o.o I'm pomo-sexual "Postmodern (pomo)sexuality refers to a nonorientation in which people disregard sexual labels altogether. While it is convenient to sort everyone into a handful of different groups - homosexual, bisexual, heterosexual - pomosexuality argues that these words and categories cannot do justice to the complexity of human sexuality. Like many other things in life, sexual orientation and/or gender identity isn't a black and white, either/or experience for many of us. Rather, it is a fluid and incalculably unique journey that is beyond definition. Pomosexuality literally means anything you want it to mean. It means anything goes. And it represents an end to all the confusion, oppression, fear, and restraint that comes with trying to identify with a restrictive label." pomoworld

The_Third_Username stare Sorry.... I gots issues "gender identity isn't a black and white" stare ORLY? whats your definition of gender identity? o.o I guess I think of it more along the lines of gender roles.. Just because I'm female doesn't mean I'm gonna go bake a cake, or pop out 6 kids, or cry at sappy movies.. And I don't expect every man to be a strong, beer-drinking sex addict.
While there are girly girls that want nothing more than to serve a husband and children and manly men that drink beer and are lumberjacks or whatever there's a million variations from tomboys to drama queens to girly guys to the A-Sexual Its Pat! type. That's what I took from it.
o.O and I don't think of myself as postmodern.. I do believe in right and wrong... I don't believe the whole "if it doesn't hurt anybody it must be ok" theory... The reason I like "pomo-sexuality" is it sounds nicer than "we're all bi, deal with it" or "my sexuality is between myself and my partner/s". Plus! saying I'm pomo-sexual ALWAYS gets a reaction from somebody =P
PS you're cute when you're sarcastic

An oxymoron is self contradictory like stupid genius or sweet b***h. postmodern means pretty much (depending where you find the definition) a rejection of boundaries.. how does that contradict with sexuality? Aren't you rejecting societies boundaries by being gay or bi?
As for the label thing you're absolutely correct. It is just another label. But good luck trying to find a way to describe yourself without using any labels, its not easy.
PS you're cute when you're snippy =P

Apunkt Aren't you rejecting societies boundaries by being gay or bi? So its Anti Social to be a homosexual? Even tho its not your choice?
Quote: what about the degrees? All the people that are bi but lean one way or the other?
They are, exactly what you said, degrees of one sexuality

you're fun to argue with =P
Quote: So its Anti Social to be a homosexual? Even tho its not your choice? Noooo Anti-social is "a condition characterized by persistent disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others that begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood. Deceit and manipulation are central features of this disorder".. nope nothing about sexuality there.. You can go against societies rules without being anti-social.. and I'm not talking about law-breaking.. I'm talking about the un-written rules such as.. "girls who sleep with a dozen men are sluts and guys that sleep with a dozen girls are studs" "Men shouldn't have sex with each other and if they do they deserved to be bashed" "if you're not skinny you're not pretty" blah blah blah so yes you are going against societies rules if you're bi or gay or if you're a woman who enjoys sex or if you're a white person that marries a different ethnic group etc

And breaking those rules still leads to everything from a bad reputation.. to verbal abuse.. to ostracism... to vandalism... to violence... I have a sister who is a lesbian and a best friend who's gay and I've seen each and every one of those things happen to them. And some of them have happened to me just for being associated with them.
