... Winter Research

Lily: black
Kyo: Blue

The moon reflated sun’s light with almost it’s full capasity. It made Noorarie happy. Night would be greatly darker without the moon and hunting would be a lot harder task to do. The weather was almost perfect for hunt. If something, Noor would have wished for a little breeze of wind to carry her scent away.

She was kneeled down behind a snowdrift, all her muscles ready for action. Her eyes were staring at a young caribou on the side of the caribou herd. Slowly, making no sound, Noor pulled an arrow from quiver and placed it beside the bow she was holding. She tensed the string of the bow while aiming and waited patiently. Just when she was going to shoot, the herd noticed something and ran away.

The arctic tundra... why oh why... would an elf be all the way up here. Not even Kyocho could answer his own question. Something just... drew him to venture up this far and leave his kids at home. Every inch of the way he hopped Oak and Opuntia would get along well.

"I guess I could do some research up here while I'm here, but there aren't any plants neat plants to study up here, just grass... and weeds," The elf sighed. "I still have no idea why I came." The elf muttered to himself. Not realizing the herd of caribou that grazed before him. The thundering sounds of there hoofs echoed as they ran off.

"Oh... oops." The elf whispered quietly this time, bringing in his heavy down jacked in closer and snuggled into his warm hood.

Noor watched after the herd for a long moment. Then, she sighed. No meal from that herd. She stood up and walked away from her hiding place. After putting the arrow from her hand into her quiver, she started her way in hopes of new prey appearing in her sight soon.

She had walked for awhile before she heard sound. Someone was walking near by. Feeling unsafe, she pulled quickly an arrow from her quiver again. Keeping her bow pointing down, she moved behind the tree, surveying the stranger. He (Noor guessed he was an elf) looked relatively harmless but she decided to be careful anyway. Never trust strangers, so they say.

The elves ears twitched the sound of an arrow being pulled back on a bow shot through his ears. Who the hell could be all the way up here...

Kyo didn't feel any threat to him so he continued on his way. Kneeling down every so often to survey and plants he would see on his journey. A few bits of grass and weeds. Nothing extravagant to take note of. He took a handful of some kind of grass and ripped it from the soil carefully so that the roots came with it. There wasn't much to it, but it was enough to satisfy.

"Wow... this place is... fun." The elf nodded chuckling to himself.

What this stranger elf did, made Noor confused. He was studying one of those few plants and was holding it. The first thing that came in her mind was that he was pondering if the plant was edible or not. Silently, Noor thought it as odd and funny.

She was disturbed by a suddenly strong wind which seemed to appear from nowhere. Almost instantly, she felt something wet and flat slapping in her cheek from where it flyed away as soon as it had appeared. When she turned to see, she saw a leaf... no, the leaves whirling wildly in the wind and moving rapidly towards the elf. Without thinking, she yelped: "Hey!!!"

The elf quickly caught himself. The sound of her voice hit his eardrums before they ran through his mind. Quickly looking up at the origin. His eyes squinted as a shady figure was seen, but quickly he turned to look down. Something was coming.
"Crap.."

Kyo quickly darted for the nearest shrub or tree and hid behind it's form with out question.
"I come all the way up here to study the damn plants and a wind storm is about to blow through." He quickly looked towards his hands to see if the plant survived the trip, but to his sight it fell to the ground and was about to suffer the wrath of the ripping winds.
"Shoot..."

The elf pushed the plant out of his mind and his eyes shot to the corner of his eyes and stared at the origin of that voice.
"Who are you and why are you all the way up here?"

For a second Noor just stood there and blinked. She did not understand why he was angry but it was most likely because she didn't really spend a lot of time with other people. The forest was her home and family and she liked it that way. "I..." That was only thing she managed to say until she was disturbed by something.
"HELP!!!!" the voice inside her yelled. It sounded like a voice of little girl but when Noor tried to locate it, she found no girl.
"Did you hear that?" she asked from the elf before glancing around again. No girl was around other than she. The chilling feeling of worry crawled inside her and made her look like a mother whose baby is in danger.

Kyo silenced his mind and searched for a sound... but nothing. He couldn't hear anything other than the whistling of the wind. Maybe this unknown woman was going crazy... or losing her mind.

"I didn't hear anything!" The elf shouted.

But a tinge of worry dabbled with his soul.
"But... Something doesn't feel right. I think there is something else out here.."

"Oh!" Noor shouted back.

For a moment, Noor couldn't locate anything that could cause the 'help scream'. There was just she, the elf, the wind and couple trees here and there. None of these seemed to make the noise she had heard. Maybe it was nothing...

Then she saw something flying fastly past her. Quickly, she turned around to see it. It was hard to figure out what it was, because of snowy wind but there was something whirling in air, a little over the snowy ground. Noor thought she saw two small objects but she wasn't sure.

Then, she heard children's cry..

The voice caught Kyo by surprise. He heard it too... the sound of children.
"Now I heard that!"

The elf pierced his eyes to try to figure out where the sound was coming from, but there wasn't anyone else out here but these two.... the strange thing was that the sound came when the gust drove by. The elf watched the wind carry a few leaves and some debris between the two.

"You don't think that the sound came from what that wind gust was carrying do you?"

"I don't know. I guess."

Noor's eyes narrowed as she watched leaves fly further from them. She felt awfully worried and nervous. She just couldn't stand still and watching without doing nothing.

"We have to save them," Noor muttered before bursting after those leaves.

Save what? The leaves... but there just leaves...
Kyo quickly followed after her. He couldn't run as fast as Noor, but he managed. With all the winter clothing piled on top of him. He didn't care to much for the cold, so a little agility sacrifice wouldn't do any harm.

"Alright" Kyo nodded and kept his own comments to himself.

Noor was quicker than Kyo but she still had hard time catching leaves. Everytime she was enough near to catch one, it suddenly flew away from her reach. This happened many times. Once she even stumbled but quickly managed to continue race between leaves and them.

Kyocho watched the woman with a bewildered look on his face. Why the heck was she trying to capture these leaves? She looked to him as if she was playing some kind of children's game.

