Ears flicking he watched Morgana as she watched the snow swirling in little eddies outside their rocky shelter. He watched the happiness fade from her expression and felt his chest grow just that little bit heavier. He had said something to ruin the mood and he wanted to cheer her up again.

Truthfully he couldn't see why she wouldn't believe him when he complimented her.. but then he could understand that she probably had her reasons. The world wasn't all light and happiness, that much he knew for himself.

Dipping his head to keep his gaze on her as she laid her own down upon the cold snow-patterned rock, ears flicking back slightly. Smiling softly he ruffled her fluffed up mane with his lips, ears pricking forward playfully. "Then I wont leave. For I doubt there is another like you anywhere I could look, except right here..." A warm huff of his breath teased her ear before he lifted his head back.

Meeting that shadowed look with his own warm steel gaze he smiled softly. "I could be utterly corny here, so I will. 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder', is it not? And anyway, no one and nothing is perfect. It is a state far above our simple reach. I enjoy interesting or intriguing characters. Perfection or the lack of it holds no interest for me. If the world was perfect, it would be boring, I think anyway."

Closing his mouth he chuffed softly, laughing at himself and his mini-speech. Damn he must sound such an idiot...

The mare's shiver prompted his attention back to her and he carefully, almost cautiously, shifted closer to her, till his bright sapphire coat brushed against her own more natural-hued body. "There is no need to apologise for your own nature. As I wont apologise for mine. I know that I am too chatty and curious and tend to get into other's own space.. but that’s me. You are who you are, and if you weren't.. we probably wouldn’t be talking like this. I know I certainly don't regret it." He replied in a far softer and gentler tone than he normally used. Dipping his head he lightly touched his muzzle to her cheek, hoping to comfort her a little.

He couldn't help but chuckle at her comment, head tilting slightly. "I don't know.. I’m hardly a good male by any standards... there are many out there that are better than my simple self." He was young, but he was also a realist, or so he thought. He wasn't the fastest, the bravest, the smartest or the most handsome.. he was who he was and he was happy with that.

He relaxed once the mare settled, pleased that his possibly unwarranted move had been accepted. Stretching out a foreleg he rubbed his cheek on his bony knee, ears flicking back briefly. Lifting his head again at her comment he grinned playfully at her. "I’m strange am I? Well, thank you.. I think that is a great compliment." Lifting his head he ruffled her mane with his muzzle. Something about her made him want to cheer her up and reassure her, and he was becoming fasinated by her mane.. he couldn't help it.

"Then that’s their loss... all the more for me right?" He chuckled in a friendly manner. "But seriously.. I like you. You are sweet and amusing and friendly. I am very much enjoying our conversation and being her with you. I think that those others didn't know what was before them when meeting you." Tilting his head he studied her, grey eyes honest.

Cloud grinned back at her, grey eyes sparkling playfully. “You mean ‘strange’ isn’t usually ment as a compliment?” Ears pricking he listened attentively, one brow lifting at her last words as he tilted his head. Studying her with a warm smile. “Then they are simply low-lifes. You certainly deserve better than that.”

He watched her shift and eyed the braid as it settled in the wrong place, trying to resist the urge to correct it. Surely she would get annoyed at him if he kept interfering with her mane. Unable to help himself he lifted his muzzle and pushed it back into place, chuckling softly as he did it. “Sorry… I can’t seem to help it.” He grinned at her, head tilting. The move made his own upright mane shift and flex.

Cloud chuckled softly and nodded his head, ears flopping slightly. "Thank you, on both accounts."

Turning he followed her gaze, wondering what had caught her attention. His own legs were cramping slightly. Shifting his bulk he pulled his forelegs out and stretched them infront of himself. At least the snow had calmed down along with the wind.

Looking back at the mare at his side he tilted his head. "Think we will be able to go out soon?" He asked. He wanted to spend more time with Morgana, his natural friendliness had gotten him there, but now he was genuinly interested. She was so different to anyone he had known, she fasinated him. Her humour and view on life made him want to stay longer, to talk longer...

He rather hoped that when they left their shelter, she would let him stay with her for at least a little longer.

Cloud tilted his head at her, one ear forwards, the other to one side in puzzlement. "The demon?" He enquired softly, grey eyes curious yet serious. He had been wandering alone and had heard nothing of a loose demon, but then he hadn't seen or heard from another soquili for days, not until he litterally stumbled on Morgana's shelter.

Offering a soft smile he turned his head to look out at the snow-covered landscape outside their shelter. "It would take a hard wind to rid us of this deep snow right away. But I hope you are right, to feel the sun's warm touch would be heaven after this cold." Her motions caught his eye and he turned back, head tilted slightly. Something bothered her but he wasn't sure what. Maybe the comment about the demon?

Cloud's smile faded, eyes soft, kindly. "I'm sorry..." He murmured softly. After a moment he shifted alittle, lifting his head over Morgana's mane and giving her a small half-hug, neck arched over the mare's own. Cheek brushing agianst her soft brown coat lightly. The best he could do with them stuck on their bellies in the cave.

He didn't look out at the shadows that worried his companion. Instead he watched her, wishing he would make her smile again but what could you say to that? He would't lie and tell her it was all ok, or that he wouldn't let her get harmed. Of course he would protect her if the demon turned up, but as he did not know the one she spoke of he couldn't be possertive he would defeat it. He had not yet fought a kolona.

Offering her a soft smile touched her neck lightly. "I did not see anyone out there on my traval here..."

He nodded softly at her reply, gaze watching her. Her sudden movement made the stallion's head snap round to stare out over the glittering white landscape. Blue ears pinned back against his head momentarily, grey eyes loosing all the humour they normally exhibited as he studied the area close by.

He may have been untried against a kolona and unsure of his skills against one such as his companion spoke of, but it was obvious that he was no shrinking violet. He was a mature, youthful stallion and was fully prepared to do as he thought was right.

Once assured that nothing was going to jump them he relaxed again, gaze returning to the mare at his side. "The wind is dropping, soon we may be able to venture out. If you wish, I will accompany you to where ever you are headed. I’m just a wanderer, I have no set destination..." His voice was soft, questioning.
