ARRAKIS'S TRIP HOME --egg--
User Image

Elf walked back to her house in a daze... her interview went amazing and she had walked home with an egg nestled in her arm, protected from the elements under her jacket. She needed a better way to travel with the egg, for she would not let it out of her sight... no sir-ee! It was far too precious for that.

The woman knocked on the door. Her friend opened the door and looked down, "Hey, Elf! How are you?" And with that the two of them hugged.

"Hello, Lisa... I have a favor to ask..."

Lisa smiled, "You usually do, what's up?"

Silently, Elf carefully took out the egg and showed her friend, who squealed with excitement. "I, umm, need a bag to carry it in... but I want it to double as a napsack for when it hatches...."

Lisa nodded as her eyes didn't leave the egg. "What did you name it?"

Elf sighed and hefted the unhatched Mysterian, "Well, I think it is a girl... and so I named her Arrakis."

This time, her friend lifted her gaze from the shiny enamel, "A star? You name her after a star? And not just any star..." the other woman chuckled, "but one in the constellation draco...."

"It is a pretty name and... I love that constellation," Elf pouted.

Lisa waved her inside, "You take care of that egg... I think I have just the thing for her... wait here."

Elf stepped in and found a chair, where she sat down and hugged her Arra gently.

It wasn't too long when Lisa came back. It was a sling backpack made of blue-leather with the constellation Draco stitched in with silver and the secluded Arrakis in gold. "This should do..."

"It is wonderful, Lisa, thank you!!! Did you make it?" She balanced the egg on her lap and thumbed the backpack, inspecting it to notice a blanket and memory foam inside.

Lisa nodded, "Yeah... I made the backpack before, but I put her constellation on there and added stuff for padding."

Carefully, the woman placed the egg in the sack and patted it to make sure it was alright. Zipping it shut, Elf stood and hugged her friend, "Thank you, it is perfect!"

"Good," Lisa laughed, returning the gesture, "Now get out of here, I've got more things to do!"

Elf put the backpack on and then scurried out the door. She waved to her friend and left to continue on her way home.

SILENCE OF THE... --egg--
User Image
Elf was sleeping soundly. The music was playing as it usually did ever since Arrakis's arrival into the house. The found out on the first night that the egg did not appreciate the noise of the fan Elf was used to. All night, Elf was hammered by Arra's hard shell, beaten into submission. The woman had panicked, trying everything she could to settle the egg down. It wasn't until right before sunrise that the small human turned on some music that the egg settled once again and Elf was allowed to go back to sleep.

Every night after the music played. It didn't matter what kind, as long as it was more music than words (aka, no tuneless rap).

This night, however... was a little different.

*CRASH*

It only took a moment for Elf to be wide away and running from the bedroom to try and find the disturbance. It was still very late and the sky was dark. She ran to the back of the house, where she thought the crash may have originated. Sure enough, there was a broken window.

Iambe, a koi-based dragon, was sitting on the window-sill, chatting away in her usual speech. It was obvious she was stricken by the broken window.

Elf ran to her, "Iambe, careful of the gl..." She scooped up the dragon, who crawled up her arm to rest on her shoulder. The glass of the window was on the wrong side... the window was broken from the inside!

Tentatively, Elf poked at the glass. It all showered down. "Great, I am going to replace that, now!"

Iambe jumped out the broken window and floated to the ground.

Shocked, Elf leaned out, and there, sitting on the ground, the stars shining off enamel, was Arrakis's egg! With a sigh of exasperation and relief, Elf quietly made her way outside.

Feeling how chilly it was once she was one the deck, Elf ran to the egg and scooped it up. Suprisingly, the egg was still warm. Iambie floated back to the woman's shoulder as they went inside.

"You know," Elf said, hugging the Arrakis close, "you didn't have to scare me like that... and break a window that I'll now have to get a new one. There is a flap in that door that lets everyone outside...silly egg!"

But Elf was tired, still tired, and everything she did at that moment was starting to get sluggish. She crawled back into bed thinking she had Arra-egg secured in her arms.

Iambe watched with amusement as the egg rolled out of Elf's arms, pushing blanket into the whole and then rolling back outside, this time, out the door flap.

REALIZATION STRIKES --egg--
User Image

((Note!: This was a real-life conversation! My friend wanted me to call him Syd. I guess to imagine this as it pertains to Arrakis, think of this entire post as like a dream.... and imagery that I dreamed up... duh duh duh!!! The things expressed are what I truly feel... I cannot speak for my friend, Syd, though. The beginning and end is altered, but not by much... and then everything else is word for word... with a few minor adjustments -like actions and tones))

Elf was sitting on the couch in the back of the house when she heard the knock on the door. Arrakis-egg was in her lap, enjoying the petting she got from the reading human. The woman tried to ignore it, being entranced in the book. The person at the door, however, was not going to be ignored and started knocking harder, more insistently.

With a sigh, Elf but down the book and carried Arrakis to the door. There was one more long knock before she got there. She opened the door and looked up at one of her friends, Syd, someone she knew from the area. He looked distraught and very upset.

Concern immediately took her and Elf opened the door wider and stepped aside, "Oh, my... Syd, do come in!"

The man walked in, barely registering to say thanks, although he did, at the last instant. "They took her away! I was betrayed... and for that betrayal they were rewarded!"

Elf followed the taller man as he walked into her home and then flopped down on the couch. She immediately took a seat in the comfortable chair.

The woman did not need to ask to see who Syd meant. She meerily listened to her friend and tried to offer her counsel.

"I think I''m changing..."

Elf looked up, a little confused, "Changing? For better or worse?"

Syd looked down at his hands, as if they were more interesting "I don''t know yet."

"Well, everyone changes.... if it is good or bad is up to you..." Elf tried to help.

"My friend...she and I had a talk about me losing my pet," he took a deep breath. "and she told me...basically...at the end of the day...all they are are pretty pictures."

The room broke apart for Elf. She took gasped as the room changed. She was really just an average college student, sitting at her desk and typing to her friend. He wasn''t really there, but yet she saw him... and she saw herself, holding the egg-known-as-Arrakis.

"Ouch..." the words escaped the mouth of the ''cyber-Elf''.

