She shook her head when he'd asked her about being so close, and smirked a little. "You don't bother me at all, Shane." She said lightly, snorting a little under her breath. "Nothin' about you can bother me." And really, Moira couldn't help but actually mean what she said. No teasing, no cat and mouse games. Which left her with nothing but blunt honesty. But she was good with blunt honesty, so it wasn't too bad a loss.
Moira attention was averted when he answered her, and she blinked. then grinned, nodding. "Cooking, aye?" She couldn't help but sound amused. "My mama likes to cook, too." Not that it was out of the ordinary, but it felt kinda funny to connect Shane to her mother that way. It just made him easier to get attached to, really, and that could be good or bad in Moira's life. She smirked a little. "He cooks, he writes music..." She glanced up, arching an eyebrow. "Does he save the world too?" She couldn't help the teasing tone, but it was light and jovial. She was having too nice a time to launch right back into their little game again.
Maybe this meant she was losing. Maybe it was another tie. Nonetheless, Moira didn't care too much for the game now. Before it'd been fun, but now she was far too attached to be any good at a game like that. Or so she thought, anyway.

Chuckling quietly at the admission, Shane couldn't help but smile. The lass wasn't so bad when she wasn't being a devil. Sure, she was no angel, but then, he wasn't one either. This being honest thing wasn't quite as bad as he might've thought. It was a nice break from their little game. One that he knew he was doomed to lose in the end.
An amused grin took over, as Moira seemed...surprised that he actually enjoyed cooking as a hobby and not just a way to harass the ladies. Giving a short nod to confirm that yes, he did in fact like to cook, he smiled at the mention of her mom. Maybe now he could use that to weasle out a little information regarding her home life...and that visit of hers she'd seemed so sad about. But as the lass continued on in a teasing tone...he rolled his eyes.
It looked like the lass couldn't let temptation lie, and Shane found himself responding with a teasing grin, "Isn't that what we're all here for, lass?" To restore time before Janus did and save lives while they were at it. What a mission that was!
His playful grin widened as he removed one hand from her back, to cup her chin towards his. Not really wanting to talk about time getting restored, Shane decided it best to change the subject before they got too involved in it. Smirking softly as he leaned in close to her face, he whispered in his lilting voice, "So, lass, really nothing about me bothers you?"
Well, boyo, that's certainly one way to change a subject. Just don't go throwing yourself off the deep end while you're at it!

Moira snorted and nodded a little. "Good point." She muttered, musing only vaguely on the purpose of their being there. To stop Janus and save the world. It seemed like such a big haul for a group of individuals like them. And everyone would have to play their part, or it couldn't be done. Even if everyone played their parts, it still might not be done. It was kind of scary, when you really thought about it. This opted Moira to avoid thinking about it all together. It was an intimidating job, but... that's why she'd gotten into it originally, wasn't it?
It was. So there.
Moira blinked when Shane leaned in, and a slow easy grin tugged its way onto her face at his question. That voice could make ice cold butter melt away to nothing, she thought to herself idly. She almost missed his question entirely, and it took a minute before she answered him sheepishly. "Not a thing." She said confidently, grinning at him with natural ease. The closeness distracted her a little from the conversation, but it was a pleasant distraction.
And oh, how tempting it was to just lean in and close the distance between their mouths. She leaned in just a little, but she didn't close the distance between their lips to kiss him. A tiny stubborn part of her was holding out, and she knew it. What she didn't know, unfortunately, was how much longer she could hold out before she caved. Damn her inherited lack of self control!

A deep throated laugh escaped from his lips at the lass' agreement. At least she hadn't entirely forgotten why they were there, thought she did sound distracted. Noticing how close they were, and how he could feel her soft breath against his face, he realized he was more than a little distracted. The lass was beautiful and they were standing rather close. Shane knew what he shouldn't do, and that was that he likely shouldn't lay a deep kiss on her like he wanted. It was so tempting, though...
Lips widened into a grin at her next words. Was it him, or had she sounded almost unsure of herself, with a facade of confidence rolled over it? Was she nervous about how close they were standing? Or was he doing something he shouldn't? At the sheepish underlying tone, Shane realized the lass wasn't playing the game with him right now. Doing a mental victory dance as he realized her feelings hadn't all been for show, he was slightly surprised when she leaned nearer. Just a little farther and he knew he'd have closed the gap in a split second.
Maybe she was showing such self control because she didn't want a kiss? Or maybe she was heading back to their game of cat and mouse?
As the Irishman's lips parted slightly with the temptation of what she was offering, whether inadvertently or not, he felt the last of his control slip away and he closed the distance between them. Feeling as if he was moving through water, his lips pressed against hers in a small, pleasant kiss that lasted mere seconds before he pulled away. Hovering near to her face, his eyes opened to search hers.
Had he done the wrong thing? Or had he finally done the right thing?

