My comments may be a tad spoilery so its in white:
I thought 'the runaway bride' was slighty better (in its quirkyness) and it diiiiiid drag on abit in the middle, and maybe there were abit tooo many firey, explosion running-round actiony-scenes for my liking...but other then that it was alright =] Astrid was alright too, but honestly , did she really have to fall for the doctor, was it necessary? gonk omg the alons-y alfonso line had me in histerics...best part of the episode!
O how I now cannot wait for series four to start! Seriously that trailer made it look mighty fine! lol, and please excuse the emoticon xD

Actually, "Voyage Of The Damned" was better than I expected, but *SPOILERS* it was a bit too "Poseidon Adventure"-y, cramming in attempts at character development to make you care about the survivors. At least the whole plot came down to a colossal business scam, and not some contrived attempt to conquer the world at Christmas, which I appreciated.
It would have been too easy to save Astrid by having her stored in the transporter buffer a la Scotty in the Next Generation episode "Relics", or by having The Doctor magically "cure" her "pattern degradation". Even so, I don't think we've seen the last of her. Her semi-existence is a useful "dangler"...
One last point - I suspect Mr Copper may cause some problems in the future - trouble for Torchwood, perhaps? *END SPOILERS*
All in all, very entertaining - and who wasn't watching for the teaser at the end? Plenty of Sontarans (yay!), but no suggestion of Daleks this season coming - but that doesn't really mean anything, does it...?

I think the best christmas special so far, I liked how they showed how the doctor couldn't choose who lived and who died, everytime the evil dude in the suit came on the screen at the end I just yelled "No Justice" at the T.V. It did drag a bit and Banakafalatta's inability to speak properly annoyed me, but apart from that it was a good episode, I liked the idea that christmas in London isn't safe anymore it made me laugh, and I was glad that at least one survivor managed to have a nice life, and the goodbye scene, that wasd better than (Spoiler in white) Astrid just falling into the engine in slow motion. I would give it a 5/5.

This is total sadness. I live in the U.S so I have to wait until they show it on Sci Fi. cry We don't get the Christmas special until mid-July!

Comments in white, just in case...
I thought it was a bit too sad for Christmas Day in many ways. There was some comic relief (the Doctor making the champagne spurt everywhere!), but in general I found myself feeling more like crying than laughing.
Bannakaffalatta got slightly annoying, but I loved the bit with him and Astrid...
The last bit with Astrid sacrificing herself then ending up as stardust was very poetic, but WAY too sad! I ended up in tears, and I didn't want to do that on Christmas Day...
In general though, amazing performances from everyone involved.
That's me done!

Hmm. Fantastic premise mired by dodgy villain and dodgy midget.
Teaser was pretty dodgy as well, really.
New Who theme kicks all shades of bottom though so I guess it's alright.

I'd give it a 3.5/5. Better than Runaway Bride, worse than the Christmas Invasion.
Tho, I loved the bit where after Astrid [spoilers] fell into the engines with Bob Capricorn (of the flashing gold teeth) and the Doctor is walking all stoic and Timelordy through the explosions and falling debris. Then he puts his arms out, snaps his fingers and the Hosts grab one each. Like a mack daddy pimp and his number one bitches! xd [/spoilers]
All in all, a nice belated Christmas gift. (I saw it on the 28th)
The teasers have got me in shakes. I'm jonesing (lol) for my Doctor fix. I'm a little worried about the next season, tho. I think Catherine Tate is a bit of a celebrity in the UK (i dunno, I live in the US), but, like I said before, Runaway bride was a dud for me. I hope next season does better than that ep. Of course, I'm required by law to hate the newest Companion for at least half an episode, or until she proves her worth- whichever comes first.

Spoilers...
I agree with others when they say it was better then Runaway Bride, because I just don't like Donna. I REALLY liked Astrid though, she could have been a VERY VERY good companion. Really, though, was all the snogging necessary? I mean, the one at the end was fine, but she seemed so reserved the rest of the time...to just kiss him like that was a bit much...I liked how he was all flustered afterwards though...