"Well...." he continued, not noticing the change, "you breathe life into something that someone else created; but it is not alive, per say."

(Both) Elfs twitched at the thought, "Yes....but that is like saying ''It is just a book'', ''It is just a painting/sculpture/song'', ''It is JUST LOVE'', as in marriage or so!"

Syd frowned a bit, looking up at Elf, "Marriage involves people; beings uniting, living. Songs... songs are sung by real people!"

"What do you think the pets on Gaia do?" The woman at the computer keyboard asks, "they connect REAL PEOPLE!" She pauses, and the Elf in the room continues, looking down at the transparent egg still in her arms. Inside she can see a spark of life. "Love is a non-touchable, non-visible thing that people KILL and DIE for..."

"I know that," he sighed, "Why do you think there are people dying in a far away land right now? They don''t do it because they want to."

"Because of ''freedom''..." Elf guessed.

"Well..that is not always true. They do it because they have loved ones...people they care about," Syd explained.

It was Elf''s turn to sigh, "Yes, the reactions of love and such are visible in actions, but love itself is not."

Syd was quiet for awhile, "There are people that I would DIE for. Because I know that she''s literally saved me from my own death lots of times, and I''ve done the same for her. Bonds like that..."

"But still... it is NOT tangible," Elf shook her head, "just the actions the result from it."

"It doesn''t matter if that is tangible."

"I know... but I am trying to tell you it doesn''t matter that Gaia is not ''real'', that it is not ''tangible''...that the pets are not ''real''" Elf sat back in her chair, petting the all-but translusent egg.

"In a way..." Syd said thoughtfully, "most of gaia is real."

"It is the same concept as love," Elf watched Syd, "it is... just the same that love is real!"

"But I still am teetering on the concept of pets..." Syd shook his head, "after the experiences I''ve had..."

"And the feelings that generated from them were very real, wether it was happiness or sadness..."

Syd pondered the statement, his face appearing as one of pain, "Anger... Hurt... Frustration... Rage... Those were the only feelings that I ended up with from them. That''s why I am questioning this whole concept..." his eyes looked at the egg, with a bit of distate but also a bit of longing, "Is it all worth it in the end?"

Both of the women (Gaia-Elf and RL-Elf) smiled brightly and patted the egg lovingly, "I believe it is..."

STUPID PEOPLE --egg--
User Image

"Everyone has biases... do they not?" Dr. Makina asked, turning to face the class.

Joseph nodded, "Yeah, you're born with them!"

"How can you try and change your biases?"

"You can't," Sara piped in, "All you can do is work on accepting them."

"Okay, let's move on...."

Elf say on the side of the U shaped tables in the class. In her lap was her pack with Arrakis inside it. It was the probably the third time she had brought the egg to class with her. This one was Cultural Dynamics, a cultural anthropology course. Even though she didn't feel that the subject of "bias" was discussed enough, she didn't say anything. In fact, she hadn't said much in this class.

These people.... they want to be anthroplogists but they seem so....

"Now let's talk about Ethnocentrism... the idea that one thing, especially a culture or idea in one, is better than another," Dr. Makina said with a drip of distate in her voice.

Elf scowled at the teacher, "But a person relies on ethnocentrism! It helps identify who they are!"

The professor scowled down at the woman, who looked like a girl to her experienced eyes, "Enthoncentrism is very bad and to be avoided at all costs, it is the cause of violence, racism, slavery, even the Holocaust!"

"That is what the Extremists do," Elf shook her head. The egg in her lap shook and seemed to shake in anger. "Ethnocentrism is just the thought that one is better... that one is right and one is wrong."

"That makes no sense...."

Maybe not to your closed mind... Elf thought and took a deep breath to try and explain, "Well, use Christianity as an example, this can also apply to Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, and other religions. If a follower of Christ thinks that Christianity is better than another, they will continue believing, if they truly believe it. If not, they wouldn't be Christians. People will not believe in something they really think is wrong...."

The egg had calmed at Elf's explanation, but it was not enough for the humans in the room.

Everyone else just stared at Elf, as if she had grown horns and a tail. She stared back then stood up in a huff, "It isn't my fault you are all self-centered people! You are here to be an Anthropologists, and your thoughts, the things you are ethnocentric about, will change. For now, you are all frauds, you cannot even see past your own NOSES!!!"

With that, Elf left the room. Once she was out, the egg in her arms jerked back to the room, as if it wanted to add its own few words... or egg someone.

"Not now, Arrakis," Elf whispered, "Let them figure it out on there own... although I am suprised at the teacher.... but for now, let's go eat!!!"

The egg settled and the two went out to grab a bite to eat... well, Elf was the only one to really eat, but yeah....

((More about what ELF means by this entry which does my own ranting no justice xd

A DAY AT THE REN FESTIVAL --egg--
User Image

They lucked out, it was a gorgeous day to spend at the Renaissance Festival. It was also going to be the first time that Elf would not have to keep Arrakis-egg sealed up in the pack. The human carried the egg in her arms. Sure, people watched, but they didn't care...why would they? It was the Renaissance Festival!

"C'mon Rocky!" a voice echoed through the confines of the booths. "Good boy, Rocky, let's go watch some jousting...!!!"

Elf jerked in a pivot, trying to locate the high pitched 'pet voice' from the area. She stood and stared, a hand covering a smile, as a small woman -although taller than herself- walked through the crowd. Attached on a string, trailing behind her was a rock that dragged in the ground.

"Well, isn't that just a great idea!" Elf mumbled. She searched around in her boots -where she put all her belongings- and pulled out a string, which she tied to Arrakis and then set the egg on the ground.

Now, Elf already knew the egg's tendency to bounce everywhere, so she wasnt worried about scratching the enamel.

So, that was they they did. Elf walked around to the shows, Arrakis bounced behind. No one asked how that was possible -who knows, maybe the egg was rubber-, or what was going on, they merely accepted it.

They went to Puke & Snot, saw the Washing Well Wenches, cheered at the Jousting, and even watched glass being blown and made into a pretty vase. The day was great, except for the beer cheese soup, which changed and now was not nearly as good as it was the year before.

