I agree with you alot. Katara has basically stayed the same this entire show. I kind of hope she changes a little for the better, too.
Same here. Maybe Zuko can help her change a bit.

Yeah, I think the whole thing with Zuko is going to be something that greatly affects her. because right now, she's stubborn in the belief that he can't change and that he hasn't changed, but sooner or later(hopefully sooner) she's going to realize that she was wrong, and it takes a lot of a person to own up and admit something like that. Thus, we have some Katara development.

I think part of it may be that she's shut down, because one of her big problems is trusting people. it's come up a few times, first with Jet and their first encounter, then with Jet and their second encounter...In which she only realized he was legit when it was too late(right? it's been a while since I've seen that one) and I'm thinking that the incident with Jet at Lake Laogai kind of affected her later on when she and Zuko met in the caves. Maybe then she was trying harder to see his side after he came and apologized to her, maybe Jet affected her in the way that she wanted to believe Zuko, before it was too late, you know? She wanted to give him the chance without him having to die to prove it like Jet did...But in the end, we all know where that went. And then there is Hamma who taught her and forced her to use something that she never wanted.

So I think once Zuko's proven himself, and she feels she can put her complete trust in him as a friend, then we'll see a little bit more Katara progress. Because that is her biggest problem, trusting people and being betrayed.
She may be difficult to deal with , but then, that is still part of her personality. She has a strong character, and that does sometimes come out in more negative ways at times. It does kind of make her more human at the same time, though. which is probably why I love her.

But yeah, Zuko is probably going to change her! admitting that she was wrong and just finally seeing Zuko as he is, progressed as much as he is, will soften her up a bit. She'll still have a strong character and personality, but it will be a humbling experience.
Wow. Now that I think about it, Katara has had the worst past when it comes to trust and betrayal. Dx Poor girl...

But, yeah, you're right. Katara has to open up and forgive Zuko at some point, and see that he's a good person. I imagine her complete trusting of him will be triggered by an emotional and/or traumatic experience, since ther isn't really time for the whole 'slowly-but-surely' thing. But, hey, a dramatic event will make things more intersting, and probably give them a stronger bond. =D

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking that Greenifyme is right about Zuko taking out Katara's mother's killer. That's going to likely be the dramatic event that Zutara needs to develop. Very traumatic and emotional. ^^
If Zuko risks his life for her, and fights for her and her mother, and he ends up avenging her...That will be huge and form a deeper bond between them that no one will be able to deny, not even the anti-Zutarians. Especially since he knows what it's like to lose a mother. It'd probably lead on to a conversation about his mother too, in which she can understand him better, see what happened to him.
I have to wonder how they'd try to tell us that THAT kind of a bond would mean nothing.

Seeing Zuko take out the murderer of Katara's mother would be epic. I'm praying that happens.

And, yeah, if people try and deny a bond like that, than they really are just trying to ignore the possibility of Zutara. And if I'm not mistaken, that would them a bit delusional, wouldn't it? =D

That would be amazing I wonder who it was anyways. We've seen who killed Jet's family, but we haven't even gotten a flashback off of Katara yet.

That's so true! Alot of people just try to ignore it so their ship won't be "in danger", even if hints are obvious.

So, in a way, we know that Zutara is could be a key factor, and it was proven by the Katanngers no less! Who loves it when a plan unknowingly comes together? ninja

I've also read Greenifyme's writing on the Avatar predictions and everything else. Needless to say, but I was impressed. Also how Mai would free Zuko, or tell the Gaang where he is being held. [And tthe Zutara kiss. X3]

The one who killed Jet's family was Colonel Monkei [spelling?] and his other four [or so] warriors. The Fire Nation soliders who're capable of being good singers, as Uncle Iroh stated. xd

Oh yes! There must always be a little Zutara kiss somewhere in there. <3 Some people's predictions are so accurate sometimes that it's scary. o.o

Gah, poor Jet. He didn't deserve that. I wonder if Colonel Monkei will appear in future episodes. We know he burned down Jet's home, and at first I thought Jet would go after him for revenge, but obviously he can't. XP I want to hear those guys sing sometime.

Be even more funny if they sing something about the four elements, more so fire and water then earth and air. xd The only thing is, it would be sort of miffy if it's a Fire Nation Person we know. Someone new, who scares even Zuko, though Combustion Man came pretty close.

I used to like Zutara because I thought it was funny. Then I became obssesed with it and I cursed the two seasons of avatar I spent in the dark with kataang center stage

Pretty much the same with me. xD

Alternate endings FTW! =D We can make our own canon!

I didn't even realize there was a Zutara either till like the middle of season three. After I was injured I spent a lot more time on the internet(yay computer geek) and I started going to avatar sites and I saw Zuko and Katara in pictures together and I was like "What?"At the moment I was to busy thinking about Vuko(me and Zuko, my god he got hot!!!!) to even think about any other pairing besides Kataang. I was 12 when the show started so I had that mind set where the main characters allways end up with one another. But as my mind matured so did my view of avatar and eventually Zutara and I finally realized its appeal with the help of fan art, vids, and the zefid lessons. No I can never go back. I find myself routting for the underdog ship in every single show I watch now.

After the finale, my love for this ship and its fandom has increased a ton. Even if its not canon, it had so many wonderful, meaningful moments that I just can't help but love it to bits. Seriously, if you want epic romance, look at this ship. =D
