." He faultered and frowned, thinking. Well it was a hard situation to even imagine for the grumpy red prince. "Huh. I don't really know what I'd do... seriously Syeira ghosts.." He muttered and snorted, his tone was teasing and slightly implied he thought her a bit silly for even bringing it up.
He shifted forward and suddenly snapped, playfully, at her tail. My, my, what had gotten into the grump?

She had paused to wait for him as she heard the coughing fit overtake him, though she tried not to call attention to it. It didn't seem to be a particularly bad one, and after all, she wasn't his mother - there was no reason to baby him. He never did appreciate being babied by anyone very much. Once he had caught back up at her side, she let the faint trace of worry in her features fade away and instead simply smiled again, her mischievous smirk dancing lightly upon her maw once more.
"Well, you never really know what's real and what isn't, do you?" she asked with a small quirk of her brow, amusement dancing in her icy eyes. Oh, she had her own theories as to why the legends of this forest had come to be. There were all manners of reasons, tales that had been spun to keep lions from wandering into the forest, cubs especially. She couldn't prove anything, but she had ideas. It was much more fun to tease Uumi though. "Of course, there's always the chance that if you saw one, you'd probably just start having a fit, and then I'd have to save you." It wasn't said maliciously, in fact, it was actually said in quite a teasing manner.
She let out a small laugh, moving to leap away from him as he leaned to snap at her tail. She batted quickly at his face as he missed, though didn't glance back to aim and make sure she even hit her target - she was much more interested in their game of cat and mouse.

"Hmm?" His brows rose slowly as he stared quizzically and almost comically at her back. Of course he knew what was real and what was false... what was real was right there in front of you, you were able to feel it and see it and all manner of things. If it was fake... well it simple wasn't there. Or something else. His tail flicked and he continued to follow around, and at her teasing words he just snorted. After a few seconds though a small laugh spilled past his maw, one he'd been trying to surpress. "Well, you do like being the hero... don't you?" He teased right back, jerking his head back as her paw came at him.
Or more like the antihero. Did that make him a sidekick... or a villian? Well, he was sure many lions in the pride had their own ideas as to what sort of character he had... it didn't really matter, as long as he was able to spend time with syeira like this. He had known the ice princess since his childhood... how strangely they'd come together and how strangley they seemed to fit each other..
It had been very hard at first, staying away from his homelands to stay here by her side... these days it was much more comfortable, in most ways anyhow. Still, he often felt extra thankful for days like these where he was not shoved the responsibility of watching cubs and he could just enjoy time with his mate..
he slipped off after her, deeper into the woods.
