Luke read what the girl showed him and smirked. However, the smirk held traces of remorse and saddness, despair and dread.
"So you can read my thoughts," he said. "Bravo. Yes, Rose, I'm afraid we'll all be playing a game, when the rest of our party arrives. You see, I realize that this is supposed to be a safe haven for our kind, but the Guardians have prepared a test for us. Those who survive shall remain. Those who die... well, that's obvious, isnt' it?" Once again, that sorrowful smirk crossed his face, before Luke began to walk down the hall.

Sighing heavily, Rose looked down at her lap, which was awfully soaked in tea. She smacked her forehead and decided to go after Tuxedo, who, if he stayed true to her command, would be in the room of her choosing cleaning himself up.

Luke sat on his bed, shirtless, now stripping off his pants. It was unusually warm in here, and a cold shower would feel nice.
As he turned on the flow of water and stepped in, his thoughts wandered of the Guardians' tests to come, and what tasks they could possibly contain that some of they may or may not survive..

Rose sat, poised, upon her bed in nothing but a towel. "Is my shower ready?" The tuxedo cat marched its way out of the joining bathroom, pracing on its little white paws, and landed his bounding leap next to her. Then, the peculiar cat seemingly nodded. "Alright, thanks. I did think I heard water."
And she gracefully walked into the bathroom, and shut the door.

With the cold, pouring water came a wave of calm and realization. Four more people until the game could begin; what if they never came? What if it was just these three, and the Guardians couldn't do their little tests?
Nevertheless, he knew this wasn't so....

Cadence stood there, frozen in place, at a loss of what to do now. He wasn't entirely sure what had just happened, either. Games? A test? He decided to completely ingore that part about death... but, at least he knew what the young-looking female was called. "Rose. Pretty name," He mused aloud, looking around. Caden wondered about the other one, the male, too. Curious and just a little bit confused, Cadence took a few steps, thinking; rather, questioning if all vampires were as aesthetically pleasing as the ones he'd seen so far.

Almost an hour later, Rose came trodding out into the main living room and sat down on the couch with one of her favorite books-- ironically, Dracula. She didn't even look up when she sensed someone else come into the room.

Luke stepped out of the shower and quickly dried himself off, getting dressed in something a little more comfortable than what he'd had on before. He now wore a slim fit black tee shirt with a black overshirt, unbuttoned, with black armwarmers and dark blue jeans, faded at the knee.
Very modern.
He liked it.
He walked downstairs to find the new boy in a state of confusion.
"I'm sorry we just left you like that," he said, smiling at the boy's beauty.

He turned around, flashing the other boy a hesitant smile. "Oh. No, that is fine." Caden said in his usual quiet tones. The smile faded as his eyes flicked over the other, taking everything about his appearance in, his eyes widening slightly. Eventually, those wide eyes settled back on the boy's face. "I am Cadence Mace. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Luke stuck out his hand.
"I'm Luke McHale," he said, with the same handsome grin on his face. Trying not to smile too much for the pretty boy....

Hearing the boys' voices, Rose shut her book and placed it on the glass coffee table. Now curious, she entered the room to find them conversing. She curtsied slightly and gave the newcomer a bit of a warm smile.

As Luke studied Cadence's features, he saw Rose come in the room out of the corner of his eye.
"Hello, Rose," he said, flashing her a sample of the smile he was saving all for Cadence...

She nodded her head in acknowledgement and sighed. Tuxedo, making his usual appearance, leapt into her arms. She stumbled to the left a few steps, nearly running into the other guy. She turned pink and hung her head.

{( I hate writer's block! >.< Always clubbing you over the head when you least expect it, so's you can't write anything. What a jerk. But I'm lucky, I don't have it; I just have the computer from hell that keeps freezing, so my replies are all slow. )}
"Again, it is a pleasure. I-" He held up his hands to catch Rose's shoulders before she knocked into him. "Are you alright?" Caden asked, looking down at her. "Gods. I am not used to being around such attractive people.." He muttered. It took him a second to realize he'd said that out loud. Cadence's face took on it's own pinkish hue at that. "Ignore that, please. Pretend I never said that." Afraid they might take that the wrong way, he tried to backpeddle. "Well, not that you are both not attractve, but I did not mean it that way. That is to say, I did not mean to say it that way. Or at all, really. I..." He sighed, rubbed a hand over his face and tried to make the floor open up to swallow him. No such luck. "I think I will just stop talking now. Yes. A good idea."