On their way out, Arrakis still bouncing happily behind, they saw the 'Rocky girl' again. Now, however, she was sitting on the ground, trying to bribe the rock to come to her with no aid, "Oh, please come here Rocky, see... I have a treat!"

Elf didn't mention anything, just smiled and kept on walking to her car. It was there that she found the rock embedded in Arrakis's shell. The rock was very pretty, though, so she kept it, and tucked it away in the pack that was in the car.

ARRAKIS'S 1 MONTH B-DAY BASH --egg --> child--
User Image --> User Image

((Note: The posts will be in the order they were posted... so, yes, there may be some discrepancies... just ignore them.... xd ))

Bash's Original Thread

EchoLimaFoxtrot
"Curse me and my procrastination!" ELF growled at herself as she put out the last of the decorations. She had given the invites out in time, but the small woman was behind with setting up. It was already five minutes past the time she had posted on the invites, Elf was happy no one had arrived yet.

Finishing with the Deco's, the woman ran into the kitchen and started putting the food and drinks outside.

With a sigh, she slumped in a chair, where Arrakis-egg bounced into her lap and purred.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf leaned back in the lounger chair, and through the house, watching passerbies on the street out the front door. She thought she saw some familiar faces and ran to the front. With Arrakis-egg cradled in her arm, Elf leaned over the railing and waved hugely. "Subo? Xeno? Daemon? Were you all planning on coming over and having some food... and some cake?" the woman winked at Subo, who had brought it over earlier.

Suboshi-sama
Grinning up at the woman leaning against the railing, she waved with her free hand, her other occupied with an egg. "Cake? I have no idea what you speak of.." she said, mock-innocence dripping off of her words.

Xenostatica
Xenos grinned as well as Daemon, "We never turn down food, So this is Arra's little party?" She said leaning on the fence.

Daemon looked a bit surprised, "Xenos I didn't know don't we get presents for a party?!"

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf saw the egg in Subo's arm and she ran down to greet her, already forgetting about the mentioning of cake, "Omigosh, Subo! You have a Mysterian egg too!?"

When the eggs were close enough, Arrakis-egg shook and a squeak of excitemnet was emitted from her enamel protection.

Xenostatica
Xenos chuckled listening to the eggs, "Well, they seem active."

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf rubbed her head along Xeno's hair, "We have lots of food.... and I had to kick many of the dragons out for the day, so they don't bother people... heh"

The woman petted Daemon with her free hand, "No present necessary!"

Suboshi-sama
Subo looked down at the egg in her arms, which seemed to give off an air of smugness, and Subo was certain that if s/he/it could, s/he/it would be preening.
"I...suppose...Faras just brought it home one night. No explination whatsoever! Soo....as a sort of punishment, I made him stay home and look after all of the short ones." She explained, waving at the other woman and the young centaur beside her.

Xenostatica
Xenos waved back at the woman waving at her. Daemon bowed slightly and grinned at the eggs.

He straightened his hair from Echo's playing and grinned again, "Oh good I was worried but I'm sure being here is a gift!"

confused Daemon!

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf chuckled at Subo's explanation and patted the other egg in affection after playing with Daemon. She then turned to the centaur, "Close enough..." she chuckled and then stepped back, "Did you all want to come out back?"

Suboshi-sama
"Uhm...sure!" Subo said, shifting the egg to her other arm.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf lead the way through the house and out the doors to the back, where lounge chairs, hammocks, and soft egg-pillows were scattered. She also showed everyone the table of goodies. "Thanks for coming!" the small woman giggled, waving her arm to show the expanse of things.

Xenostatica
Yes, that sounds wonderful!

Daemon grinned, "Aw you know I love Arra-chan, it's that big brother/little sister connection!"

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis-egg scooted out of Elf's arms and hopped over to Daemon, where she promptly jumped into his arms and rubber along his furr, purring.

Elf watched with a look of near-shock, "I'm going to be kinda worried if she does that all the time once she hatches...."

Xenostatica
~blinks~ Wow, Well at least they get along.

"What's wrong with her doing that when she hatches? She'll be able to ride on my back all the time," Daemon grinned as he purred back.

You still purr?! How come you don't do that with me?! ~pouts~

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf coughed into her hand, "Eggs bring out the purr-y-ness of Daemon?" She then turned her attention back to the purring Mysterians, "Well, my dear centaur, if she does that once she is hatched, and with both of you, especially, still being children, it is not considered...." the woman looked around the yard as if it had the answers, "...proper? in this culutre..."

Sian
Sian sauntered in with Malise by her side. She took a quick look around and then jumped over to a chair. "Thank the heavens for chiars!" After sitting Sian slowly slouched down in the chair with a deep sigh.

"Sian, you're a dork. Can I go play now?" Malise sat beside Sian with her small hands on the chair arm. She bounced a bit as she said this and then started to grin as her eyes moved from side to side.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf watched Sian come in and nodded to those she was talking to to go meet the new arrival. She knelt by the chair, "Is Sian alright?" The woman winked over to Malise.

The Arrakis-egg bounced to the ground and then rolled over to greet Malise.

Sian
Sian smiled when she saw Elf, "Yeah I'm fine, just a bit tired because someone had to pull me to every single flowerbush on the way here." Sian looked over at Mailise while she said this, not angrily but with a look of care.

"ARRAKIS! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Malise squealed when she saw her." After finishing the hop she was on she jumped over to greet her with a hug. "Yay! I'm so glad that we finally got here!"

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis-egg whistled happily when near Malise.

Elf blushed slightly, especially since she had a flower garden in the front of her house and was probably guilty. "Well, I am glad you got here in one piece, at least" she gave Sian a slight hug.

Stereochrome
Pan peeked around the corner of the house, golden horns flashing in the sun. Piper was beside him - but she was nowhere as wary as the other faun, and trotted out happily, waving her arms in greeting even before she bothered to see who was here. "Hiiii!" She giggled - then glanced backwards, realizing that her brother was not by her side.

Pan was still clinging to the corner, his eyes sliding this way and that. He was rather shy - and some of these people were strangers. However, Piper did not allow for that - simply grabbing his hand and pulling him away from his hiding-place, and towards the others.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf heard Piper's announcement and turned towards the fauns with excitement. She approached slowly, so as not to frighten Pan any further. When she got to the two children, the woman knelt and patted Piper on the head, "Well hello you two! I am so glad you could make it!"