The elf shrugged his shoulders.
"As they say... when in Rome.." Kyo nodded and chuckled at himself and his lameness.

The elf ran towards the breeze and the flying leaves. Watching with his quick Elvin eyes. Kyocho quickly reached for the sky and lunged at the flying leaves. The elf grasped onto the stem of one and yanked it down and held firmly onto it.
"Hey look at that... I caught one"

Noor didn't have time to think how insane this all seemed. She simply followed her instincts that told her to catch the leaf. Maybe it was easier for her to believe in magic because she lived in wilderness and so, didn't know much of science. Or maybe it was because she had experienced magic in her life before. Nevermind of reasons, she followed her instints.

So, the elf managed to catch other of leaves. Good. Now, if only she would be able to catch that another one.

It was harder task than she expected. The wind carried the leaf fastly and always when she almost catched it, the wind changed direction. But suddenly, Noor got her change. She turned quickly and jumped after the leaf and surprise to her, actually catched it. When she hit the ground, she rolled few times, finally stopping rolling.

Just now, all emotions that have born during this wild race, swooshed on her. She felt exhausted, proud and sort of happy for catching the leaf. Also, now she the cry strongest than ever before. It was a panicking cry, like a child who just have experienced something scary and was needing for comfort.

Kyo examined his leaf. Still he could not believe what the leaf was. How could the leaf be some kind of... living thing. I mean in his travels he grew a child from a potted plant... and a stick. So you would think that he would be used to it by now, but no. A leaf?

"So I think I have seen everything now" The elf nodded, "now what?" Kyocho held the leaf between his fingers and watched as it twitched and moved side to side.

The cry Noor did hear, turned into a sob. It made her happy because she somehow knew that she she had done the right thing. She squeezed the leaf gently before getting up on her feet. The wind still roamed wildly but the weather was calming down.

Noor's eyes located the elf and she smiled. It looked like another leaf was saved too. She walked towards him. "Thank you," she said when she close enough for him to hear her.

"Umm... not a problem,"
The elf watched and studied the woman’s face,
"But I think I am going to keep this one."

Kyocho brought the leaf closer to his chest as he quickly opened up his black downed color boat and stuck the leaf inside one of the hidden pockets. Being careful not to smash any of the corners.

Something did feel different about the leaf... maybe it would be something worth.... studying in his lab back home.

"Something about it seems... different.." The elf looked back up to Noor, “I haven’t properly introduced my self. My name is Kyocho, Kyo for short. I work in a lab studying plants and I’m up here just to do some research.”

"It is different." Noor was sure about it. No ordinary leaf would cause such an emotional wawe as this one did.

"I'm Noor," she then introduced herself. She had her reasoms why she didn't tell her real name. Even though she felt she could trust Kyo.

"Can I keep this one?" she asked after looking at the leaf between her own fingers. It was slightly smaller than Kyo's leaf and twitching a bit oddly. Noor narrowed her eyes, confused.

"I guess. I only need the one." The elf nodded and shivered from the cold. Kyocho hated the cold with the deepest most anger.

"It's almost getting dark and the temperature is going to drop soon." The elf looked up into the sky. "I better get going before it gets any worse." Kyocho nodded. Reaching into his back pocket he pulled out a card.

"Here is a card with my info on it. IF anything strange or odd happens to your leaf give me a call."

Truely. It was almost pitch black here. And Noor hadn't catch her meal for next few days. If she had luck, she would find something edible. Otherwise, she would have to wait for morning.

She accepted the card and glanced at it. While she wasn't familiar with modern things, she knew what all these letters and numbers meant.

"Okay. I'll stop by if anything strange happens."

She turned around and before she started her walk, she added:

"Safe journey."

"You too and thanks!" The elf smiled and nodded as he turned away and wandered off into the snowy distance. He used his past foot steps to find his way back home.

... Reflections

My gathering information for my research is finally done. No more Arctic for me. Now I just need to figure out why I was sent up there in the first place. There isn't anything spectacular about the arctic anyways... other than that leaf I received today. Now what I don't get is how a leaf like this could survive in such harsh conditions? I guess in time it will revealed it's self and show me.

Until that time...

It was difficult. I met this other woman up there. She was hunting caribou and I accidentally scared off her hunt. My bad, but oh well. Back to the main thing. She received a leaf of her own at the same time I did. It was difficult to pull the two away... like they had been connected or something...

... Research

What are you?....

I still couldn't figure out what the heck this leaf is about. It's been a few days since I have arrived back to my lab from the frozen arctic. I haven't heard anything from Noor. I'm sure it's safe to assume nothing has happened to her leaf as well.

The elf rested the leaf down on his desk. Watching as it twitched and wiggled with an exuberant life. A pot filled with dirt rested on the corner of his desk close to the leaf, just in case the leaf would react to it.

What ever it was going to be the elf was ready for it and so would his other kids. Opuntia.... Oak.... and the vampire Coudray.

Shouko looked at the building in front of her and then at the flower pot in her hands. Well, this was odd. Not as odd as the cave, but still odd.

It had been cold lately - not typical leaf weather - and after so many just a month or so ago it seemed odd that more had arrived now. But still, it made her happy to know there would be new life in the world.

"What are you going to hold?" she asked the flower pot, and set it on the front steps before leaving.

The Letter
Dear Kyo

A little birdie told me you found one of our leaves recently. We're an organization called The Eden Project, and your leaf is a very special one. If you take good care of it, it will develop into a child. I've attached a flowerpot and special soil that will help it along its way. If you have any questions, give us a call or stop by our headquarters in Barton.

Good luck!

... Pot

A package?

Kyo pondered to himself for a while.

"Who would leave me a package...?" The elf shrugged his shoulders and reached for the pot sitting at the front desk. "Oh well. Thanks for holding it!" The elf nodded as he went about his own way and returned to his office.

Setting the pot down on his desk, where the last empty pot had sat. Kyo reached for the leaf that rested on his desk. It twitched less now than it had earlier that day... lucky for him.

