Twilight shrieked yet again as Bell raked her talons across her back. The attack drew fresh blood this time as she was already wounded.
Whimpered, she tucked her tail between her legs and jumped to a platform away from her.
"Oh come on! This is seriously not the time to back down!" Piney shouted, a little frustrated at her actions. "We're not done until we're done! Give her the best Shadow Ball you can muster!"
The Absol knew that she was right, but the scratches just hurt so much!
Trying to ignore the pain, she took a deep breath and yet again formed a dark pulsing ball of energy. Twilight growled a bit before launching it at Bell.

"Hit it back with a Mega Kick!" Renekai shouted the order without thinking, much how Luna did sometimes.
Bell hesitated for an instant. was her trainer insane? Well, here goes... Bell kicked the Shadow Ball with all her might, causing injury to herself. Now too see if Shadow Balls could be kicked back...

Twilight thought that kicking the Shadow ball back at her wasn't possible, but the sphere coming right back at her proved that false.
She tried to duck under it, but it was coming too fast. It smacked her backwards, almost into the water if she didn't cling to the edge in time.
The only way that Twilight could still win this was some lucky critical hits or misses... Piney highly doubted that it could be pulled off but she's climbed out of tougher situations like these before.
"Give her another Psycho cut!"
Twilight got back up onto the platform, shaking some water off her wet legs and tail before creating another blade of psychic energy. She aimed carefully before flinging it at the Delibird.

"Quick Attack!" Renekai ordered. The battle was coming to a close!
Bell Dodged the worst of the attack by speeding around it, but she still got a shollow nick on her wing. Ouch. That stung. Bell felt herself tiring, but she would pull through. Bell, seemingly a blur of color, hurled herself into the air to land a fierce attack on Twilight. When Bell battled, she battled hard.

Bell's shadow fell across Twilight, who didn't take the time to look up and just darted forward. Effectively dodging her attack, she now had a clear shot at the Delibird's back.
"Yes!" Piney shouted somewhat quietly. She didn't want to upset the other trainer's feelings.
"Night Slash! Hope for a critical hit!" She called out. A critical hit is what they need, and what the opponent needs to finish the Absol off.
Twilight focused on creating this blade with more malviolent energy than before. It was thinner than last time, but its sharper edge gleamed while it streaked towards Bell.

Bell squawked as the blade cut accross her body. More blood fell to the floor in droplets. The wound wasn't too bad, despite the red puddles. Bell landed carefully so as not too strain herself and make the wound worse. She'd need to finish this fast. She felt herself tiring as the wound took its toll. Well, she couldn't move much with the wound, so that meant that she'd need to use...
"Ice Beam!"
Bell opened her beak and a small blue-white ball appeared. As it grew, it gradually moved out of Bell's beak until it was the size of a basket ball. Bell then released her hold on it and the beam sped towards Twilight. This time, the chill would only mean pain.

Twilight winced as the ice beam blasted her in the face, forcing her off the platform. Seeing the water down below, she made herself twist and turn, landing on her feet on another platform. She did NOT need to made herself more cold than she already was, dunking herself in the pool.
The battle was going to end. The determining fate was either Twilight getting a critical hit now or Bell missing on her next move.
She clenched her teeth as she commanded the hopefully winning move. "Hidden Power!"
Her back ached painfully after twisting her body to land on her feet properly. She tried to concentrate on the glowing orbs that began to surround her, knowing that it was down to the wire. And as she unleashed them with full fury, Twilight wasn't going to let any back pain get in the way!

Both Pokémon were a hit away from fainting. Renekai could easily see that. This was going to be a very close battle. But... Bell would win! She had to! Though she was exhausted, she would fight on. She would. Wouldn't she? "Bell?" Renekai asked. "Can you do it? For me?" Renekai was nearly begging now.
Bell's mind was sluggish. Those flying balls hurt. Badly. Why was she here? Oh, right. Fight. Must win. Make Renekai proud of her. That's what you gotta do. Make your trainer give you something yummy to eat. But now Bell would rather have a soft bed to lie on... No. Win. That was all that mattered. Bell ran at the Absol with a sudden burst of speed. "I," Bell screeched at Twilight. "I!" she repeated, louder this time. "I. WILL. WIN!!!" Bell punctuated each word with a leap from side to side. On the word 'win', Bell slapped Twilight accross the face with one of her wings. At least, that was her intention...
Renekai was very much surprised at Bell's sudden reserve of strength. Well, Bell wasn't one to lie down and let other Pokémon walk all over her...

Twilight winced one last time as Bell's wing slapped her across the face. Her last strength was sapped away, and her body fell over, off the platform edge.
Piney and Daybreak was going to be so mad at her!
Piney recalled the fainted Absol before she touched the water. Her fingers felt numb from her first defeat, but it was bound to happen anyway.
"That... was really close. Bell looked as though she was going to faint any minute!" She attacted her Pokeball to her belt before handing her a hand to shake.

Bell gave a tired chirp to announce her first victory. Using her last bit of strength, Bell remained standing until Renekai took pity and returned her to her Pokéball where she could sleep without showing weakness.
Renekai strode over to the other trainer and shook hands. "Bell's dead on her feet," Renekai stated, grinning. "Twilight's a great Absol. I wish you two luck in future battles! Let's do this again sometime."
