He rolled his eyes acceptable with his sense of humor to her fashion. "Get back to me hm? I'll take that as a 'be ready for one heck of a redemption period Xearus Calder'." Chuckling afterwards and shaking his head. Though he was struck with that moment again as he watched his wife go about nursing their daughter...that was one of those beautiful sights that you could never get tired of seeing. "We'll make all the calls we need when they're settled and you get yourself some real rest. They won't die if they don't know five minutes after we do. If anything...now you and your patients really have something in common to talk about don't you."

"You might have to pamper me for a long while," she agreed, nuzzling him. "Take care of the noon feedings for a week or two. Change all dirty diapers. And I'm so excited I can punish you with that sort of stuff now." She watched her infant daughter sucking on her finger and felt that same warmth she often got when Xearus gazed at her like she was everything, slip through her body. "We do. And I can now say I know the true miracle of life." Snuggling down more comfortably in the bed and letting her eyes close though her finger never moved.

He watched his wife in bed for a long time, even as nurses had come to take babies back to the nursery and Sam had fully slipped into much deserved sleep. By that time he had grabbed a chair and let her have the bed, but still watching her. It wad funny...he felt just as exhausted as her...well maybe not completely. Though he did perk up a little at the sound that wouldn't be audible to humans really but he heard it. The soft sound of kids singing in their little paegent downstairs. He looked back to his wife at that, but she was still asleep. "I'll tell them that you heard them...if you were awake you would of. They do try to impress you." Chuckling lightly and slipping down in his chair some, trying to find some comfort for rest himself, though he knew he wasn't going to get any...mind too busy whirling with this new world of fatherhood he'd been thrust in times two.

An hour later, a tentative knock sounded on the door and in poked a little blonde head. She scampered in, still dressed in her angel costume and scrambled up on the bed, pillow tucked nice and snug beneath the huge bathrobe serving as an angel's toga. Opening her mouth, she began to sing the only song she knew by heart.
Way in a manager
No crib for a bed.
The lit-tle Lord Jeshush
Lay down his sweek head.
The staws in the skyyy
Look down where he lays
And little Lord Jesush
Asleep on the bay....
"'Kay, now it's dones." Giving a nod to Xearus and Sam, she once again slipped out of the room and toddled off down the hall.
