He buries it while he is saying, "Maybe leaf-bare is letting loose of its cold grip earlier this time. I hope so!" He finds a squrriel coming out of its tree and lunged at it but missed. "Mouse dung!"

Leopardpelt Rose up from the ground whee she'd been crouching. Dirt clung to her paws with the added moisture of the wet ground aiding it. Her mought was likewise covered in the dirt. She shook her head softly and clumps fell softly from her jaw line. She lowered her head and gathered the Burdock roots she'd dug up. She twitched her nose softly as she gathered the Roots in her mouth before padding off back to the camp. She'd awoke before sun-up and the brisk and chilly leaf-bare day was relaxing to her. The storm was approching Fast soon the forest would be coated in a thick blanket of snow. Leopardpelt neared the camp still in thought.'Catmint. I need to gather more of that. I'm not sure if everyone has enough to last them through leaf-bare.'

Spicepelt stopped. "Still no prey scent. We should go back to camp." She sighed, but grabbed her prey and walked the path to camp.

He got his prey and walked back with Spicepelt.

"I hate leaf-bare...let's hope for Greenleaf soon." She picked up her little prey. "Skinny prey, and barely of it. At least the queens and elders will get fed properly. I think we'lll have enough for the medicine cat, too, if we get all the hunting patrols together." Spicepelt got to camp. "At least, there isn't a shortage on water. We can live with little prey." She thought peacefully for a while before she spoke. "RiverClan must be suffering, the lake froze." RiverClan would usually be best fed, but now...all the Clans were suffering leaf-bare. "Come on, Scarhead, we're here." She dropped her prey at the fresh-kill pile. She stared hungrily at it, but dared not eat it.

He dropped his prey and decided to ask his leader if he could lead the next potrol.

Spicepelt sighed, and wondered what to do. She went to the leader, Icestar. "Icestar, do you mind, if, I can just go mark the borders? I'm not leading a patrol, I just want to make sure no cats stray onto our terriotry."

Icestar nodded. "Yes Spicpelt. You can go. Scahead, you can go with her if you wish. Then come back here and get some rest." She turned and padded towards the medicine cats den.

Spicepelt walked out, and mewed to Scarhead, "You can lead this." She wanted to stay behind a little, for some reason. "You like leading patrols, even if this isn't one."

Icestar poked her head inside the medicine cats den. "Leopardpelt, have you eaten yet? We can't have our medicine cat getting sick."
