Sabrina walked through the gates, her hand on the hilt of her katana. Her brown eyes looked around. "This seems like a place I can fit in perfectly," she claimed. She wasn't scared of any place that apparently seemed impossible for humans to get into.

She smirked slightly and looked at the people around her. "So... now to find out what exactly I can do here," she told herself. She released her katana and stepped forward confadently, her dark purple cape flickering about her, and the chains around her arms and feet rattling with each step she took.

Tomoro hesitantly stood at the edge of the gate, observing it carefully. Such an intricate design it had.... and to think, it wasn't burned whatsoever by the heat that enveloped around her. It must had been magically infused with some kind of power in order to not melt. Of course, nobody would ever expect Tomoro to come here. No plants, endless heat... she would die if she stayed to long in here. She knew she normally wouldn't be able to get in through here if she was a human... but was she? Was she really? Lifting up her eyepatch, a small black light seemed to emerge out of it, and the gates opened, creaking and clacking in tune with eachother.

It was her eye that let her in, surprisingly. It did contain pure evil, after all. A fresh burst of flame erupted in front of her, and the fume of smoke and ashes reached her delicate nose, sending her back a few steps. Dear God... I think I'll die in here... Gulping deeply, Tomoro walked forward a few steps, not even knowing where she was going; red and black surrouded her. Completely.

It was then that she noticed a small opening, almost a cave, to the left of her. It looked like it would fit one person. Cautiously, Tomoro got down on her hands and knees, gasping lightly; the ground was so hot! She crawled slowly, heading into the cave, black ashes smearing along her clothes, hands, and feet. She then lay down, curled up in the fetal position, letting the fiery heat get to her senses. Yes, she would lose conciousness. Yes, she would be close to death... but it was better than turning into a puppet.

Anything was better than that, even death.

Tomoro took a deep breath of the fiery air; it burned her lungs, and she began to cough uncontrollably, putting her delicate hands up to her mouth, blood beginning to come out, smearing across her lips and fingers. Just the first stage. Why had she come here again? To die? To think things over? To let herself know that she had absolutely no hope left in her whatsoever?

It didn't matter. She was doomed either way.

Curling up even tighter, Tomoro suddenly felt a cold chill next to her, and tilted her head over quickly to see if anything was the cause of it. There was nothing there. For some reason, she then felt a very warm sensation within her; not one that was caused from the heat of the area, but rather, her heart itself. What was it? What could cause her to feel so happy in such a barren, deathly area? Tomoro somehow made her way back out of the cave, and stood up, looking around her. Yes, her senses were collapsing inside of her, and she felt like she was going to pass out... but something had led her out of here.

Grandmother... are you telling me not to give up? Despite the heat, and the burns she had gotten from lying down, Tomoro made her way back to the gate, and it opened, closing behind her. There has got to be a place... that I can thank grandma... oh! The church. Burned up and bloody, she coughed up a few more drops of blood, and made her way to the church, or wherever else fate took her.

Seiya stared at the gate,

"It's hot." She commented mildly; pushing the gate with her powers it opened easily before her, a little surprised she walked a little further in.

"So, this is the so-called 'point-of-no-return', what are they so afraid of? It's just a little fire." She continued walking along the path as if she were on a stroll instead of the entrance to hell itself. She whistled and the fire-ridden walls echoed the sound back.

A few minutes later she felt something on her arm, her shirt had caught on fire, putting it out with her sweater she tied it back around her waist and looked back and forthe curiously.

"You would think other people would come here; I wonder if I'm the only thrill seeker around..." She sat down on the ground, mindless of the heat.

So..only people with hearts of pure darkness could get very far in here? Or darklings themselves? Seiya didn't seem to have a problem coming through and she certainly wasn't a darkling...

Evil? ...Possibly...

She had to laugh at that comment, she'd been called a lot of names but was this place declaring her, truly malevolent, she checked her cell phone; it had fallen apart under the heat. Half-melted. She threw it over her shoulder; Seiya'd have to buy a new one now and soon she would be looking for her.

