I've watched the entire series all the way through at least 7 times, possibly more - I've been to the xena convention of 2007, seen Lucy in concert, purchased gods know how much worth of signed photos, bobble heads, pictures, props from the show, scripts - you name it, and I have it. So, I beg to differ, I am quite definitely a bigger fan than you. I'm really not going to say anything else on that subject, because quite frankly I know it's true smile And Ones For Those You Can't Let Go

Sexuality doesn't strongly enter the surface content until towards the end of season one, but dominates the themes and imagery right from the start. but ish MOSTLY butt kickin an thass whut got into teh genre thingy 3nodding action advernture fantasy documentary i think! 3nodding Oh yeah, yeah. It's just the difference between form and content. The difference between what genre a show's in and what the show's about. To take an example from elsewhwere in geekdom...Star Trek and Farscape are both shows in the same genre - they're both ship-based SF ensemble series - but they're about very different things. That's how it goes with X:WP - it takes the form of a butt kickin' show, but what it's about is very rarely butt kickin'. Sometimes it is, but more often than not the butt kickin' is just the container and the contents are about sexuality, the will to power, cultural transition, mythopoeia and half a dozen other things that're all mixed up with each other.

I love, love, love Xena and back in the day (when it was on the air) I would have argued about me being the biggest Xena fan, but now I am more of a Kevin fan than anything else. mrgreen

There Are Two Kinds Of Tears; Ones For Those Who Leave You...Yes, he does try and argue...but I already know I'm the biggest fan. Well, perhaps you can be the biggest xena character fan...but as a whole, like the whole show type thing, I'm a bigger fan. smile And Ones For Those You Can't Let Go