"So this will help you along your way..." Kyo reached down for the note, "well that’s what the note says anyways!"

"Eh..."
He held the leaf between his fingers and looked down towards the pot.
"Might as well"
The elf then stuck the leaf into the soil and left it there.

"I wonder who The Eden Project is anyways..." The elf sat back down on his comfy chair and threw his head back against the rest.

... In the HQ

Quote:
In all his travels of Gaia. Never has he crossed paths with a shop named "The Eden Project". Well at least that’s what the note told him and he guessed it was about due time to make a visit to this so called HQ. Since he did happen upon a leaf that is supposed to turn into a child. This very leaf that he was holding in his arms... that leaf he potted a while back. At least it wasn't moving and twitching... much like some possessed foliage.

Kyo's feet clapped against the cold sidewalk in the early morning. He was an early riser and believed the day shouldn't go to waste on some thing so trivial as sleep. The elf would watch his steps for the most part, but as soon as a soon part of the building complex would pop up, he would glance up and look for a name... until he finally stumbled upon a shop with the name “The Eden Project”.

“That’s strange, I’ve never noticed this shop before,” he shrugged his shoulders and proceeded up the stairway and rested his hand upon the door knob and gave it a jiggle until the door opened. Kyo slowly stuck his head inside first and took in his surrounding then look down at the pot in his arms, “Eh..” the elf muttered as he finally went inside and closed the door behind him and began his search for the one named… Shouko.

Quote:
The elf gently relaxed the pot down on the counter top and glared into the woman’s eyes.
"I'm looking for a Shouko."
The elf reassured himself as he pulled out the note left for him and glanced over the name.

"Yeah... Shouko. It says so on this card!" He flipped the card over and showed her what he was looking at.

Quote:
"Yes... I would like to know more about this... Project." The man nodded setting down the pot.

"So this thing... is supposed to grow into a child?" Kyo didn't mean to come off cross, the thing is that he didn't really sign up for any new children and he already had his hands full with three others back at home. At least two of the three had been mild mannered.

Quote:
The Elves naturally tan skin tone went pale as soon as he heard the definite news about what the leaf would turn into.
"A... Another child?"
Kyo scratched at his head,
"like I need another one, but I guess the others at home will help me out. Anyways thanks for your help. I can take it from here."

The elf smiled and nodded as he lifted the pot back up and headed out of the shop.

... Visitation Rights

Kyo: Black
LLK: Blue

The elf labored in his lab. The trip to the projects HQ wasn't very helpful to say of the least. I guess in this mystery of life he would be doing the hard core investigation himself. The pot with the potted leaf rested on the corner of his desk. Kyocho kept a watchful eye close to it. Studying it. Watching its every move, stem, and attribute.

"What could you be," The elf reached over and lifted the note closely to his face. "another child, huh?" Setting down the note, the Elves mind began to wander back to the day he received that leaf.

"I wonder when Noor with be arriving..." He turned his back towards the heavy metal door that lead into his office that he only used when he was to lazy to go to work that day. Hidden amongst the streets of Durem.

Noor had got lost. No wonder, the forest was much much more familiar place for her than this modern jungle. And map reading was not her strenghts either.

She held tightly the flowerpot that one day had appeared in front of her cave. Somehow, she felt love towards this little pot, like it would be her child. If the note was telling the truth, maybe she even would get a child soon. It was a fascinating thought. A bit unbeliable but still fascinating.

Oh yes, where was she?

"Is everything right?" a voice of a man behind her asked. Noor startled and instantly turned around. The voice belonged to a police man, the one who would retire soon. He had a friendly smile but Noor was alarmed. You never knew if people were nice or planning something against you.

"Yes, thank you," the hunter woman said shyly.

"I'm just a little lost."

"Where are going?"

As an answer to that, Noor showed the card with Kyo's information in it. Police man examined it, meanwhile Noor examined him. The expression on man's face brightened and he smiled.

"Do you need an escort there?" he asked.

The hunter woman nodded.

"Well then. Follow me."

Twenty minutes passed and Noor was in front of the heavy, metallic floor. She was alone with the flowerpot, the police man had left on his duties some time ago. So, this was Kyo's place. They certainly lived in different kind of home. Technology meets nature. What a combination.

Noor rose her hand reached the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Kyo heard a strange knock on his front door. Could it be her? Hopefully Noor had arrived so that he could give her the download on his visit to the "The Projects Home".

The elf got up and ran off from his lab and quickly shut the door behind him.
"I'm coming!" He yelled as he approached the door and gave it a jiggle as he turned the metal knob and opened the door to welcome in his guest.
"Hey, come on in! I guess you got the note too."

"Hi," Noor just said. She slingered inside, shoulders wet from just raining snow. She placed the flowerpot next to the wall while she took off her leather/fur jacket and boots.

"So, figured anything about it yet?"

The house was more modern than she had used to. But well, she lived in a cave. To her modern machines like laundry machine, TV or even phone were un-needed. She was the girl for simple life and all those modern things confused her.

"Do I put this here?" she asked and glanced at Kyo, holding the flower pot near his own one. For some reason, it seemed like good idea to put them next to each other.

The elf quickly turned around and watched as she set her own pot down next to his.
"Yeah that sounds like a good idea."

It was a short meeting at the Projects HQ, but the information was still fresh in in his mind.
"They were... some what helpful." The elf scratched at his head. At least it was a quiet night tonight and all the other kids where behaving themselves in the other room.

"Well what Shouko told me was that the leaves would eventually bear a child... or more like grow into a child."

"Oh?" Noor said, a bit confused expression on her face. Suddenly, it all seemed so fabulous! "They will grow into a child?!"

The hunter woman looked at leaves in their flower pots. So, you really have a soul.... She smiled a dreamy smile.

"I wonder will it be like an ent with root-like hands and feet or like a human child with soft skin...."

Little by little, the leaf in Noor's flower pot twiggled in the soil, towards the other leaf....

