He sighed, sitting up to look at her. "You said so yourself that I'm smart. But unlike him I still took time to understand people. His lack of interaction comes from not understanding people. Mine comes from the fact that I do." He stood going over to her, rather determined. This wasn't the usual Wei that was always around Alex.
"Jiejie don't talk about hope like your giving up on yours for him. He regrets. He worries. And I'm sure it's all over you, jiejie. I know." What was he doing? He wasn't one to get involved in other people's personal lives. Well Rui was an exception. Thus if Rui was, Alex had to be too. That was the reason. "If he asks for another chance, give it to him will you?"

"Hey," she grumped, "who is the teacher and who is the student here, huh?" Alex looked at the young boy, and her heart ached for him. "You're not supposed to be thinking like that yet. You're supposed to be an arrogant little turd for a few more years." She scratched the back of her head sheepishyl, a faint smile on her lips. The woman had made it so painfully obvious that she liked the doctor, she really had no right to be coy or shy about it now.
More than that, was that Weiyuan had called her his big sister. When was the last time he'd done that? She kneeled next to him on the mat, resting her hands in her lap, pleasant green eyes still upon him. "Between you and me, Wei, I'd give him the world, and he'd never have to ask. But...I think you understand that." She knew the conflicted youth would do the same for his loved one.
"I know what you mean, about his...well, y'know, about how he is." Her words were a little hollow, as she knew very well why he was the way he was, and that's why she was giving him the space he probably needed. Alex wanted nothing more than to barge into his office and give him a bear hug, but she had to put him first. "So promise me you'll come to me or RuiZhi...hell, even him, if you need anything, okay?"
She'd have to talk to RuiZhi, too. She knew the young boy idolized the doctor, and while that was dandy, she wasn't about to let him become the next Kenth Larine...and goodness knows he was well on his way to it. "You've got people that love you, didi. Even if you can't stand us sometimes. We're always here for you."

Wei looked away, a slight flush on his face. He wasn't really the mushy type. "A-ah..." Slowly he leaned onto her, still not looking at the darker woman. "I just...don't like seeing you like this. It's not the Alex I know."

Well what was he trying to do, make her even more girly? The woman blinked in wide-eyed surprise as Weiyuan made a rare show of affection, her throat threatening to close with deeply quelled emotion. "I'm not too familiar with this Weiyuan myself," she said softly, extending an arm to drape lightly over his shoulders so that he may move away at any time, giving him a gentle squeeze, "but I kinda like him." Alex pressed a quick, non-gooey kiss to the boy's head, willing all her gratitude and love to reach him for his small but genuine show of concern.
"Don't worry. That raving lunatic you're used to will be back soon. Even crazies need a break sometimes."

The brunette nodded slowly, leaning more on her. He groaned, hand going to his head. Damn. She did hit hard. He still had a headache, and most likely was going to be off balance the moment he stood. He didn't really trust himself with walking either. "Could you help me back to my room? I'm still kinda dizzy..."