Arrakis-egg had followed closely behind and when she approached the other Mysterians, started bouncing up and down, trying to get their attentions.

Stereochrome
"Hi!" Piper repeated proudly. "Sheri isn't here, but we left him a note! With a red crayon. I couldn't find the orange one, I think I used it all up. I need a new one!" Pan nodded at this, smiling slightly - Sheridan had had to buy them multiple boxes of crayons, solely for the fact that Piper was forever demanding another orange crayon.

"Ooo! Eggbaby!" Piper kneeled infront of the egg, catching it in her ams and hugging it. Pan peered over her shoulder curiously - the egg was jumping. How could eggs jump? he didn't remember jumping in his egg. And he'd never seen Piper when she was an egg.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf chuckled, "I'm sure Sheri will forgive you for using a red crayon instead of an orange."

Arrakis-egg snuggled in Piper's arms and hummed happily.

The woman shook her head, "That is one strange egg.... I will worry when it hatches, for I will probably never be able to find Arrakis then...." eek

Stereochrome
"Why not?" Piper asked curiously, standing up with the egg in her hands. "Sheridan can always find me." She grinned. Pan, by her side, giggled softly. "That's because you're not very good at hiding - you make too much noise."

Piper shot him a sideways look. "I don't make too much noise. Sheri can just.. hear very well." She nodded, as if confirming her own theory, stroking the egg. Pan only giggled a bit more. "Then how come he never finds me?"

"'cause you're cheating." Piper said simply, grinning. Pan fumed, and took a few steps away, taking his panpipes out of the pouch he wore around his waist and lifting the instrument to his lips.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf snickered, "I think I'll have a hard time finding her because she is always running off" She sweated nervously.

The woman watched Pan, perked up to hear some music. heart

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf clapped her hands and the hired trained monkeys started to play. She snatched the nearest person and started to dance horrible and singing to the music since the monkeys didn't have the right vocal-sense. "Ring around the Rose-y!"

Arrakis-egg rolled around and started to bounce in front of the monkeys, distracting that particular one who, without ruining the song, put down its instrument and started chasing the poor egg.

Eamane
Eamane checked the address written on a scrap piece of papper one last time, comparing it to the one on the house in front of her. They were the same, though that was probablya lucky fluke considering the elf's sense of direction....or lack there of.

She climbed the steps and knocked softly on the door

Suboshi-sama
Subo only had enough time to set the egg down on a table before she was whisked off by Elf.
.....Trained monkeys..?

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis-egg had rolled into the house with the monkey close behind when Eamane knocked on the door. Because the door was not latched shut, it opened from the force -however light- Eamane put into the knock. Without stopping, the egg rolled right in between the elf's legs. The monkey was not so lucky. It would have knocked right into Eamane if it had not jumped and clung to her shoulder at the last minute.

"Ooh eeee!" The monkey used Eamane as a perch, trying to find Arrakis-egg, who had changed tactics and now hid under the elf's dress.

When the door was fully opened, it could be seen the signs decorating the inside of the house directed the viewer to go through the house and out back.

Eamane
Eamane let out a sound half way between a squeak and shreik as the trained animal clung to her. She bit her lip and looked around having missed the egg for now. She grinned at the pretty walls and then looked sternly at the monkey. "Off" she ordered shrinking away from it slightly. Her actions and tone directly offsetting each other.

She tried to take a step forward and almost pitch forward as her foot hit the Arrkis-egg. She gave vent to another squeak and lifted the front of her purple kimono. With a confused look she bent and scooped the egg up and looked at it. "And you would be?" she asked walking towards the loud nioses that were quite obviously the party.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
The monkey jumped off when told and started opening cupboards and looking under things.

When Arrakis-egg was discovered and then picked up, it wiggled slightly and made some unintelligeble (sp?) squeaks in a vain effort to answer the question.

When Elf saw the elf (ahh! tongue-twister) under the frame of the back door, she stopped her singing and, apologizing to her dance partner (who was probably very relieved), ran to the new arrival.

"Eamane!" the short woman embraced the elf and then she saw the egg. With a questioning look, Elf watched the egg, "Arrakis! And where have you been?"

Eamane
Eamane blinked again at the very bright dizzying scene that met her eyes in the backyard and in the next instant was practically bowled over by her friend. She giggled "hello to you too" she handed the egg over "she...he...it? was hiding from a monster under my skirt...i'm tempted to say him" she said slyly.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf giggled, taking the egg back, who promptly chirped demandingly. Without a second thought, the woman put Arrakis-egg on the ground, who quickly rolled back to the house to harass a certain monkey.

"Actually, Arrakis is a girl, or so I've been told," she stepped back. "Do come out, we have food and great company as well...!"

Eamane
Eamane step aside to let the egg past her. "Well she is far to energitic for one unborn, i think you're going to have your hand full with that one!" the little elf winked and then looked over her hosts shoulder at the festivities. "Oh you've done a wonderful job at making everything look so pretty!" she eclaimed clapping her hands together girlishly

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf sighed, "Don't I know it... I think she believes she is already hatched. Even though she has so much energy, she seems to be holding off her hatching for some reason. For now, I must deal with a very independent egg..."

*CRASH*

Glass crashed from inside and took a deep sigh, "Sorry, Eamane, I must go save.... something... make youself at home!" With one last hug, the small woman ran inside, "Arrakis!? Monkey!? Whatever you're doing... STOP IT!"

Nio Love
A curious little blonde head peeked in, followed by a possessive looking little blonde. The first was the Mysteria who had requested to come, and the second was the little boy who had 'granted' this request, despite her having asked her father, and not him. She gave Donny a pursed glare when he followed her in, but peeked around, looking for anyone else to talk to. Anyone but Donny.

"I've got to go do the grocery shopping. You two will take care of each other, right? No running off outside or anything. Promise?"

The two little blondes echoed the word 'Promise' up at Nio, with angelic gazes. He eyed them warily, before sneaking a peek around. There looked like enough parents for them to be safe.. so he slipped out, promising to return soon.

