"Something like that, I suppose... Only you aren't imaginary." She had, of course, wondered if he was for a while... And probably would have thought that he was had it not been for the fact that both her mother and her brother had seen him as a boy. "I don't think that my imagination is all that good... Mother has told me a bit about what spring is like and I still can't picture it in my mind."

"Green." Or so he'd heard. He knew what green was but all he'd ever seen was the food he ate and he couldn't think of what his grandmother had meant by that.
"Maybe they're fibbing and it's nothing like what they say?"

"I don't see why they'd have any reason to tell us anything but the truth. It sounds... Beautiful, really." Then again, her mother told her that she was beautiful and, at the moment, she really didn't see that... So perhaps it was something completely different and it was all a matter of what one saw as compared to what another did.

"They could be trying to make sure we expect something so that we look at what the truth is differently. So we appreciate it more?" He didn't really get the point in that but it would explain why they couldn't imagine themselves what it was.

"Maybe." She smiled softly as she closed her eyes for a moment. "As much as I like the soft white of snow I am looking forward to the sun being a bit warmer... The nights have been cold enough that I've been glad to have a family to stay close to."

That was one reason he was glad for his oversized wings. He could stay warmer tucked under them than if he hadn been without. "Wings are good for that. Nice blankets"

"Mine worked better before I grew... Now they're a bit small for that." She nodded slowly as she glanced at her wings before turning her head towards the sky. "... Oh dear... I'll never make it back home before nightfall at this rate. I hadn't realized how late it was getting..." She was getting older, yes, so it mattered a bit less that she wouldn't be home... But the night would still be cold alone. She should at least try to make it back... Or find some sort of shelter.

He looked up and frowned slightly. "Could walk you home? Beasties'd get a mouth full of feathers before they got me." Which was always a plus even if that would mean he'd end up grounded for a while.
"Or .... know somewhere nearby that's not too bad at night." It had soft grass and trees and he hadn't had any problems there before.

"Oh, no... I wouldn't want to cause you any sort of trouble, Mordecai. Don't worry about me." She managed a soft smile, head tilting towards the stallion. "You should go find some place warm for the night."

"Warm comes with me." He fluffed his wings up and grinned at her. It just wouldn't be right to leave her out here all alone even if she had told him to get lost. If Mama or Grandma ever found out he'd never hear the end of it.
"Not trouble. Trouble'd be if i left you alone"

"I don't see how that would be trouble... I doubt you'd even think of me once you walked away." She rustled her own wings slightly in an attempt to hide the slight shiver that had raced down her back the moment she'd exposed her sides to the night air. "I'm sure I've taken up more than enough of your time... Adults don't pay much mind to silly little foals."

"If Mama and Grandma found out..." He'd be in serious trouble. You just didn't leave your friends all alone to freeze. Shifting slightly he draped one set of wings over her back.
"Friends right? Stick together." He nodded and nudged her shoulder slightly.

She shifted slightly so that she could stand a bit more comfortably beneath the fall of feathers that made up his massive wings. He was so different than her father was... Different from her brothers as well. Then again, that's what friends were, right? Nice creatures that were different than your family.
"Friends." She gave his neck a gentle nudge with his nose. "You said you knew a place that would be safe for the night? I won't get into much trouble as long as I can tell my mother that I was somewhere safe..."

He nodded and pointed with his wing. "That way." He nudged her in that direction with his wings knowing that he'd probably trip if he tried to walk with them over her.
There was a glen not far from there that had a rock wall at the back. It was safe to curl up next to it and sleep since nothing could get at your back.

She moved in the direction that she'd been pointed in, glad that the movement in general was bringing more warmth to her long limbs. "So..." She didn't want to walk in silence as they made their way to his safe place. Silence would just be... Strange. "... What have you been doing all of this time? Not getting lost yourself, I hope."
