"I know it wasn't" Kenth replied defiantly, as he was a little frustrated by Wei's prior comment which he chose to ignore. "But with those beings spreading out powers like this, what can the few other Chinese do?" He thought of the Chinese government, about how powerless it was when dealing with serious issues. "When the war broke out, China was one of the countries that was nearly destroyed. I cannot help myself but to think if the demon's awakening...whatever they call it, had influenced on majority of the people still living in China."
Kenth eyed Wei, and remembered how the boy looked when they had first met. "I'm sorry, I know you are worried, but there's really nothing you can do right now."

Wei's eyes narrowed considerably. If something had gotten the his area he would know. If something happened to anyone in his family he would know. He thought of his little sister, she was the cutest thing ever and oh how she adored him. Always attached to his leg, calling him Ei all the time. "Don't say something that you don't understand. It's not your homeland. You don't have a tiny baby sister at home waking up each day calling for her older brother to come play with her only to realize that he's not there. Again." Each word was slow, controlled and tense. His fists were stuffed deep into his pockets, gripping at his thigh. He would do something. He wouldn't stand to be useless.

Kenth sighed. Why did it have to come to this? He looked at Wei in the eyes this time, his gaze solemn, perhaps with regret.
After what seemed to feel like a long time Kenth said quietly, "I suppose I don't." Then he stopped looking and turned to his desk, shuffling his papers around absently and turning on his laptop.
"Thank you for your service, Wei." Kenth continued without turning back to the boy. "If there's nothing else, you should go rest."

Wei gritted his teeth, turning in his heels abruptly. He didn't expect it to happen. But it did. No regrets. It wasn't either of their faults. Not at all. Wei turned the knob, opening the door only slightly. The brunnette remembered the look on Kenth's face when he first entered. He looked outside, turning his head only slightly towards the doctor. "Whatever it is, she'd give you another chance. You both need one." With that he left, determined to go back to his dorm room to send a letter home and some sketches he knew Mei would enjoy.

Kenth didn't move, although he winced visibly as if he was just stun by a bee. There was no time for Kenth to say anything or to react further against the boy's last words that only he and Wei knew the meaning of. The young doctor leaned back against his chair, eyes blinking and unfocused. Did he act obviously disturbed?
Kenth shook his head. The boy was too smart...simply too smart for his liking.
