She could smell Key's growing excitement and anticipation and it served to increase hers as well. Vellamo went quiet, waiting for him to make the first move.. to spur on the attack. She moved stealthily alongside him.. although neither probably realized how much they stood out in the dark with their glowing... but maybe the bug wouldn't notice. She waited patiently.. even though her tails twitched with excitement. She didn't want to mess up this opportunity and Key had more experience than she. This was her first hunt of sorts and an opportunity for her to learn.

And notice he didn't. Pullus' eyes remained shut, as he sang quietly to himself upon the rock. Blue spotted tails slowly curled around his body, he was at peace, and sensed the presence of no one. The Angelic's pink halo bobed up and down above his head, as he shifted a forepaw, to gently rest his head upon it. He hadn't been to the rocks for a couple days and well he was just soaking in the moonlight now. The cool feel of the large rock that he lay upon under the stars (which he really never paid any attention to). It was very very calming, and it was a place he could laze about and muddle in this thoughts and nightmares.
Well. Any other night.
The look that was plased upon Skeleton Key's features would have most definatly been described as deranged. The male crept forward, his large paws amazingly making very little noise for the other to pick up on. He would not let his nor Vellamo's presence known, for that would ruin it all. That could allow the bug to escape and he was not about to let such things happen. No, not when they were so close. "Follow. One. One." the Nightmare hissed under his breath, before breaking out into a dash soon leaping for the Angelic lazing upon the rock.
By the time Pullus had realized it, it was too late. Duel coloured eyes shot open, as he turned his head, only to watch as the large dirt coloured male plunged his pearly....tan teeth into one of his wings. CRUNCH. The sandy coloured Angelic let out a peircing scream as the Nightmare pulled back, riping out a good cluster of feathers. There was a slight strugle before Pullus managed to push Skeleton Key's maw back with a hind leg, quickly spreading his wings in attempts to get to higher ground.
Not that it worked all that well. THUD. He had made it to the next rock, but it certainly wasn't high enough that the Nightmare couldn't reach. The Angelic's brows furrowed, as he let out a rumbling growl. He had been snuck up on, oh how humilating! "W'll if it is't m' new p'l." he spat, fur standing on end. The male stiffed, as he droped his wing, he couldn't keep it held up any longer. A few more feathers detatched themselves from his wing, gently floating down from the rock, blood trickling down with them. "Tel' m' 'ey! C'n Nigh'mares, 'ave nigh'mares? A-" a pause, as his eyes spoted a glow of blue. A deep breath was taken, as Pullus noted that Skeleton Key was not alone, no not this encounter. It seemed that he had brought a friend with him. Not something that was looking good for the Angelic. He had been snuck up on, and a wing had been taken out of the picture. His advantage of flight would not be able to help him.
"Foolish. Five. Three. You will be no more tonight? No more..."
Pullus tried his best to ignore the male Nightmare, as his attention had turned to the female, glowing in the not too far from where he stood. "An' who's ar' y'?!" he hissed to the blue glow.

And follow she did, the faithful to a fault Vellamo moving quietly after Skeleton Key and in a similar manner to him. She had learned a lot from her, probably an unfortunate thing really, but to her he was everything.. he and the keys. They were all, and she wanted to be a part of it. She seemed to be rather blindly loyal, but if it worked for her.. and it did, then it worked. It couldn't be said that her existance was miserable. She grinned toothily in the anticipation of the fight.
When Key made his move, Vellamo quickly sprang into action.. hearing the sound of ripping feathers and the smell of blood. The smell was almost intoxicating... and then a question. "Vellamo... yes yes... little rabbit of the keys. One. Two. One. We are two. The keys will it." She grinned in a similarly deranged fashion to Key's before leaping for the angelic to grab and rip his other wing.

Vellamo, the little rabbit of the keys. Oh so the lacking a hairstyle of a Nightmare was giving out little pet names with his keys was he? She even spoke in a similar was to the larger Nightmare. Pullus stuck a tongue out in disgust, though he would have really appriciated it more, had the two attackers been able to see the motion. They wanted him dead, the keys wanted him dead, but he wasn't about to give in.
He turned as swiftly as he could, wincing in pain as he tried to raise his ripped wing high enough. The female was lunging at him now and he had to get out of the way, he could not afford any other problems, not if he wanted to get out of this with as little damage as possible. Or his life for that matter. He was a pretty good fighter, but his enemies had taken the element of surprise and had placed the fight in their favor. He'd just have to figure out how to turn the tables on them.
Skeleton Key slowly began to circle around the Angelic, shuffling his way as silently as possible to the back side of the rock the other male happened to be upon.
Paws kicked off, but it seemed to do nothing but hurt the Angelic's chances. Pullus let out another cry as the female's jaws came down upon his other wing, sending him crashing back to the ground. "...c'rp.." he hissed under his breath, his voice choking as he tried to roll, his claws swinging at the female's face.
"Torture. Five. One. Long and painful. You, bug will be squashed tonight. Nine. Nine. And wear your blood we will. Proudly." the Nightmare's hyena-esque laugh sounded, slowly fading away as his steps slowed. Torturing the Angelic would be quite enjoyable, keeping him alive as long as possible just listening as his life slowly faded away. Ah yes, this was what he loved about the hunt.