"I have no idea what will become of them..."
Another child? Great... it was the last thing that Kyo needed. He already had his hands full with Oak, Opuntia, and Coudray. At least he had the others to help him take care of all the kids. Also if he needed the help Vin is always able to swing by with Ono to help out as well.

The elf sighed and looked at the pot.
"I guess the two like each other, I'm afraid they might be linked together."

Surprised, Noor glanced at Kyo.

"Afraid? Why you are afraid they could be linked?" she asked, looking very confused.

Noor just couln't understand.

The elf tilted his head back and forth and scattered through his brain for a liable reason.

"If they happen to be connected. In the early stages of there lives the seperation of the two could be harsh and even devastating on them."
The elf looked at the woman and studied her response. He didn't know how else to explain their situation.

"Oh..."

A sign of understanding. Noor glanced at leafs but turned her gaze quickly towards Kyo.

"So... " she said, her brows lowered. "... if they are connected, they need to stay together? Which one us should take care of them? ..... Or should we do that together?"

"I have a guest room that your more than welcome to use for the mean time, until the two are able to be seperated."

The elf nodded. Glancing towards the hall. Where a closed wooden door encased an empty room occupied with a bed and the basic essentials. He couldn't even remember the last time it had been used.

"Just hope you don't mind the noise of two other kids and a baby."

"Sounds don't bother me," she said. To be honest, she hadn't used to sounds of children. But wild nature had it's own sounds and those sounds were pretty loud at times. Probably children wouldn't bother her too much.

"May I see the room?"

"Sure It's just down the hall. Just watch where you step..." The elf nodded, raising his hand and pointed down the hallway. "Its just the second door on the right."

Luckily right now the kids were being quiet. Off some where in one of there own rooms.

"The kids don't really need it. They seem to get along."

Noorarie nodded with a smile and walked towards the hallway. She wanted to see the room, see what kind of room it was. Her steps were careful as she walked, not wanting to scare kids. She also wanted to make sure she would find the right room and not miss it.

It wasn't a hard task. She found the room easily. Good, it was comfortable, just like she hoped. A bit dust on floor or on furnitures didn't mind her. After all, she always have lived in caves or under trees. Those places weren't very clean.

She sat on bed and sighed. Many thoughts fullfilled her mind. Mostly, she thought about the leaf and pondered how it could turn into a child. How it would happen?

Meanwhile, the leaf in flowerpot Noor has brought, had reached pot's edge.

While their parents have been somewhat less than attentive, a strange change has overtaken both leaves -a fine layer of white fur has sprouted on both of them.

The elf wandered down the hall of his home.
What a predicament the two were in. He didn't mind a guest in the home... it would probably help out since he had three other children in the home... sometimes four.

"Will this work out for you?" The elf questioned Noor. The elf then turned around and wandered back down the hall and towards the room the two had first entered. His eyes went straight towards the pots.

"NOOR!! Come quick!" Kyo shouted.

"Yes, it's fine," Noor answered, sitting on side of the bed and smiled meekly. After he went back to his work room, she sighed again. Calm down, girl. Calm down. He wasn't going to hurt she. Right? Right. Noor certainly hoped so.

Her thoughts and seemingly silly fears were interupted by Kyo's loud scream. Startled, her heart beating like crazy, she breathed hard and fast. Calm down, calm down. Get yourself together.

Fastly walking she made her way to the room where Kyo was.

"What's the matter?"

She hadn't noticed the change that was happening to their leaves yet.

At last, some attention! They were getting somewhere! Being given the time of day only seemed to make the leaves transmogrify faster. The fur grew thicker and the leaves themselves became larger. A thrashing overtakes them from within.

The pots rattle.

The elf's eyes drew in closer to the pots. Fur? Rattling? In all his times in his career he has never seen a pot do either of these.

"That!" The elf muttered in surprise as he chocked on his breath. "Thats not normal!"

... Zoo

ORP

LLK
White, fluffy tail flapped from left to right and backwards excitedly as a little white wolf girl ran from cage to cage and sniffed each of them. To her, scents were more interesting than animals, who did nothing but sleep.

They were walking between cages that held all kind of animals inside bars. Right now, they were heading towards arctic section of zoo. Noor believed them to be some sort of magical children of nature (them turning from leaves to furry kids was enough proof for her of that). Noor felt that being around things of nature, even though those animals were inprisoned, would make them feel comfortable.

Noor smiled. So far, so good.

Kyocho

Kyocho followed behind Noor. Cradling Riddik in his arms as they wandered about the zoo. It was unbelievable how much Riddik had slept ever since he had appeared. Luckily he had the help of his other kids to keep an eye on him and more than happily they attended Kyo and Riddik to the zoo it was Oak followed by Opuntia then last but not least Coudray marching in a line. It was sometimes difficult to keep an eye on all four of them, but he managed.

"You sure do sleep a lot Riddik" The elf grumbled and in turn was answered with a slight growling that burped out of the boys mouth.

"Maybe because he's a bear." Oak shouted as he tugged on the edge of his guardians shirt.

"Most likely," Kyo responded. Turning his head around to take a visual count to make sure the others were still following. Oak had a smile on his face as usual. Kyo knew the boy loved to see animals. Opunita looked content as always and seemed to be in a different place... then it was Coudray. He never looked happy a day in his life.

Kittygriffin
Kiri looked on as her daughter galloped around looking at everything. Alice had an incredible level of curiousity and was almost as interested in the information and signs as she was with the animals. Kiri herself was taking it easy and fliting between telling her daughter about the animals and taking photos of said animals. After she had made sure Alice understood the basic rules she could relax a bit, Alice was surprisingly obeident and tended not to roam too far.

Alice was thrilled, this had to be the best place her mum had ever taken her, there was so much to do. It was a pity that mum had made it clear that not only was she not to try and get food from the other people around but she was also to stay on this side of the fences and not try and feed or play with the animals.
She didn't understand that, she loved food and Kestral was always happy when she was fed, so why was it wrong to feed the animals, surely they got hungry too? Maybe they had a special diet, Simon had told her that not all animals could eat the same thing when she tried to eat grass after seeing a picture of a rabbit eating grass.
Still there was so much to see that she could put aside thoughts of food for the time being. She had never seen so many people and animals before, both were equally interesting to her.