The moment the door was closed, Harmony's angelic gaze turned to a fatal glare as she looked over at her brother. He didn't notice, he was too busy looking for someone he could show off his pet to.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
After saving anything else from breaking, and cleaning up the mess, Elf walked back outside just as Nio left. She noticed the two blondes and started to walk towards them. The monkey was not happy, however, and started to reach and swat at the protected Arrakis-egg.

"Stop that you!" Elf muttered just as she got near the two children, "Well, hello!"

Nio Love
Both Donny and Harmony looked up at Elf at the same time, though Harmony looked as though she was no more than a moment away from splitting and finding the farthest spot she could from her brother. "Hello," They echoed in an eerie coincidence, and promptly looked down to glare at one another as if the other was trying to mimic them.

"I'm Harmony, and this is my brother Donny." The word brother dripped off her tongue like poison, but he beamed proudly, ignoring it. "Harmony pet!"

The little girl seethed inwardly.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Elf knelt by the two children and smiled broadly, "It's nice to meet you Harmony, and you as well, Donny!"

The monkey chose that moment to jump up on Elf's back and make a grabby-hand motion to the two blondes. Elf giggled, "I think this little fella wants to make your acquaintance. And if you want anything to eat, help yourself! There is enough food for all"

Bluefire Dragonz
A woman with blue hair came around the corner of the house and stood little timidly. She clutched a cream colored egg in her arms and looked around the yard, taking in the party decorations and the guests. "I've been so busy lately... I hope I'm not too late..." She stroked the egg softly as she spoke absently to it, unsure what she's supposed to do now.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis-egg bounced up to the newest arrivals as if draw by the egg the woman carried. Jumping a couple times, Arrakis-egg tried to lead them further outdoors.

Stereochrome
Piper darted around exploring. Her brother tagged along - then soon got bored, and walked up to the porch - it made a nice stage. Glancing about a few times nervously, hoping noone would mind - the faun lifted his panpipes to his lips, and began to play. Softly first, then louder and louder, until he caught Piper's attention.

The girl looked up and cheered, trotting towards Pan and digging her instrument out of her waist pouch. She was already playing before she even got there, prancing and twirling with her brown hair flying all over the place, making things up as she went, to add on to Pan's tune.

Bluefire Dragonz
Dragonz looked down as something bumped her leg. She smiled and bent down to gently stroke the egg as her own shook a little in her arms. "My, my Kohaku. You're not as active as this little egg, but this is the most reaction I've gotten out of you! Hello there, eggie! Are you the party girl, I mean egg?" She laughed and patted the egg again.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Everyone (yush, I am RPing everyone for this part, sorry) was so entranced by the two fauns that they failed to notice Arrakis-egg. She went to the back of the corner and delicately hatched.
Delicately truly was the word, too. The Mysterian was silent andbslowly broke out of her egg. When she was finished getting out, she pulled out some fabric from her egg-backpack that just so happened to be nearby. Quickly and accurately, the dragon made herself a blue outfit that hung on her amazingly well. When she was finished getting dressed, Arrakis walked back to her egg and put the pieces loving into the pack where she had spent a lot of time.

-She grew, duh duh duuuh-

With that done, the newly hatched dragon, who was quite sure of her feet I might add -and balancing with her tail-, climbed up to the table. There she met a small soot sprite that bounced at her arrival. With a grin, the dragon bent over and whispered in it's ear, "I shall call you Sprite!" She patted it and then moved to the present that rested by Sprite.

It was purple, her favorite color. She knew it was from her Guardian, Elf, but had no idea what it was. Still silently, with the beautiful music of Pan and Piper in the background, Arrakis opened the gift and gasped excitedly when she saw what was inside.

Arrakis jumped off the table and landed with a soft crunch of grass. Sprite stayed by her side as the Mysterian walked into the crowd, dragging her new dragon plushie. Next to Elf, Arrakis stood by her Guardian and took a hold of the human's hand.

Without a thought, the woman took the hand of the dragon, not sure who it was. Smiling down, Elf took a peak at who held her hand so lightly and caringly. She stared in shock and then the human unsurprisingly fainted at the site of the beauty next to her, which could only be her beloved Arrakis.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *runs to Malice, enchanted by shiny-ness* ((aka, markings)) "Wow.... you're pretty!" *eyes, thinking ow to add the Mysterian to her hoard*

meru_chan
Malice: *gives arra a very stange look* O.o;; PRETTY!?~

Xenostatica
Daemon laughs: Arra pretty...isn't the right word for him.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *looks up at Daemon then back at Malice* But he is! gonk *skitters up and then fingers tattooes/markings* He has such shiny jewelry, and then horn rings!!!! *touches ring* xp

Xenostatica
Daemon walks over and pats Arra: Yes, he is glittery and shiny, but you would say he is exotic. *he nodded at the word he picked*

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *giggles then smiles broadly at malice* You are very exotic!

meru_chan
malice: Ragh!! No touchy's~ *skitters behind meru*

Xenostatica
Daemon laughed softly: I think that is much better and Malice being a demon I would think that was a great word for him.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *looks up at Daemon, confused -daemon sound like demon, and...-* His name is Malice? And Malice is a demon? *eyes go round* Really? He is not a dragon!? *doesn't see the difference since wings, tail, horns... runs up to Meru and jumps into her arms, planting a kiss on the other person's cheek then peeky over should, down at Malice*
((That probably woulda been better in formal RP confused ))

Xenostatica
Daemon chuckled: Yes, he is a demon not a dragon but for now you do have similar looks though you...are a bit scaly and he well leather seems the better word for it... *He put a finger to his temple* Meru, it is grand to see you and Malice!

