ayukichan I Macar Its the same concept as the GameBoy Pocket. It has no real tech advancement but it is just a neat little gadget that is smaller than the original. Yeah, well then how about the make a DS micro? *stupid sarcasm* xp I would like to see them try to do that. If they could actually manage to shove the dual screens into a smaller case while keeping the same screen size and having it be just as playable it would be quite the feat. It also would be quite pointless.

I had a SP, but it got stolen at a christin camp that I worked at, (I dropped it somewhere, some camper probably stole it) so now I have regular GBA that used to be my brothers. I might get the micro, once it's cheaper, it might be fun to have.
but to answer the question, No, we don't NEED it. we don't need any of these things, we just WANT it.

Here is what i think:
Casual/Already has GBA - Get
Casual/Already has SP - Get
Casual/Already has DS - Pass
Casual/Has nothing - Get
Hardcore/Already has GBA - Get
Hardcore/Already has SP - Get DS
Hardcore/Already has DS - Get
Hardcore/Has nothing - Get Micro or DS, depending on money

(The GameBoy Pocket, the Advance Sp and the new designed Pstwo) But EC is wrong about the DD cause that was add on, not a upgrade xp The SP isn't like the GameBoy Mirco(Meaning that it isn't an "Expansion") Both are. Both are taking the idea of the Gba and making it better. Sp gave us a clamshape to protect the screen, it is smaller than the GBa and it has a frontlight and recharable battery The Micro is a smaller lighter than the Gba with a completly better screen and is totally backlit with a rechargeable battery. Both are like the GBPocket was to the GB, smaller, better screens and better battery.
But isn't the entire history of the GameBoy about 'expansion'/giving it a new design?
There have only been 3 major improvements in the GameBoy's 16 years of life:
1 = Color
2 = Light
3 = Rechargeable

I'm thinking about getting one....the adjustable light would be nice. the DS's light bugs me sometimes, it seems like if its about dawn/dusk the its just not bright enough...and even with the light on in full daylight you have to have it at a pretty good angle to see well in Castlevania....its like it either has to be really bright or really dark to be able to see the screen....but I still love my DS. xp sweatdrop

I agree with you for the most part, but the point he's trying to convey is that technology wise GBA has never really advanced. But I think that as long as its games are good there's really no need for it. 3nodding

yea, its the games that make a system great, not how tech savy it is....to a certain extent anyway.
....it annoys me that they keep making the cartridges smaller though. If they can fit that much on a DS cartridge, imagine how much they could fit on a original GameBoy cartridge now.

If they can fit that much on a DS cartridge, imagine how much they could fit on a original GameBoy cartridge now. Well size doesn't necessarily matter. I think the chipsets of both DS cards and GB carts are built differently from each other and in a way that the DS still holds much more data than an old cart would have ever.....

The DS 'chips' are too small.
But Nintendo did a hell of a job with Mario Kart DS. =3
iProd: The size hasn't really changed that much until now..
All of the previous GameBoys were about the same size..