Nikiana
What's that? What's that? Huh, mommy?? What is that??" Nikiana was tiring of the neverending line of questions coming from Evelyn. Since the leaf had sprouted into this child, the girl had seemed to go nonstop questioning everything. Niki had been proud at first. After all, an inquistive nature was a great one for a scientist, but the questioning got old. Real quick.

The girl had somehow found out about the zoo and had pestered Niki until she finally gave in to taking the girl. Evelyn had been amazed to see the different animals roaming the zoo in their different cages. They'd been through the safari area and Niki had avoided the reptile house for now. Snakes weren't exactly her favorite thing.

As they passed a sign about the penguin exibit, Evelyn asked "What's a penguin?"

"Let's go find out." Niki replied with a sigh.

LLK
After some while traveling from side of cage to another, need for comfort called Cream back to her family and so she springed towards them. On her way, though, she happened to bump into another girl. A surprised gasp was let out from wolf girl's mouth as she fell on her butt. Green eyes stared at Alice, victim of the bump, with reserved but also curious look.

A nice scent from flower Eden not so far away reached on Cream's nose and the wolf girl made a mental note to check it after she had tried to awake Riddik. Bro should come and examine the place with her! But at first, she wanted to see if the girl in front of her was ally or foe.

Meanwhile, Noor had found a seat and took a little break from a tour. Not that her feet were tired, not at all, it more like a mental weariness.

Kyocho
Riddik began to stir in Kyocho's arms. The boy slowly lifted his head up from his resting place and opened his eyes and look straight at this guardian.

"Well good morning Riddik" The elf nodded, "better late than never" Kyo smiled and lifted the boy up and down towards the ground. "My arms are getting tired so you get to walk now.

Riddik looked back up towards his guardian and gave him a dirty look. He was comfortable after all... with no worries and strictly care free in his arms. The little polar bear shrugged his shoulders and looked left and right until he spotted Cream and rushed his way towards her.

"There he goes.." Oak whispered to himself.

Kittygriffin
Alice looked with worry at the girl who had just bumped into her. The now familiar tingle was coming from her which meant she was a friend, like Hana and Alexis and Alice knew that falling down could hurt.

Normally when meeting a new friend Alice would first give them a hug but this was a special case since her new friend was presently sitting on the ground, so instead she offered a hand feeling that it was more important that her new friend get up first.

After the first worried look Alice had regained her usual look of cheerful friendliness and was wagging her tail hopefully, she could sense two other tingles near by, one approaching rapidly, and while her mum had told her not to play with strangers these weren't strangers, they were friends she just hadn't met yet.

Kiri looked on cautiously. It was good that Alice was acting so politely but she knew that her daughter was very touchy feely and it wouldn't take much to set her off. Still there was no harm in Alice meeting other children her age and the new girl did look nice. Maybe it would get her talking a bit.

Nikiana
Evelyn had been happily prancing towards the penguin exhibit when she suddenly came to a dead stop. Niki peered curiously down at the girl, who was looking left and right as if looking for something. But, before the woman could ask what was up, her daughter darted off. "Evelyn!" Niki broke out into a run after the girl.

The young girl turned a corner and almost ran into two girls who were standing, or well, one was standing and helping the other up. She was peering at the two girls when Niki caught up to her. Evelyn turned towards her mother. "What's those?" She asked, pointing to Alice and Cream.

"It's not nice to point, Evelyn..." The woman told the girl, finding a bench nearby to sit and catch her breath.

"Why, Mommy?"

"It's just not," was the answer, which made the poinsettia girl frown. That wasn't an answer! But these girls were curious and she put aside the pointing issue to inspect the two more closely.

LLK
The other girl was offering a hand to her. She wanted to help. But instead of taking her hand, Cream leaned forward to sniff it. Then, she smiled. Alice was considered as a friend now.

It didn't take even a minute when Cream's furry, pointy ears perked up and a little towards Riddik's location. As she turned to look there, she spotted him.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~" she screamed and dashed towards Riddik, arms wide open to grap his hand and drag him around to show him all the animals and then beg mama and papa to buy ice cream. Cream really loved ice cream.

On her seat, Noor had rose her gaze to the wolf girl. She smiled a small smile. Children were silly. And adorable in that way.

Kyocho
Kyo smiled as he watched Cream run for her brother. At least they where linked and weren't alone in this world. That at least made the elf smile. Looking back towards his other children following him... unlike the two the rest of them where all alone, basically only children and he made the best of the situation and tried to get them all to feel like family. Oak was the best at this, he seemed to make a real connection with them all and make a symbol as being a very caring one. It really helped out a lot around the house.

Riddik watched as his sister came running for him and grabbed his hand. An "umph.." sound rang as he was pulled almost against his free will. The polar bear boy couldn't really make sense as to why these animals were caged up, but oh well. They were different then the two... so maybe that was why.

Kyo wandered up next to Noor and took a seat. The elf looked up into the sky then back down and began to scan the area left and right. There were two others in view. One named "Evelyn" obviously since that was the name he had heard being called out from a woman chasing her. The little girl almost looked like a plant too, kind of like Oak. The other girls name was still unknown, but he didn't make it an effort to find out.

Kittygriffin
Alice was a bit confused with her new friends reaction. She was used to many situations but being ignored wasn't one of them. Should she go over to where her new friend and the other child was, or should she leave them alone? While she thought about what to do she looked around trying to identify the last tingle she felt, she finally identified a girl who smelled of flowers as the tingle.

With the last one identified Alice thought for a bit on what to do now before deciding to fetch this new one and then they could go and see what the other two were up to, then all four friends would be able to enjoy the zoo together. This decided she ran over to Evelyn and gave her a hug before grinning at her and wagging her tail.