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *despite not being fulfilled on explanation, jumps to ground, metal jingling, then runs up to Daemon and into his arms* So how is Akh today? *still steals peeks to hidden Malice*

Xenostatica
Daemon laughed as he caught Arra: Hermana, I'm doing well though...*he looked over at Xenos* Xenos isn't doing too well with her problem called Allergies.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *crawls to a centaur-shoulder and peers at Xenos* Allergies? what's that?

meru_chan
*pats arra on the head* hello swettie~~ have you been good for your mama?~

Mal: *clutches onto meru's legs and glares*

*looks at Daemon* its good to see you guys again too!! ;_; ..i've missed everyone! '

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *nods to Meru's question* Yuh! Very good! Since she has classes, I ransack her house, and the library and read the books....staying out of trouble and everything! *winks at Malice*

Xenostatica
Daemon wrinkled his nose: It's a situation of she gets a runny nose and watery eyes that make it look like she is crying cause she has some kind of allergic reaction to mold and types of grasses...*he thought for a moment* It's like she gets a cold, but it isn't like she can get no one else sick.

Daemon walked over to Malice: Bye little one!

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: Icky! *makes a strange face and then waves to Malice and Meru*

Xenostatica
Daemon laughed: Yea, and she talks funny!

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *pinches her nose* Like this? All nassally?

Xenostatica
Daemon chuckled: Yes, that's it!

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arra: *unplugs nose and rubs tenderly* That gets painful! I hope she gets better soon!

Sian
Malise ran into the shop with her hair in tangles. "Mommy! I found this kitty and he tried ot bite me! So I started him on fire!"

Sian
Malise stopped running towards Sian when she noticed Harmony. "You're pretty red, are you sick?" She moved a bit closer to the other Mysterian with a critical eye.

Another cat?

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis looked over when she saw Malise run in. She jumped to the floor once more, her dress rustling fromt he silk and jingling from the little pieces of gold and beads sewed in. The dragon ran to the demon, entirely mystified by the other girl's comments, "Did you really? How'd you do that!?"

Nio Love
Being noticed for her blush only made her blush further, and Harmony lowered her head to let her blonde locks fall into her face. "No, I'm okay.. really I am. It's just a bit warm in here. Truly!"

Sian
Malise turned her attention to the other Mysterian. "Ohhh you're pretty!" She shifted her critical eye to Arrakis and looked her up and down. "I like your dress." She commented before looking back at Harmony. "I dunno how I started teh cat on fire, I've done it a few times though."

Faeyas
Keira flys into the room and sees new people she has never met before...Flying over to a girl with an overly red flace and plumage that looked kind of like what her mother had explained was a peacock. "Hello" She curtsied low, her wings fanning out, "I'm Keira, Who are you?

Nio Love
Suddenly, it seemed like there were many others around her, and whatever had made her blush before was soon forgotten. She pushed her hair out of her face and looked from one to another, curious about all the different features and colors she was suddenly presented with.

"Hello, Kiera." She answered first, and her left headwing waved it's tip at Malise. "My name is Harmony."

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis curtsied politely to all the new entrance. She beamed as Malise complimented on her dress. She nodded to everyone as she committed the names to memory, "I am Arrakis, and it is a pleasure to meet everyone!" The dragon toyed a bit with one of her 'sleeves'

Faeyas
"Its nice to meet you Harmony!" Keira said with a smile on her face and a tiny curtsy still left in her flight. "So what kind of creature are you?" she flew around Harmony attempting to figure it out, "Not that I'm trying to be rude or anything, I've just never seen anything quite like you and you are soo pretty."

Sian
Malise sat down and moved her wings. She was a bit tired, but she knew everyone's name. Her mom had made sure of that, so she watched silently.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis shifted and sat next to Malise and inspected her wings, "Are you a demon, too, or a dragon?"

Nio Love
Her eyes flickered up to Arrakis, emboldened simply by the way the girl managed to introduce herself to everyone at once and welcome them at the same time. She smiled helplessly when she saw it, though she wasn't the type to get up and do the same.

Returning her gaze to Kiera, her comment forced a faint return of the blush that had begun all of this. "Ah.. creature? I'm a girl, I suppose.." She knew she was more than that, but preferred not to mention her Simurgh side unless directly asked. At home, she was a girl, a sister, a daughter, nothing more and nothing less.

"And you're very pretty, too."

Sian
Malise looked at Arrakis, with a smile on her face. "I'm a hybrid, but my mom just calls me a Demon, you're a dragon right?"

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis smiled brightly, "Or so I am told. I've read many books about dragons and I've seen so many different kinds that I am not always sure. I think I look more like a Western/European or Middle East dragon more..."

Pausing slightly, Arrakis managed to look a little sheepish, "I'm sorry, I guess you didn't want to know all that..."

Faeyas
"Thank you" Keira smiled kindly at the girl, if she didn't want to share what she was, she certainly didn't have to. "I am a Dragon," at this she winked at her sisteren Arrakis and spun, "I am like Arrakis, but my herritage is far more western then hers is, I think." she stoped spinning and looked slightly puzzled.

Sian
Malise listened to Arrakis with her utmost attention. "No, I actually think that that's very interesting. I didn't even know there was different kinds of dragons! Then again, I haven't read many books on the subject."

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis looked happy again and then looked up concernedly ((-so I like making up words-)) at Keira, "Eee! Don't get too dizzy!". She shifted into a crouch, ready to catch the other dragon if need be.

Still keeping an eye on Keira, Arrakis smiled over at Malise, happy she wasn't told to be quiet, "Oh yes, many different kinds of dragons! Almost every culture has it's own version, too.... although..." she faltered, "I met someone today, I thought he was a dragon but Akh told me that he was really a demon. And so when I saw you...."

Sian
Malise nodded as she listened to Arrakis. "Hmm, Did you meet my brother then? He's SUCH a freak!"

Faeyas
Keira heard Arrakis's concern and knew that she was a good friend, but that there was nothing to worry about, "My mom explained how to spin, and I don't do it to much, so I should be alright..." Keira flew closer to the ground, "Is this better?" Even though Keira prefered being up high, she didn't want Arrakis worrying.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis looked at Malise questioningly, "Is Malice your brother.... I guess that would make sense since you both look kinda similar, and are both demons, no? Also, your names are pretty close!"

Sian
Malise hopped up as Sian moved towards the door. "I have to go, Sian promised me some shopping and it looks like we're going ot go now." She waved to everyone as she left and said a curt "Bye!" As she left the store.