Vellamo got a mouth full of feathers.. and instinctively she latched on and yanked back and forth with her head to hopefully rip and tear the flight appendage she'd managed to get ahold of, tasting blood for the first time.
However, the angelic fought back and his paw swung at her face. Unable to see it coming, his claws hit the mark. She shrieked and pulled back, blood oozing from a series of long claw marks that went down her face. She'd never been hurt in such a fashion before, and was both horrified... and yet angry at the same time. She whimpered a little, but tried not to look too weak infront of Skeleton Key. It HURT though.
Shaking her head, Vellamo hissed and started to approach the broken winged one once more. They were here to kill and kill they would.

Pullus winced, his eyes shut, as he tried to ignore the pain. Feather's blue and black feathers fell to the ground, a muscle being torn in the process. He would not be flying anytime soon. The pain would even be too much to make a decent run for it. If the sandy Angelic wasn't careful the pain would end up causing his downfall. One's body could only handle so much pain before passing out after all.
Oh, if he still had his weapon, then maybe the tables wouldn't have turned on him in the first place. But walking around naked also ment having nothing to strap your weapon to...That and he didn't eactly have his weapon at home either. He'd have to make another, if he really wanted one..Which at the moment he did, but that didn't exactly help in the current situation. "Y' s'tp'd nigh'mares!" he snarled, as he broke free from Vellamo's grip (or rather when she had pulled her head back from his strike). The male's teeth grinded, ears pressing against the back of his skull. A rumbling growl was coming from his throat, but that wasn't stopping the female Nightmare from moving in.
The Angelic was about to leap at the female's legs when he was tackled in the side, by the other male. Skeleton Key snarled, "Stupid little bug. Yessssss? Five. Eight. You're not supposed to be harming the Little Rabbit." He could taste Vellamo's blood in the air, lightly mixed in with the blood of the stupid bug's. How dare he! How dare the bug harm a Nightmare!
Pullus squirmed away from beneath the mucky brown male's large paws. Limping as he backed up. Crap, Skeleton Key was much much heavier then he looked (and with his large size, he looked heavy enough). The Angelic's back pressed up against one of the rocks. Crap. Crap. Crap.

Vellamo continued to approach the injured angelic, her ears perking up as she heard Skeleton key's less than happy words. The female's heart filling with pride that Key did seem to care, alteast somewhat, of what happened to her.
"Stupid little bug" she reiterated in a hissing tone, "Squash the bug... six, two.. squash, yes!" Her tails whipped back and forth, ears turning forward for as she got closer, she could hear the angelic's pulse. Which was undoubtably racing with his own hatred and fear. Teeth came to bare, for with the sound of his pulse, she could more easily strike a vital area.
With a snarl, Vellamo lunged forward, intending to get him back for marring her face and thus going for his throat.

Here it was. The moment he was going to die, right here, so soon and all alone. Ok so the alone part really didn't bother him, it was the fact that he knew if he had been given the right chance, if he had known about the attack he could have gone out with a bang. Everyone would have heard about it. THAT was how he wanted to go, but this wasn't it. The pain was so sharp, he couldn't even think clearly enough to use his power. Something which could have certainly aided him in this little event.
Nightmares, he could have made them live their worst nightmare. But nooooo, he wasn't strong enough for that at the moment, and he'd need to get closer. Something that he knew if he did chances were he wouldn't stay alive long enough for the power to take effect. His eyes shut, as he shook his head lightly. His sight was starting to blur. The female was snarling, ready to lunge.
---
The snowy Angelic was soaring through the skies, blue and pink eyes scaning the ground in search for his twin. It was getting late, and something just didn't feel right. He had a bad feeling he just couldn't shake, and he didn't know why. The pink haired male coughed, shutting his eyes tight for a moment. What was all that about? His body just felt like- And then he saw it.
There was Pullus about to get mauled. No! About to get killed, he looked like he had already been mauled. No! No! NO! Not his brother! Eyes widened, as the male fell into a dive. He had to go fast enough. Faster then that Nightmare was lunging at his brother. Oh please let him be fast enough. He wasn't going to die, his brother was NOT going to die!
WHOOSH.
Niveus' eyes squinted, as he let out a tiny cry. He had been fast enough. This time. Though that haden't stoped the larger Nightmare from jumping up with snapping jaws as he flew past, his twin being held tightly in his arms. The end of one of his tails had been grabed, a clump of fur being pulled from his skin. It would grow back. At least his brother was safe. Now he'd just have to tend to his wounds. He had to get home!
Skeleton Key's lips curled, the skin upon his maw wrinkling up like a blanket. "BUUUUUUUUUGS!" he shrieked into the air. His snout was raised as he let out a deep and loud growl, it rumbled through his throat. "Litte Rabbit! ONE. ONE. Little Rabbit let the bug ESCAPE!" He turned to the female, snapping his jaws close to her's. It was easy to tell he was angry. Now deep down he knew it wasn't Vellamo's fault, but they had been so close!
[ -was running out of ideas, so decided to have Niveus swoop in before Pullus got his throat riped out- 8D'' ]