Kiri watching from the sidelines nearly groaned, she had hoped that she had trained Alice out of hugging strange people, but apparently she hadn't. She hoped that the new girl wouldn't take it amiss, especially as Alice tended not to talk and so didn't normally explain her actions. She looked around to identify the parent or parents of this newest child, just incase she needed to make appologies.

Nikiana

Evelyn had turned her attention from her mother's crazy rules to Riddik and Cream as the girl ran to the little boy and hugged him. That was a bit odd. Suddenly, before she could think much more, she was suddenly a victim of a hug. The girl blinked, more startled than anything. She glanced at the girl who'd come over and hugged her.

It was the girl was puppy ears and a tail. One of the girls she'd seen upon coming around the corner. After a few moments, Evelyn smiled shyly back at the girl. "Hi." She whispered, suddenly shy.

Niki watched, noticing the other girl's parent from the one that flinched as Evelyn was hugged. Niki just sat back and waited for her daughter's reaction, curious as to how Evelyn would react to this sudden action.

LLK
To other girls, Cream's action may have seemed odd but to her, it made the perfect sense. Riddik was her bro, the dearest thing in her life (even more dearest than mama and papa). Of course she would greet him when he wokes up!

The wolf girl's tail wagged from side to side as she clinged on Riddik's arm. For a short moment, she closed her eyes and smiled happily. Then her nose picked the same scent that she had smelled after bumping into Alice. It didn't take long for her to locate the scent. It came from that girl the doggy girl was with.

"Nice smell," she informed to Riddik, pointing at Evelyn.

Kyo was greeted by a little smile when he sat next to Noor. While it may had not looked like it, Noor felt much safer now when he was there. She had actually felt quite lost. The situation, being part of the family now, it was scary and confusing situation.

But now there were two kids in this world that loved her and Kyo, almost as much as they loved themselves.

Kyo
"How are you holding up Noor?" The elf glanced slightly at the woman, knowing how much of a change this must be. It was much like when Kyo first had received Oak, then shortly after that the children just seemed to follow suit, "This must be a big change for you." Kyo nodded. Glancing away and towards Oak as he remembered they day that he appeared... then Opuntia... then Coudray, which of course he wasn't sure if that was a mistake or not... and last, but not least Riddik.

Riddik followed... well more like dragged behind Cream quietly. Sniffing at the air as he went along. It was almost time to eat something, but to him it was dinner time anytime. Riddik glanced the figure up and down, "Nice smell?" the boy looked confused, "but she not fish?". Riddik shook his head as his tummy began to growl, "It's be about dinner time?" The polar bear boy questioned his sister.

Kittygriffin
Alice taking Evelyn's smile and quiet hi as a sign of acceptance grinned and bounced even more than before, then taking Evelyn's hand tugged her lightly in the direction of the other two. If it was just her she would have just ran over but one friend had already fallen over today and she didn't want to risk Evelyn falling at well.
She wanted to go over to the other two more than ever, she was sure she had heard something about food, and she really liked food, maybe if all of them worked together her mum would let her have some.

Kiri was releaved to see that the girl hadn't seemed to mind Alice's hug but still kept a good eye on things. Alice was the sweetest creature in existance but she was also full of energy. This would also be the first time Alice was really around this many other kids her age, she hoped Alice would be fine.

Nikiana
Niki watched with a smile as Evelyn was tugged along to meet up with the other two kids. They all seemed to be about the same age, which the woman thought was a good thing. Evelyn needed to meet other kids her own age. Well, besides family. Even with her expanding family, Niki tried to have alone time with each kid as often as possible.

Evelyn blinked at Riddik, shaking her head. "Not fish..." She softly told him. "F'ower." At least that was what she'd been told. The girl watched the others to see what they wanted to do.

LLK

"It is," Noor admitted. "At first I was loner in the forest and now.... I have a family." There was a hint of misbelief in her voice. The concept was new and after this big change in her life, she felt the need to think it in her own. Maybe going to zoo wasn't that good idea after all. Although, Cream seemed happy.

Cream held firmly Riddik's hand when she reached forward to carefully sniff Evelyn. She certainly smelt nice. A small smile was given to the flower girl which after her attenttion went to her belly which made a growling sound as well. She started to look around in hopes to find food or food-giver.

Kyocho
"Fower?" The polar bear cocked his head slightly, "If you a fower, then where is fish?" Riddik looked towards his sister. "We go find fish?" Riddik smiled and started walking off to where Kyo was sitting. He knew where he could find fish... and fish was easily obtainable from the older man he called papa.

"Papa should have fish!" Riddik nodded.

Kyo looked back down toward the ground. "Yeah its a change.."

Kittygriffin
Curious Alice followed Riddik, still with Evelyn's hand in hers, she also grabbed Cream's hand with her free one making a line of four children.

It seemed like at least two of her friends also wanted food. Alice wasn't anymore hungry than ususal but she was always a little hungry. She also wondered what was so special about fish when there was so many other nice foods as well.

Kiri watched as Alice followed the boy with the other two girl's in tow. If this kept up she'd probably have to introduce herself. It was one thing for Alice to play with some children at the zoo but she didn't want the child's parents to be inconvenienced by some strange child, who's parent wouldn't even introduce herself. Didn't help that Alice probably wouldn't talk and so wouldn't explain anything.

Nikiana
"F'ower." Evelyn nodded and stated in response to Riddik. "Fish?" The girl glanced around, wondering about fish. What was with fish? Evelyn smiled as she tagged along in this four child long chain to go see the boy's father and see if there were fish. The girl wasn't really hungry, but she was curious as to what made these fish taste so good.

LLK

Noor gazed at the ground as well, deep in her thoughts. But soon her attention turned towards the growth. She searched for twins and their older brothers. It looked like twins were heading in their way. And they seemed to have friends as well.

Cream nodded to her bro and followed, her fluffy tail wagging happily. She was a bit surprised when Alice took her hand on her own but it didn't seem to bother her.

They walked some time, closer to parents of hungry twins. When Noor and Kyo were clearly visible to them, Cream let go of both Riddik and Alice's hand and ran to Noor's arms.