Moira's eyed slid closed when she realized that he was moving close, and this time the kiss hadn't caught her off guard like the embrace earlier had. She melted against him, and before she could possibly kiss back, it was over, and he'd leaned back. She opened her eyes slowly to look at Shane, a question dying on her tongue when she saw how he was looking at her. She smiled slowly, and her eyes seemed to light up under the examination.
Control be damned, she leaned forward to close the distance between their lips again, kissing him gently. This time she didn't pull away, and her hands wove up around Shane's neck, so he couldn't pull away immediately either. Dang it, she was going to get more than a quick peck out of this kiss. Determination spurred the kiss, and only when she was content did she pull away.
When she did pull away, however, the goofiest grin fought its way onto her face. She laughed a little, watching him, and shook her head slowly. "D'you know how frustratin' it was not to just jump you?" She breathed, voice quiet since they were still pretty close. She was giddy over the kiss, and it showed in her grin and the way her whole face just seemed to glow from it.
Oh yes, she definitely liked this guy.

Pleased as Moira melted into him during the kiss, Shane almost regretted releasing her after such a short one. Looking into her eyes and seeing that hers didn't seem to reflect that he'd done anything wrong, a small sigh of relief escaped from between his lips before Moira closed the distance once more. Momentarily surprised at the lass' forwardness, it took Shane a split second to register her hands on his neck, and realize his hands had moved to her back, pulling her tighter to him. Not that they could even get much closer at this point.
A small, barely audible moan left his mouth before he could catch it as the lass pulled away from the kiss. He hadn't wanted it to end, and he was fairly sure his face showed that. More than he likely would have liked. Smiling slightly at her question, he gave a small shake of his head. He hadn't even realized she'd been tempted! Shane had lost the game before he'd thrown in the towel here, and he disliked that fact. Ah, but the lass was good at this! What a devil she was!
Unable to resist as he gave her a couple light kisses on the lips, he finally whispered, "No, lass. I hadn't even realized you were that interested." And a fool he felt for admitting to that, but admit to it he did. Too caught up in the moment to really care about any game or lying.

She heard the moan, though it took her a minute to click what it actually was to Shane's mouth being the cause, and her being the reactant that caused that single reaction. It was kind of like a high, the way it made her whole mood seem to inflate. Or maybe it was the butterflies.
It was probably the butterflies.
Moira's silly grin didn't die in the slightest at each little peck Shane gave her, leaning against him comfortably and looking up at him. When he'd confessed he hadn't even known, Moira blinked, and laughed a little. "An' here I thought I was predictable." She admitted, smirking a little at him. Moira almost couldn't believe that she'd gotten that confession out of him without saying much of anything. He really was all caught up, wasn't he? It was kinda sweet.
In that sugary adorable way that Moira seemed to be developing an addiction to.

A pink sheen lit across Shane's face as the lass he held so intimately in his arms teased him. Realizing his surrender had been complete, he pouted slightly before giving the lass one final, deep kiss. Nearly crushing the lass to him with his strong arms, he finally released her and breathlessly muttered, "I think, lass, its best if I let you go now."
Giving her one last, regretful look, he removed his arms from around her before smiling. He was truly happy that they had moved off the game, if even for a moment. Even though he had lost, Shane knew that really, in the end, he'd won something far more worth it than a silly game. Looking into a sea of olive, he knew he'd won something he'd be willing to fight for. With a wink and a grin, he threw in a teasing, "And how predictable did you think I was?"
All right, so perhaps even though the game was done, Shane couldn't resist a bit of teasing. And what better way to lighten the mood - and change the subject, than to return to the simple comfort of a game?

Moira once more found herself turning into proverbial goo in Shane's arms, melting against the kiss. She just barely concentrated on what was happening enough to return the kiss, and then he'd let her go, muttering something about it being best. Pfft, best her royal Italian hiney. Nonetheless, she nodded in agreement, and stepped back. And then she proceeded to do the weirdest thing she'd ever actually done in the presence of anyone.
She stepped back, and shook her arms out, then rolled her head back. She was shaking out the effects of the kiss. Not in a bad way, mind, but Moira didn't trust herself to stand up without falling back into him if she hadn't. Her attention was diverted when he'd directed a question to her, and blinked for a minute. One could almost see the wheels turning in her head as she thought this question out, and then she grinned, putting her hands on her hips in a relaxed manner.
"Only a little." She smirked a little, amused as she thought backwards. Really, some of the things he'd done were pretty predictable, but at the time, she didn't recall noting right off the bat what he was doing. She might be the Devil at this game, but he wasn't no baby chick to it either. She couldn't help but wonder about his experience in it, but didn't find herself really jealous about it.
She had her past, he most certainly should have his.

Raising an eyebrow as the lass shook herself out, Shane's mouth opened once or twice before he finally managed to form any actual words with it. He'd never seen anyone dance about like that and he didn't quite understand why she'd be acting like that. With a small tilt of his head in curiosity, Shane finally muttered, "Are you feelin' all right, lass?" He leaned forward as if he fully intended to grab her again, before she blinked at him as if confused about something.
When she finally managed to give him an answer, he sighed with relief that she was clearly not too ill before rolling his eyes. 'Only a little' she said, with a smirk as if everything he'd done had been predictable! Most women didn't imagine a man would grab them at random while covered in the glory of a hard workout, and then kiss them.
Affecting a slightly injured tone, he glowered at her smirk before giving her one of his own, "So what should we do now, lass?" Oh, sure, he had some ideas. But he wasn't going to act on them. Not until he knew more about her, at least. Besides, he wanted to hear her answer - see if he'd bothered her at all with that deep kiss. He knew it certainly bothered him just a little he'd made the decision to back down...

