Shino walked closer toward a group of people and Heralds that seemed to be conversing. She was eager to meet more people, and on top of that maybe Bethan or Tamuril would be there with Kaine-Nigel too.
Locke's white hair fluttered into his face with a passing breeze. He shook his head in an attempt to move it back to where it had been so he could see. Without much success he finally decided to let go of Shino so he could use his hand. With vision clear again, his eyes came to rest on a few of the other Heralds and their beautiful wings. For the first time he felt a little subconcious of his own-they weren't nearly as pretty, or such was his opinion. Shino on the other hand often told him the contrary-that she rather liked them.

Blood laughed and slightly elbowed the elf.
"It's not very often you'll see me clean up like this, that's for sure. So enjoy it while you can."
She chuckled and looked around. There were so many new faces, and it was exciting. Her eyes had fallen on the tall Herald with dark wings.
"Oh? And who may I ask is this strapping young fellow?"
She said aloud to him as she noticed he was looking for a chance to come talk to 'mane. It was her way of welcoming him over to join the conversation. And plus, it was nice to get to know the Heralds whom she had yet to meet. The ball was the perfect opportunity to be sociable!

He didn't forget his mission, if it could be called that, at all. He was to find Shayna and ask for a dance, even if it was 10 seconds long it'd be mission success. But the herald was shocked that he was just so simply invited into the conversation by the woman in the strapless black dress. He wondered if it was an invite in but he stepped up carefully, squishing snow beneath his shoes. He kept a small distance to see if he would be shooed away. he took his chances as he bowed slightly with one hand in front of his waist. "Name's Kemuri. And your name, miss?" He said, standing back up straight as he asked her name.

Guinevere stepped into the ballroom, cheeks rosy with excitement. Kotatsu had actually gone out and let her choose a dress for this and she had promptly chosen the one with the most black and purple she could find. It was really pretty, and Guinevere thought it was mystical looking as well. They had had to look all over town to find a dress that could be fixed to or did fit Guinevere that she liked or would like if it was adjusted. After all the searching, Kotatsu was worn out and barely had any time to make herself look presentable, not to mention the work of modifying a child's dress to look like something approaching eveningwear. But after all the trouble, Guinevere seemed happy. Kotatsu silently cursed Guinevere's collection of fairytales. Young girls didn't need ballgowns but once Guinevere had gotten it into her head that she was invited to a ball like in the storybooks she so doted upon she would not accept anything less. Kotatsu thought her charge had been becoming more mature over the past few months, but sometimes she needed reminding that whether or not Guin was growing, she was still very much an impressionable young child.

"You may call me Blood."
She gave a bow of her head and a smile.
"You have a lovely name, Kemuri. And what about your guardian?"
She inquired, looking around for someone who was without a Herald. Failing to find them herself, she simply looked back to Kemuri and waited for him to answer the question.

"Nice to meet you Blood" He said giving the woman a smile. "She should be right there." He pointed to an empty space where the teenage girl was standing but wasn't anymore.
Meanwhile, Lily had wandered around by herself, staying within the red ropes that limited her in the sanctum. She followed the edges of the red rope and was eventually lead to where the exit of the sanctum was. She knew if she left, she might not be able to re-enter without Kemuri. She wandered hopelessly lost, but still within the boundary, after a few minutes.

Blood raised a hand slightly to her mouth as she chuckled. She rested her elbow on the hand that crossed over her torso, and rested her cheek in the hand raised near her face.
"It appears you've lost your guardian."
She smiled to the Herald, looking around, and spotting a younger girl wandering aimlessly at the far end. Taking her hand from her cheek, and pointing, she smiled.
"Would it be the younger girl over there? She seems a little lost."

Kemuri turned around frantically to try to spot the girl. He looked at where Blood pointed to he turned back to speak. "Oh yes, that's her, thank you for spotting her. And also... Do you by any chance know of a Herald named... Shayna?" He asked shyly to Blood while still keeping a constant watch over Lily. Eamane and Blood seemed close, She could know where the fiery herald was.

"Know her?! I raised her! But I suppose you wouldn't have known that. My apologies. I am Shayna's mother."
She gave a slight bow in respect to the Herald.
"She moved in with her auntie here when I had left due to some... unfortunate circumstances."
Blood wrapped an arm around the elf in a half hug, and smiled.
"As for where she currently is, Shayna is waiting at the summoning stone to help those who can't make it through to the sanctum on their own. She should be joining us a little later on."

Eamane watched the confused young Herald with some amusement. It wasn't until he mentioned his own name that she took a closer look. Shay had mentioned him once but she hadn't mentioned how much older he was, or how attractive. She grinned slyly.
The elf watched Kemuri's guardian while Blood and Herald spoke. She looked younger than her charge and just a little bit lost. But she seemed content to remain inside the roped off area so she did not worry overly much.
She returned to the conversation when she felt the taller woman's arm about her shoulders. She looked up with a smile, "We were just glad that you came back. Shay was ready to murder me."

Kemuri smiled at the happy feeling that these two lovely ladies had. He returned the elf's grin but she looked away towards Lily. He returned the bow to Blood. "oh, the summoning stone." He repeated, "Then i guess i shall wait for her in here" He added. "so, how was your evening so far?" He asked both of the women, trying to keep the conversation going.

Shino walked with Locke up to a group of people and heralds that seemed to be friendly enough-after all, it seemed they were having a nice conversation. Shino wanted Locke to make as many new friends as he could, and she didn't know anyone else their either. Her little mouse tail curled around her leg, as her heart began to beat a little faster with anxiety. "Ch-Chuu," she coughed. She sighed inwardly, at least she didn't squeak that time. "I mean. Um. Hello." She bowed politely with Locke still being held tightly in her arms.
Locke's gaze was on the new faces, as he stretched out a curious arm in wonderment. Hopefully, the group wouldn't think they were rude for trying to join the conversation, but they didn't know anybody else, and their auras were nice, at least Locke thought so.

Cassie stood in a suit, she had never worn dresses or skirts willingly. She wore polished black shoes and the darkest blue pants and jacket. Under the jacket there was a emerald green vest and white shirt. Over the suit she wore a heavy wool coat that stopped at her ankles. Her hair was slicked back and her collar turned up to block the wind. Beside her clutching her black gloved hand with a white mittened one was Fiona. she looked quite pretty. She wore thick white leggings and little white boots. Her dress was emerald to match Cassies vest and she wore a white coat over it. the fake furred hood covered her head keeping her ears warm. Cassie looked down at fiona and asked
"ready?"
Fiona nodded smileing
"Yep! are you ready?"
Cassie smiled a bit
"Yeah lets go."
and the two of them went toward the pavilions

"My evening started out rather lovely as I got to see Shayna in her beautiful dress. Though I can't say I'm enjoying my dress, though I will have to stay in it for the night."
She giggled, dusting away wrinkles in the dress. From a nearby table she scooped up a tall glass of champagne and sipped it.
"How about you? Looks as though you got here just after I did. Enjoying yourself so far?"

The dark haired herald peeked over to see if Lily, his guardian, was still entertaining herself without bothering anyone else. She was so he was a bit relieved. "How come you dislike the dress? It makes you look quite lovely." He complimented as she picked up a glass of what looked like soda off a table. He didn't dare ask what it was so he left it. "oh, um, yes, i'm enjoying myself a lot." He answered to her question.