"Mama!" she whooped, tail wagging gladly as she hugged the hunter woman. Then, oh so adorable puppy eyes were looking straight at Kyo.

"We hungry," she stated, letting a begging whimper out.

Kyocho
Riddik slowly followed behind Cream as he watched her rush to her mother. He was to lazy to put in the extra effort to run to an adult, plus what was it worth to run? All he wanted was food... especially fish and he knew he would most likely to get it. Eventually he made it to his guardian... with his new friends in tow. Quietly he pointed up to his papa and looked back towards the other two and whispered "Papa" Riddik nodded, looking back towards Kyo, "Papa.." He said then looked towards the flower, "Thats a fower!" The boy nodded. A few moments passed by then he regained his train of thought as his stomach growled, "Fish?" the polar bear moaned as he gripped his stomach with both hands and looked up to his papa.

Kyo stared at his polar bear boy a bit confused. Fower? Did he mean Flower? She did look some what like a flower... a plant more like it, a poinsettia most likely. He had seen a large variety of this gorgeous plants in his lab where he worked.
"Well I guess it does make sense to get a bite to eat. It's lunch time anyway." He glanced over toward Noor. "What do you say?" He then looked over towards the other two kids. "How would you two like to join us for lunch? Where are your parents?" The elf questioned.

Page 2
"Sure!" Kyo responded with a smile on his face, "I'm sure some where around here they have a food stand." Kyo pierced his eyes and gazed around the Zoo. There had to be a place to eat... at least any other zoo he had visited they had always been flooded with food stands.

"Oh how about that place over there," Kyo pointed off into the distance, towards a red brick building that was brightly colored with painted animals on its side and menus decorated the front windows.

... Whats a F'ower?

Kyocho

With the sudden rush of growth spurts in his home during the past few weeks, it called for a bit of down time in his life. With that he decided to leave Oak in charge of the kids at home and that gave Kyo a bit of time to spend with Riddik and make sure that he felt like he was part of the family. Thankfully Riddik was in the mood to eat before they left so that his hunger pains wouldn't torment Kyo during their little outing.

The two decided to visit one of the local parks which of course had a well known remarkable garden, in fact most of the part was covered in this garden and it was well equipped with shade. Which would do justice in the blasting summer heat. The two began their short little walk and they eventually found their way to the park and began their little adventure.
"Riddik, what do you think of this park?"

The polar bear looked up as he stood next to his guardian. A little glazed look over his eyes. "Umm... what’s a fower and what’s a park?" The boy quizzed.

"Umm a flower is a plant like that one over there.." the elf lifted his arm up and pointed over towards a bright red tulip, "and this is a park it's an outdoor recreation area." He nodded.

"Oh.." is all Riddik could say as he began to lead the troupe into the park, “This place looks like Oak… is he a park?”

“Umm…. No no he is not a park.” The elf laughed.

Nikiana

Niki was holding the hand of her smallest child, leading the girl into the park. Evelyn had been bugging her mother about flowers a lot lately and, frankly tired of it, Niki had found this park. It happened to have a nice little garden in it and Evelyn could look at all the flowers she wanted to.

"F'owers?" The girl questioned as they entered. Her mother had told her about them. "Where f'owers?"

Nikiana sighed and gestured towards the garden, which caused the girl to race that way. Slowly, the woman followed.

Kyocho
Riddik had let go of Oak's hand and began to adventure on his own, as the two of them eventually made their way into the center of the park, where in the center rested a fountain that towered high into the sky and dripped with crystal blue water constantly and around that rested a bed of flowers all around it. Kyo eventually found a bench and took a seat beneath a shady tree.
"Don't go too far!" The elf cried out as he watched his boy run off and circle the fountain. Every now and again creeping closer to the flowers and taking a big whiff.

"These F'owers are different. They don't smell edible!" Riddik scratched at his head confused, "where are the edible foods?"

"We will get a bite to eat when we get home so don't think about food...your not hungry" the elf sighed. This boy was eating through his wallet.

Nikiana
Evelyn continued to race towards the flowers before coming to a halt as she came to the first ones. "Oooh... pretty!" The girl exclaimed, peering at the close ones and just staring. Niki managed to catch up and grinned as she saw the girl's jaw.

"Pretty, aren't they?"

Evelyn gave a bit of a start to hear her mother so close and nodded. "Me pretty like f'owers?"

Nikiana chuckled and patted the girl. "Very pretty, just like the flowers." She watched as Evelyn raced off to find more pretty flowers, headed towards the fountain at the center of the garden.

Kyocho
Kyocho's Elvin eyes quickly caught a glimpse of two familiar looking people. It was Evelyn and Nikiana, didn't they meet those two at the zoo? Kyocho could barely remember, since he had only meet the two once before.
"Hey Riddik lets go see your friend.."

Riddik looked up from his comfortable position and glared deeply at his guardian, he then looked away and followed Kyo's glance.
"I guess, but when are we going to eat?"

"Umm.. I don't know, but you don't need to eat all the time and you should probably think about something other than food." Kyo nodded as he helped lift the boy up onto his two feet and the two wandered on their way towards the two.

"HEY!" Kyo shouted and waved.

Nikiana

Evelyn gave a bit of a start as someone shouted, interrupting her admiration of the pretty flowers. She quickly looked around for her mother, who was behind her and the girl quickly darted over to Niki's legs. The woman glanced down at the girl before spotting the man and waved back. "Look, Evelyn. It's your friend from the zoo."

The girl peered out from behind Niki's legs, a shy smile on her face. It was the boy from the zoo... She gave a little wave. He'd been nice...

Kyocho

Riddik gave the girl a look over once or twice, he couldn't really keep count of what he was doing... especially at his age. He lifted up on of his fur covered hands or paws... who knew and gave the girl a wave.

"Hi! Why are you hiding?" Riddik quizzed.

Kyo patted his sons head and smiled.
"It's good to see you guys again!"

Nikiana
Evelyn blushed, slowly coming out from behind her mother's legs. "People... scare me." She whispered, her head down and looking at the flowers nearby. "Those are pretty...." She pointed at the flowers, with a bit of a smile on her face.