Her jaws had aimed for a throat.. but what she got instead was a mouthful of fur from another angelic's tail. Needless to say... Vellamo was surprised... standing there dumbly for a few moments with the fur held in her teeth. The bug was gone.... taken away by another bug. Spitting out the fur, she snarled into the air... but then Key snapped at her.
Ears turned back and Vellamo ducked her head submissively. A little whine coming from her throat, "Sorry!" she apologized patheticly. Even if it wasn't really her fault... Key's wrath and the wrath of the keys was not something she wanted to come down upon her. She hadn't meant to let the bug escape! This was the first time Key had ever taken his anger out on her before, and like a frightened puppy she backed up a few steps and sat in her shame.

The male simply snarled as the female apologized. What was with that tone in her voice? So submissive and pathetic. Not with the natural air of dominace that a Nightmare should have. Skeleton Key frowned, the look upon his face remaining angered. "Little Rabbit. Should have moved faster! Five. Eight. Too slow! Yesssssssss." his voice was gruff, as he slowly took steps towards her.
"Little Rabbit bled for NOTHING!" his voice hissed, as his tails flicked wildly behind him. With that he slamed his foot down on the ground with a loud THUD. It wasn't to because he wanted to startle the female, oh no, it was just the old scars were acting up again. Another rumble came up from his throat as he growled. "Should have known! Nine. Nine one. Should have HEARD! The other bug coming. Should have! One one. Three." How could such a thing have happened. Such a thing was not supposed to happen. They were supposed to have been swimming in blood!

Vellamo was quiet as Key scolded her, her ears pressed back tightly... and while she was submissive.. she wanted to talk back as well. It wasn't fair that he should be placing all the blame on her.. but she respected Key. Even so... "You didn't hear. You didn't move... why is it my fault? You should have known!" She then silenced her bitter words... having wanted to kill the bug just as much as he had. She wanted to please him and make him proud.. but it didn't happen. The stupid bug got away.. and was it really all her fault? No no.. couldn't have been... it was just as much his fault than hers, right?

Skeleton Key moved his head back slightly as Vellamo finally talked back. Good, there was still proper Nightmare in her, but that didn't change the fact that he was not happy with what she had said. "What?! Four. One." he snarled, snapping his jaws. "The keys can not move fast. Fast like desperate little BUGS. Ten. Ten. Little Rabbit is younger. Faster. Yessssss?" The male stomped his foot once more. Stupid leg. Stupid bugs.
What would have been a perfect night. A perfect kill. Had been shot down by the last minute apperance of the other bug.
"The keys know. But the keys missed this? Six. Six. Little kings on their crumbling thrones. Little Rabbit was closer!" He moved closer, wrapping his tongue around Vellamo's maw feeling for where the bug's claws at met her face. "Stupid little bug..."

Vellamo frowned.. for in her mind he had a point. "Never killed before... rabbit never squash a bug.. no experience. Next time, I'll get." She bobbed her head resolutely, "Rabbit wants to make Keys happy.. proud. Yes." Tails lashed irritably... for it was as she said, she wanted to make him.. the keys too... proud of her. She wanted to be a good Nightmare, but she was barely out of kithood. "So close.." she muttered, claws raking the ground before his tongue coiled around her maw.
She sighed and winced... it stung, those claws from the angelic had scored deep and the marks still bled fresh. She was so weak... she needed to become stronger.

He grunted, large dark ears flipping back as she spoke. "Nex time. Two. Two. Next time it will be harder. The bugs will be ready." They had gotten lucky, catching the bug by surprise. He had gotten away and now they would know to be more careful. "Little Rabbit needs to train. Learn? Yessssss. Eight. One. The keys will be happy when there is blood."
A brow arched as the female winced. She had never killed before, yes. Did that mean she'd never been hurt before either? It certainly seemed that way. He uncoiled his tongue, licking his chops to clean of any of her blood that had found its way onto him. "Little Rabbit will be fine. Yessssss? Five one. One. It is not bad? Not bad." The wounds had felt deep, but they would heal with time. From what the male was used to, it seemed like a baby wound.

Harder... well that was certainly true. They knew that the two of them were out to catch them, and they would remember. Vellamo scowled at that thought then nodded, "Train yes... The key will have blood. Yes yes, Nine." She would make sure of that... she didn't want to disappoint again. Vellamo would make sure there was blood. Speaking of which... she licked the angelic's from her maw as well. Atleast they had injured it.
"Fine, yes" she affirmed with a nod, "Bug not fight for awhile, right? Not fly either." They had broken both of its wings, she was pretty sure. "Bug is weak, be easier to get?" Once they found it that is.. which might not be all that easy... plus there was the one that had taken it away. Huff.
