Basses rock! I have been playing for about 5 years now. And yes, getting hit in the head with your tuning pegs really stinking hurts! I dropped my friends bass on his head..lol I almost made him get stitches sweatdrop

basses are one of the best sections just because we are under apriciated(sp) cuz were trying to show we deserve attention just as much as any of the other sections!!! xd

I love your blue bass. I wish I were better at playing mine. My bass has all these horrid cracks in it. Oh how I wish I had a better one. My Father wants me to learn bass guitar now.......

I_Ranched_It You want unappreciated? Try the viola. Most composers won't even write in our clef, and switch unnecesarily into treble. I can read treble, but it is a hassle switching back and forth. Secondly, we are often told we are "un-needed" in the orchestra, and that we're totally obsolete when it comes to solo playing. HELLO???!!!! Hindemith, Stamitz, Hoffmeister, Walton, Bartok, Mozart! They all wrote killer pieces for the viola. And we have beautiful tone despite the awkward build of the instrument-- it should be around 21 inches, but that's physically impossible to play. We're a key part in chamber music-- Ever heard Brahms 69? Or Smetina? Don't get me wrong-- the jokes are hilarious and we can be a little strange. But so many string players don't take the viola seriously, and some of us have a true passion for it. Sorry to interupt your happy little thread-- I love the double bass. I just needed to vent. Continue. Violas are needed!!! Trust me!!! I'm a bassist but Violas are like Violin and Cello combined which equals awesomeness

u know how everyone is told to listen back to the bass....
and no one does and and the rest of the orchestra gets out of time...
while the basses are keeping the temp....yeah...ok im done...haha blaugh