Moira grinned sheepishly when he'd asked if she was okay, and shrugged to spare embarrassment in admitting why she'd danced around like that. Pride was an ugly thing, and took form this time in sheepishness at her behavior. Honestly, what would he think to know his kiss had made her so weak in the knees she had to shake it off? Pfft. She wasn't going to risk finding out, that was for sure!
When he'd asked a second question, it took every ounce of control for Moira to bite back all the answers that immediately jumped to mind and required way less clothing than what was currently being worn. Instead, she leaned back on her heels thoughtfully, folding her hands behind her. Then she grinned at Shane. "I think..." She dragged the sentence out, trailing off as she gave more thought to her inevitable answer.
"That maaaybeee..." Another trail off. But it wasn't trailing off in the sense that she honestly didn't know what to say, it was evident in the way her eyes sparkled she had an idea or two stirring about in her noggin. No, this was just another devious form of teasing.
She had a million of 'em, and poor Shane would probably be subjected to them all at least once.

An amused grin lit Shane's face as he raised an inquiring eyebrow at the lass' omittance of speech at his question. Must have been something he'd done to make her squirm about like that, and something she was embarassed about, judging by her grin, or she'd have thrown it back in his face as coyly as if it had been a friend who'd done it. His typical smirk replacing the grin once Moira leaned back on her heels. So, she was back at the game, was she?
Attempting to hide his own, forming grin as the lass began to drawl out her thoughts, he cupped his chin in one hand thoughtfully, as if thoroughly interested in what she had to say. His heart was beating just a little bit faster at what she might suggest, and anticipation was a real bugger as she trailed off and left him with nothing but unsaid hints. What a devil this Moira could be! Making a man fall for her and then dragging him out into this long, difficult game...even if Shane could really only blame himself for how long it had taken to get a kiss off her, he still would blame Moira. 'Twas easier that way.
Tapping his chin thoughtfully once or twice, his eyebrow raised once more before he finally managed to tame his lips into a simple smirk. Reaching out to lightly touch the lass' arm, he stroked it ever so faintly as he asked, "Maybe what, lass?" She might be better with words for teasing, but he could certainly start pulling out all the stops if she was going to.

Moira smiled a little, and stepped closer to him, closing the distance between them to nothing more than a few inches at most. She looked up at him, hands folded behind her back innocently, and then she smiled. And there was a tiny bit of sadness in that smile, which would have a source in what she said: "I think..." She trailed quietly, watching his eyes for something that her own gaze hid the motives too. A fountain of mystery, this one.
"That one of us should go." She finished finally, heavily. And then Moira closed the distance between their lips, and gave him a short, light kiss. Then she pulled away, and moved past him to walk to the door. Because inevitably, one of them would crack, and too much would happen too soon. And if it took all her self control and leaving every time things got too easy too quick to avoid what happened before... Well. Then she'd have to take a lot more cold showers, wouldn't she?
Moira stopped when she'd reached the door, and looked back, smirking a little at him. "And for the record, just... to set things straight..." She grinned at him. "I like you. And I like the kiss. And if it wasn't for the fact that as an Italian woman and as... well... a Vontage, I have no inherent self-control, I would probably stay here and keep you company. But because of that, y'know... lack of self-control entirely... I don't quite trust myself to not just jump you here."
She grinned, and turned, heading out of the training room. "Just so we're clear." She added over her shoulder, looking back and grinning wickedly.

Shane thought his heart might just stop if the lass kept teasing him how she did. She made it so hard to just play the game and resist temptation. At this rate, he was guaranteed a cold shower, and when she leaned in close, and dusted his lips with a kiss, he leaned in and sighed as she flounced away. His head nodded his agreement, though it made his heart feel heavy, before his chin finally dropped to his chest. This made twice now, that the lass had left him hanging! Shane fully intended on not only keeping count - but in making her make up for it later.
A thought that pleased him enough that he managed to look up with his bright blue eyes and meet her own olive colored ones when she started to talk again. With a delighted grin, when she mentioned she liked him, Shane did a mental victory dance at the thought. At least he hadn't made a mistake! The grin only deepened when she moved on to mentioning the kiss...and furrowed into a look of both shock and the thought of missed opportunity when she mentioned her lack of self control. His eyes grew wide when she said she didn't quite trust herself to not jump him - the lass was a forward one, it seemed!
Swallowing a couple of times before he managed a response, he forced his lips to twitch back into their smirk as he raised one hand in a wave, "Aye, lass. Its best if one of us leaves, in that case."
Though I can't guarantee I won't come looking for you later.
Resisting the temptation to go to her and kiss her some more, or even just hug her tight once again, Shane turned back to the punching bag. Fully intent on working on the tension he'd just managed to work up.