Nio Love
All at once Harmony felt guilty for not answering the question as she knew she should have, and she bit her lip as she watched the girl spin. She looked from her to Arrakis and back, noting a few similarities but still finding them so very different that it was hard to consider them both related in species. Several of the long appendages behind her lifted curiously, their colorful ends snaking about as if looking for something all their own.

"You're both dragons? Dragons must be such pretty creatures. I'm.. well that is to say.. I mean.. I'm a simurgh."

She wasn't sure why she was so hesitant about it, but she knew she wouldn't make friends if she kept secrets. No one would trust her.

She noticed the concern in Arrakis' voice over Kiera, and smiled lightly, reminded of her own family and their close knit bonds.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
"Good bye, Malise! Nice to meet you!"

Arrakis moved into a kneeling position, but otherwise nodded, "Yeah, lower is a little better, you'd fall less if you got disorientated."

The dragon, still managing to keep one eye on Keira, smiled brightly at Harmony, "Thank you, Harmony, that is very sweet of you! A simurgh? Now that is a name I haven't come across before. I wish I knew more, you are just gorgeous!"

Faeyas
Keira had this thing with questions unanswered, so she flew over to Arrakis, "She is a Demon, but an interesting one, isn't she?" Keira smiled, "I had this idea that Demons wern't so kind, but she seems rather nice, so I guess demons can be nice..." Keira drifted off to stop herself from rambling more...

She heard Harmony speak and she flew back over to the girl, "Wow a Simurgh!? That is amazing, such a creature I thought I'd never meet." she paused, "My mom has a book that explains many creatures..." she attemped to explain, "And yes, Arrakis and I are both dragons, our species varies greatly, but we are still the same." Keira smiled and stoped herself again, she was talking to much, at this rate she'd be known as a know it all, not somthing she wanted, but she was proud of her knowledge. It was a thin line she was on...

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis giggled, "Well, a demon is just a term, is it not? I mean, we are both dragons but incredibly different. Demons must be the same way, no? But, yes, Malise seemed very nice....and I want to know how she creates fire!"

Nio Love
Malise ran off before Harmony could say goodbye, but she thought that perhaps she would see the girl again, so she contented herself in that knowledge and didn't worry too much.

She looked up at Arrakis, her eyes widening just slightly in surprise at the sudden attention. A heartbeat later she gave the girl a smile, and shrugged.

"Thank you. You'll have to be careful though, you'll make my ego swell. Then I'll be as bad as my brother."

She rolled her eyes, but was all too happy to move off the subject as Kiera spoke. When she stopped herself, Harmony was quick to pick up the conversation. "Are you sisters? Do you live together?"

Faeyas
Keira heard Arrakis's words and immediatly jumped to help her friend understand, " Simurgh are chimeras of a sort, they shaped like birds, often have heads of dogs and claws of lions, there is said to be a simurgh soo old it has experianced the worlds destruction three times," Keira explained, hoping it helped some...

Keira smiled at them both, her family members weren't so talkitive, "Arrakis and I arn't related, but she is a good drake, whom I consider a friend." she turned to Arrakis, "I think you may have a point there, the two demons kind of look like us don't they?"

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Hearing Harmony's statement, Arrakis winked, "While an ego too big is bad, being confident and sure of yourself is not...or so I've been told. But I am sure you love your brother!!!" The dragon paused and looked over at Keira and then back to Harmony, "No, we are not sisters, nor do we live together. We just happen to both be dragons."

Glancing at Keira, Arrakis's eyes got very round, "Really? The world's destruction three times!? That is truly amazing!" The dragon-girl looked back to Harmony and smiled once again, "That it a great heritage to be a part of, don't you think?"

Nio Love
Harmony? Love her brother? Ahah. Hahahah. Ha.

No.

She bit her lip to keep from laughing out loud at the mere thought, and just smiled in response. "I see. It must be nice to be such close friends."

Something foreign flickered in her gaze when Arrakis boasted for her, speaking such high praise of her heritage. She only reacted with a shy smile, otherwise. "I suppose."

The door opened, and her father's head popped in. His gaze dropped to the trio of girls, and a crooked smile played on his face. He just wanted to croon at how his little girl was making friends so quickly. He caught her attention, and he gestured that they would be leaving soon. This elicited a pout, but she wouldn't argue.

Looking back to Arrakis and Kiera, she sighed. "I will have to go back home now. I hope I see you both again soon.."

Faeyas
[I may be going here soon as well...so tired x.X]

Keira agreed with Arra, "You closely related to the pheonix you know that?" she kindly informed Harmony, "But enough of that, I'm sure you already know all of this and it hardly needs to be thrown into your face." Keira scratched the back of her neck, not sure if she went to far and maybe embarassed the poor girl, she certainly hoped not, "So what about your family?" Keira asked kindly.

"Oh," Keira realized she was leaving, "Well Hope to see you around again Harmony!" Keira smiled and waved at her as she left.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis noticed Harmony's denial to loving her brother and almost laughed as the emotions played on the simurgh's face. "Actually, we just met today... but it was nice meeting you, Harmony, and I hope to see you again!" The dragon curtisied to the arrival who motioned to her new friend ((Nio)) and then waved excitedly to Harmony's exit.

Faeyas
Despite what Arra said, Keira gained friends quickly, and considered anyone who was kind to her a friend, even if they might not. It was purhaps rash of her, she often thought, but why not?

"Well Arra it was nice meeting you but I think my mom is comming to get me so we can bring Orbsen to a cottage elsewhere, It was nice meeting you, hope to do it again someday!" and she waved before vanishing off.

Nio Love
Harmony stood when they both bid her farewell, and gave them both a bright grin. "I'm sure I'll see you both again. I'll make sure of it. And when I do, I'll tell you about my family if you still wish, Kiera." She waved to them both with a light hand movement, and toddled off to meet her father at the door. Once there, she turned around while being picked up, and waved her peacocked appendages in farewell. "Goodbye!" She called out, bright and cheerful. She was obviously very glad to have met new friends today.

Faeyas
Keira came up to Harmony as she herself was leaving, "Oh yes I would be interested! and we will see each other again, I'm sure of it!" and Keira continued to leave.

EchoLimaFoxtrot
Arrakis waved her farewell to Keira as well...