She shrugged, so what if the twerp fried to death in here? It was her own fault for not being a good girl and going to her music lesson as she'd been told.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been a whole two hours since she'd begun walking through here.
At least that's what she thought; he watch had broken a while ago.
"Damn...need a new watch too." Her shoes clicked emptily.
"IT'S HOT! AND BORING!" She yelled, listening to the echo of her own voice.
Seemingly hearing something she rubbed her ears, "Shut up, like anyone asked you, "Oooh, the scary voices say 'BEWARE!', Pssssbh. Whatever."
A few minutes later she squinted against the red-orange glow of flames, a round object nesstled in between a few rocks and and ashes.
"What's...that?"
Reaching for it her fingers touched the surface lightly.
"OW!"
It was hot...of course.
She tried to pick it up with her sweater and suceeded...in getting it a few feet away before her sweater turned to ashes.
Looking annoyed she observed it closely.
"It looks like an egg."
She attempted to pick it up once again ignoring the burning pain which dimmed to a dull warmth a few seconds later.
"I'd better to turn back..." She said glancing at her hands, they'd need medical attention if she didn't want them to scar...
Seiya looked down the path, it was eerily quiet...except for the dull roar of flames, she could have sworn it was louder before...
She hurriedly made her way back the way she came...holding the egg to her chest.
As soon as she entered the gate she could feel the heat again although it didn't seem as intense as before. She stood outside the black gates that looked red-hot to the touch. Pausing before them she looked past at the sea of molten-red that spread as far as one could see.
It'd probably be easy to get lost,
It shoudl be easy to get lost;
Why hadn't She?
Everything looked exactly the same. A gust of warm air blew around her and her hair blew as if caught it a wind tunnel; "That's new." She remarked as she tightened her headband, "If you're sure..."
She reached to touch the gate and before her hands could make contact the red gems on it sparkled and sprang open. Creaking heavily.
"Well. It's hot." He too looked around. It seemed as familiar as the temple he'd been to before; the heat was the least of his problems then, so he wasn't worried about it now. That didn't change the fact that he felt annoyed at being here, but his curiosity was stronger than his distaste.
Kumizu jumped hearing the gate creak open, thrown back into reality. "Yes, I am sure. I'd like you to show me where you found it." He walked through the area, following Seiya. There wasn't any need for lights; the fire itself lit up everything. The heat would have been unbearable for most people, but he hadn't broken a sweat yet. If you touched his skin, you'd notice it was cooler than normal; however, this extra protection also cost him energy and he leaned on his cane, again, a bit more than usual.
Kumizu wasn't any Darkling, but he had no problem moving deeper and deeper into the Abyss.
Pausing a moment allowing Heero to catch up, "Oh, goody. Don't die; I won't carry your body back." She walked further in despite not being a water elemental (and not being able to cool down) she didn't seem to have a problem with the heat.
On the contrary she seemed cold, her skin was covered in faint goosebumps.
As they walked a bit further in ashmarks could be seen on the walls as if something had come through recently dragging itself over the place.
The heat go more intense as they got further, and as before Seiya seemed to be getting colder.
((Well, I thought Heero was going to respond, but whatever.
And do you assume my character is a water elemental?)
They had been walking through the Abyss a couple of hours now. The were some doorways, twists and turns, but it was all one central path. The marks on the walls continued, on both sides of them; some places deeper, some places more shallow. Kumizu noticed Seiya had begun to shiver, though with all of this heat he didn't even know. He regretted not having a jacket, or a shirt, or something he could wrap around her. But, there was nothing he could do, just treat her if she got a cold later on. "We've been walking for quite awhile. Are we getting close to where you found that object?"
[He is, right? xp ]
"Yes, we should be there soon." She said absently, seemingly thinking about something else. "Just a bit further."
Desite what she said they walked for another hour before she suddenly stopped;
"Wait, something's not right..." She trailed off, she dug through her bag and pulled out the object. It shook and rattled with increased dark energy.
Just bit further, Kumizu thought sarcastically to himself after fifty minutes. Ten after that, Seiya suddenly stopped. "What's wrong?" She pulled out the object and he couldn't help but stare at it. Something seemed to be calling him, like he needed it. He recognized the voice he used, and in any other circumstances, he would've kept his guard up. Instead, he reached for it, a strange look in his eyes. "May I... May I hold it?" Kumizu knew he would get it one way or the other, even if Seiya tried to hide it from him.
Seiya raised an eyebrow and carefully handed it to him, while she did suck as an empath; she wasn't stupid. Body language and tone were easy to pick up on.
Tensing her muscles a bit she scrutinized him wondering if this place really did drive 'normal people' crazy.
It was supposed to be the 'Gate to Hell'.
Then, as if a lightbulb had suddenly turned on; she realized why she couldn't feel dark energy. It was obvious, she should have realized it earlier.
Kumizu practically snatched it out of Seiya's hand. He held it as if it were a sacred artifact, not letting it drop, even if by chance. The man's voice was stronger and coming at him from all sides. He recognized the voice, but when he normally would have tried to get away, he begged for him to speak again.
It soon became clear to Kumizu. He knew what he needed to do before leaving. Holding the item to his chest, he generated a sword in his other hand. He ran at Seiya, slashing at her.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 16, 2006 5:47 pm
Seiya gasped and stumbled backwards, startled; the sword catching the end of her hair and slicing a good inch clear off.
"Stop it; you're acting foolish. Give it back and surrender and I won't have to hurt you." Her eyes narrowed almost into slits, her feet were planted in a fighting stance, he probably wasn't going to listen to her if he had attacked so quickly.
Damn, there was going to be no choice...
Kumizu's voice had changed, not just his body language. It sounded mixed between his and the one he'd been hearing. "You did the right thing by bringing it to me. Now I'm sorry, but I need to make sure you stay out of my way. You won't take it away from me!" He ran at Seiya, the sword aimed right at her stomach.