Niki smiled, glancing down at her daughter. "Yes, it is. Evelyn should make more friends..."

Kyocho
Riddik followed her gaze and stared at the same flowers.... well at least what he thought she was looking at. He pondering to himself over and over again, until he finally spoke out

"If they are pretty then why can I not eat it? Fish is pretty it is sparkly and I can eat thats." He nodded with a smile.

Kyo quickly glanced down, "no you may not eat those," Kyo sighed. "I swear that is all he ever thinks about is food," he placed a hand and moved it slowly across his forehead as he shook it back and forth, " lets think of something else ok?"

Nikiana
Evelyn glanced back up at the boy, her eyes wide. "Don't eat f'owers!" She frowned and seemed to be scolding the boy. "F'owers not food. They pretty and for looking ats."

Niki chuckled at the boy. "Healthy appetite, eh?" She grinned and glanced back down at her own daughter. Well, at least the girl was talking, even if it was to scold the boy.

Kyocho
Riddik stared confused at Evelyn. If it was pretty why could he not eat it? Well it surely did not look delicious to him to tell you the truth, but he was starting to get confused on what he could eat... and what wasn't to be eaten.
"oh... you look at it? Why?"

Kyocho stopped shaking his head for a moment and stared at Niki, "Yeah I would say so, but it's a tad bit too healthy," he shrugged his shoulders and sighed. Riddik was burning out his supply of food at home and it was happening pretty quickly. He had just began to notice that the time spent at the grocery store had jumped.

... Halloween Party

Page 1
This was going to be Kyocho's second time here at the head quarters and it would be the first time he had ever brought Riddik here. What better way to introduce him to the HQ and scare the living crap out of his little polar bear... maybe it would help curve his appetite in the long run?

"Come on Riddik lets go we are going to be late!" The elf shouted back behind him as the two of them wandered down the streets of Gaia, gazing at the random Halloween decorations that filtered through the building.

"I'm coming..." The boy shouted back, he wasn't looking to forward to going to this "party", since his day wasn't going all according to plan. First Kyo refused to give him a snack this morning and now he had to give up his plans to have a nice relaxing day...

"Here we are," Kyo gazed up at the building and then looked down at his polar bear friend. "You ready?"

"No..." Riddik whispered back.

"Well deal with it," Kyo laughed and dragged the boy inside.

The first thing that Kyo noticed was the decor, rather spooky... but inviting. "This is going to be fun," Kyo then gave Riddik a small slight rather strong push inside and pointed off to the distance, "Look a snack table."

"Huh?" Riddik looked up, his eyes rather large with excitement. "YAY!" He shouted and ran off towards the refreshments.

Page 4
Kyo quickly knelt down and grabbed onto Riddik and held him in his arms as the gazebo shattered into splinters and flung themselves all across the party.
"What the hell?" he cursed under his breath, "are you ok?" he then looked down between his arms where Riddik was protected.

"Yeah.." The polar bear like boy responded, "I'm getting scared can we leave now..?" Riddik looked up, "I'm so hungry.." he whispered and ignored all the crazy sounds that filled the room. All he could think about was filling his stomach and that was his only concern. Then the wind came and gave a slight tug at his body.

"Don't pull on me like that, Riddik." Kyo muttered as he stood back up as best as he could, while Riddik was holding onto dear life on his leg.

"I didn't do it on purpose.." Riddik looked up at his guardian confused at what he said. He must have not felt that wind... it was pretty strong.

Then the wind picked up and was stronger this time, causing Riddik to loose his grapple on Kyo's pant leg and back he fell flat on his butt.
"Ooww..." He growled and roared and showed his inner bear vocals. Further and further he was dragged and closer and closer Riddik came to the sink hole.

Kyo dove toward his charge, but his reach wasn't far enough.

"RIDDIK, this isn't time for any games!"

"Kyo! I isn't playing!" Riddik tried to dig his claws into the ground as he came closer and closer to the pool, but it was too late.

... Night Court

Page 1
THUNK!

Riddik slowly opened his eyes and all he could see was total darkness. At first he began to think that he was still back at the party and that night came pretty quickly, but then he realized that Kyo wasn't there.
"Hello?"

Riddik slowly pushed himself up off the ground and looked around once again and saw that there were other children here with him, none of them he had never meet before.

"Where are we?" Riddik called out and hopped that one of them would know. He then looked down and saw that something was different. He wasn't wearing any clothes and he wasn't on two feet like he was before. Instead he was on all four, but the weights still remained on his front paws. His jaw also felt different, he clamped down and felt more teeth then he did before. All of a sudden he began to feel a surge of fright.

Page 1, 2nd post
Riddik looked up at the rabbit looking man, "Who are you?" He tried to choke out as a flock of bats flew over head. He was getting more nervous about being out here more then normal.
I gotta be brave! I'm a bear...

Riddik then turned his head as noticed that they were not alone, another child was running up towards the two of them.
"Who's that one?"

Page 1, 3rd post
"Oh..." Riddik looked down towards the ground and looked back up and watched as Belle wandered over, she looked like a flower from back home... and those are something that he shouldn't eat. His stomach began to grumble and growl lightly and only noticeable to himself, Riddik wanted to go home and enjoy a nice fish.

Riddik turned his head and followed the flock of bats to where they were flying off too, a cave huh? That didn't sound and more safe then being out here... what if there was something in that cave... like a monster?
"Are you sure about that," Riddik shook his little bear head, "what if there is a monster in there?"

Page 1, 4th post
Riddik stared up at Owen and questioned his way of thinking. Was it because he was older than him and more experienced or was it because he was a foolish rabbit who didn't believe in monsters... like the monster who hid in the closet or under the bed. Now those must have been real monster... right?

"I don't know," Riddik muttered and whispered, "It sure does look spooky. What if the monster doesn't like the taste of bats... maybe they taste like celery?" Just the sound of the word "Celery" made the polar bear boy squirm. "Now that's gross... although Kyo says I have to eat it."