And then there was One...

Starting to hum to herself, Arrakis also started to dance. Slowly, the humming turned into singing and the dragon was enjoying herself. As she danced, the figures of her friends seemed to walk about, just as how they did when Arrakis met them.

When her dance was done, Arrakis looked around the room. The images faded and the dragon smiled, her sharp teeth glinting. It was time to go home.

With only the rustling of her dress and the jingle of her beads, Arrakis left, turned off electric appliances as she went and she waved goodbye to the room as well.

A JOURNAL FOR ARRAKIS --child--
User Image

Elf walked into the room. She had a package under her arm. Arrakis was sitting on the cough, her legs drawn in and her skirt gracefully lied on the dragon's legs.

The woman leaned on the wall and watched Arrakis. It was about five minutes before the child gave notice to Elf's presence. Arrakis put her bookmark in place and then set the book aside. Not very childlike, she shifted so she sat on the couch like a lady and then looked up at Elf and smiled.

The human smiled back, she could never resist the dragons charms, even when Arrakis was caught of being out all night. "I have a gift for you...." Elf walked over and sat down next to the Mysterian.

Arrakis waited patiently. Once Elf was next to her, the dragon child crawled into the human's lap, a very impatient look on her face, "You did! Thank you! What is it? Is it pretty? Can I hoard it?"

With a laugh, Elf handed the package over. Arrakis shifted in the woman's lap once more, and opened the bag....more like ripped it open. She squealed when her eyes beheld the shinies. Arrakis was so enchanted by the larger gift that she barely registered the sound of a small piece of glass skittering across the carpet.

User Image

"It's... gorgeous!" Arrakis whispered and then turned around and hugged her Guardian.

Elf returned the vigorous and then whispered, "Something else fell out, you'll have to hunt it down..."

Immediately, the child jumped from Elf's lap. With book cuddled in her arms, Arrakis sifted through the carpet and found the small piece of glass.

ARPEE!!!
User Image

"Arrakis!" Elf yelled from atop the ladder, "How's everything coming?"

The dragon child stood and dusted herself off. She had just finished her pumpkin and set it by the door, "All done, Elf!"

Latching on the last decoration, Elf did a victory dance, rocking the ladder and falling to the ground. Pained, and now bruised, she worked to get up. Arrakis had watched and now just looked at the human, saying nothing. "That's alright! I'm okay... Thanks for your concern."

Arrakis snorted and stood up. She walked over and grabbed a pumpkin piece that had been flung from getting smashed from the ladder, "Is it alright if I go out for awhile?"

Noisily getting herself untangled, Elf sighed, "Yeah, sure... I'll need to get another pumpkin and carve it.... go enjoy yourself and be careful of the weirdo's out!"

Smiling, Arrakis nodded and went to throw away the pumpkin piece. "Thanks, Elf!"

"No problem..." the woman grumbled, preoccupied with the ladder.

--------------------

Arrakis skipped along the sidewalk, her backpack hoisted on her shoulder. She eyed the decorations at the doors. The sun was going down and soon, Halloween would begin!
PostPosted: Mon Oct 31, 2005 3:52 pm

Allure grinned as she walked around, mainly focused upon her newly acquired egg. She had been at home all day, in front of the sewing machine, playing with some dark gray felt and some cotton fluff. What could she have been doing? Well, she was making a Halloween costume for her egg, of course!

She had ended up creating a plush frying pan for the Mysterian. It was temporarily glued to the base of the little one, and she carried it around happily. Two black cat ears sat atop Allure's head, and she gave a few self-directed mewing sounds as she went along her way. Her destination today was the shop where many people used to be .. maybe she would run into a few others that she knew?

Without paying attention, as usual, Allure bumped into something, causing her to thud to the ground. "O-oww.." she groaned, as the egg rolled along the sidewalk, and stopped, luckily, before going into the street. That plushie frying pan was good for something! Looking up, she realized it was a tree .. which was .. convinently placed in someone's yard. Rubbing her temple, and scooting over to scoop up her egg, she noticed Arrakis.

"Hey Arra!" She called, waving eagerly.

Arrakis heard Allure slam into the tree, who couldn't? She held back a giggle from behind her hand and made her way to the runaway egg. The dragon eyed the plush frying pan. Her eyes lit up, "Allure, that is just precious!!!"

She caught up and now stood next to Allure and her egg. "Happy All Hallow's Eve!"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 31, 2005 4:08 pm

She held her little egg high up in the air, making sure it sat perfectly atop the frying pan plush. "Thank you! It took me a few hours ... and a few poked fingers to finish it!" A nervous laugh was given, as she attempted to hide the bandaids that seemed to engulf her hands. Lowering her arms, she gave the egg one more hug, before setting it upon the ground for a moment.

"Happy Halloween to you too!" She reached behind her back, and pulled out a little pumpkin-shaped bag, filled with goodies. Leaning forward, it was handed to Arrakis. "For you!"

Arrakis took the bag, her eyes wide. She looked up at Allure with a grin, "Why, thank you!!!" The dragon fished out a candy and popped it, unwrapped in her mouth. She fished again and pulled out another, offering it back, "Did you want one?"

Through sticky teeth, the child grinned, "So, why aren't you at home finishing up? Elf will be busy until the trick-or-treating begins." Arrakis giggled, "She smashed a pumpkin..."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 31, 2005 4:17 pm

A hand quickly went to Allure's midsection, and she pressed the palm against her shirt, rubbing it in a clockwise motion. "Ohh.. No, thank you!" She laughed, shaking her head. "I've had quite a bit of candy today ... believe me, I would love to have some! I'm just happy you're enjoying it!"

"Well.." A few glances were given, and her brows narrowed as she attempted to focus upon the decorations upon the nearby houses. "I thought I'd take my little egg around to see the town, enjoy the festivities ... and to uh .. get some inspiration for decorating my own home..." She brought a pointed finger to her lips, creating the universal 'Don't tell!' sign. The egg shook and wobbled upon the ground in response.

Arrakis smiled, "You are SO not fat!!!"

The dragon shrugged, "I am sure some activities will be at the shop...and nonalcoholic ones at that. Shall we head over that way?"
