SLIG Serj as been a Solo artist before he joined System. So doing it on his own wasn't much of a difference for him. Daron and John are doing S.O.B. and Shavo is with Wu-Tang. I know Serj didn't do E.T.D. on his own. He did have help from John Daron and Shavo as well. I do remember that day, 2006's Ozzfest. I was there at West Palm Beach when they said 'Bye'. Yeah, tears rolled down my eyes and I did cry like a child but I know they need some time off. I saw it coming. Even tho E.T.D. still sounds like System in a whole new way. My point is, System of a Down will live in all of their fans. If you don't like who they are when they're not togetter. You are not a true System fan. Okay, Slig, that last statement was uncalled for. There are a lot of peole out there, not just gothgurl, who don't like Serj's album and prefer their old music than the solo stuff. Nobody has the right to tell them that they aren't true fans because of it. No, Serj didn't do ETD on his own, he had some help, but it's still his own personal style in his music and lyrics. It does sound similar to SOAD, but it's not the same. I can see how some people wouldn't like it, but that doesn't mean that they're not true system fans.

Wow, you guys quickly attack me when I just said a few words. Listen, let's get something straight, on my part anyway. I just guess that if you are a 'true fan' of a band. I mean a true TRUE fan. That you would like everything about the band (Music, messages, members, Ext.). Example, Slipknot, They made good music then when the last Album came out, people dropped out. There were no longer 'maggets'.
In other words, if I offended you in anyway, I'm sorry. I truely mean that. If you feel that way about Serj, I respect that.

Well, I don't see how you could think that though. Because Serj's music is no part of SOAD. So, yeah, apology accepted. Sorry I jumped on you though, even if I did mean it.......... sweatdrop

I think a lot of us here have different definitions of what a "true fan" is, and those definitions usually describe each of us. "Maggots" just have different tastes that they feel are more important to them.

hmmm.
i dont understand why anyone could be angry at him for making awesome music that he wants to make.
whether we are "true fans", regular fans or no fans at all, we have no right to expect anything from him or any of the rest of the band.
they're doing what they feel they need to, and frankly we just need to let them get on with their lives and enjoy the music that they bring to us.
serj's solo album was one of the few highlights of my year, to be perfectly honest. its obvious that he put so much effort and time and money into making it, so we should just enjoy it. ^_^

your opinion isnt wrong, its just unpopular.. =p i mean there not broken up for good after SOB gets done goes on tour for a while they've already discussed a new album in years to come (dont quote me) but the fact is even thought there temporaraly (sp) broken up.... eh kinda.... anywayz serj sounds amazing in ETD and im sure as hell that john and daron are going to be spectacular in SOB seriously. you cant doubt these guys there friggan amazing. (daron looks like hes gained a few lbs www.scarsonbroadway.com)

Don't get all huffy with me. I was just saying that because this thread was dying and everyone has the same opinion but me and I'm just tired of hearing the same thing for multiple pages. And, I'm sure not many people besides the ones who have been here already care much. So, I can take the opinions, I just get tired of repitition.

When you post a thread, you should expect to see responses, whether it is repetition or not. If you didn't want to see opinions, whether they agreed with you or not, you probably shouldn't have asked.
I, for one, love Serj's new album. I went out and bought it the moment we had the extra money for me to do so. I knew about their hiatus before it went into effect, and saw them at Ozzfest in California that year. I was happy to have gotten the chance to see them before they went on Hiatus, and I have nothing against any of them for doing this. As has been stated, they are each an individual person, and have every right to want to do something on their own for a while. If it was permanent, they would have said so, and would not be calling it a hiatus. I'll be happy to see them together again eventually but, for now, I'm perfectly happy with Elect the Dead, and whatever else we may see in the future.
