Otherkin isnt impossible as i belive nothing is impossible and every idea had to come from somewhere, but it does seem a bit like people trying to be something from a fantasy world only because they cant stand being human. I love fantasy and often say i hate this reality, but i accept im human. Also humans are amazingly complex individuals, we can act like many different things, it doesnt mean we are or were them. Theres many, many different factors the affect who we are and how we act today, admittedly yes past lives is one of them, but only one in the thousands that make us who we are, if u want to bark all the time there be more than one factor to why that is, if you get my drift. I also have to say, it is the here and now that matters, why bother trying to work out what you once were if it doesnt change the fact that you are a normal human today, if it does thats a different story, but i am a seeing is beleiving type of person unfortunately so i can be hard to convince. Apart from all that i wish that the world was a very different place to what i see it as, i just need to someone to prove this reality wrong.

Kadaj Ishamu I do believe in this, because I'm a "furry" so to speak. Furrys' are people who consider themselves animals. kind of like another side to them. My "fursona" (or animal counterpart) is a wolf/dragon hybrid. But, this is all imagination, in my opinion. I'm furry too, but generally I keep them separate. Therianthropy is something that's messed with my brain and can't be changed, but no doubt it's influenced me being interested in the furry culture and anthro art. But that's just a bit of fun. I can change and mould my fursona however much I want. wink

I too agree with Ich bin Nackt. I feel at times more animal then human but I realize that I'm human and can't change that. I believe that we were reborn human for a reason but I can't deny that I feel a kinship with an animal or feel more animal then human.

I've really enjoyed what everyone has said on the topic here. I love you guys, the discussions in here are fascinating. And not to mention, they keep me from things I really should get to doing.
Ahem. My two cents worth. >w<
When I first read this, my initial reaction was "lulz I ish angelz ph33r meh mortalz!1111!!!!!!" simply because I've spent far too much time in the GD, and thus, my mind is slowly corrupting. There are actually people who feel it nessecary to discern themselves from others by the use of some 'higher than human' qualities, which I find absurd.
What I am interested in, having only deeply considered the topic a few months ago, is whether or not it is possible to carry the 'psychic' attributes of some otherkin entity. Do I make sense? Like a psyvamp. That seems legitimate to me, mostly because it's just a trait likened to the abilities of an otherkin. They aren't really vampires, they just tend to use energy, like a Vampire would use blood. Maybe it's something to that affect? (Too late at night for me to phrase things eloquently, I'm sorry. >.<)
On the topic of Demons and Angels. Both of those words feel extreme to me. Almost like they're classifying. I believe there to be malevolent and benevolent spirits perhaps, but not Angels and Demons. Malevolent spirits I've dealt with. Just because I happen to be afflicted with a malevolent spirit, does not mean I am a demon. That's just silly. razz
Lol, a bit less than coherent, but I have about a thousand mental trains derailing right about now. Let me know if this makes sense to anyone.
Blessed Be ~[Xena] heart

According to an academy based on otherkin, I have three bloodlines, Faery, Vampire, And Demon. I think my fae is most obvious, however I was told once I have kids my demon side will be the dominant. Although there is explanations for all, Fae... well thats a given, flighty, can't stay in one place, shimmery, Dabbles in mind-alteration... A fairly common trait in females these days! Vampire... I'm anemic, so I constantly crave blood due to lack of iron. Apparently I'm intense and have "air qualities" which has to do with voiency. Demon... I'm a red-headed Aries, need I say more? I have a loud bar and even worse bite *giggles*

Wing-Goddess how do you know you have three bloodlines?....and I'm sorry but being an aries with red hair can hardly be enough to call yourself part demon confused I was just going by what I was told from an otherkin bloodline meet up group. The part of being a redheaded aries being enough to be a demon was a joke, clearly missed.

This is linked to the idea of metamorphasis... sort of... In metamorphasis, you focus your energy and think of yourself developing characteristics linked to what you are trying to turn into (eg- if you want to turn into a dog, you focus on loyalty, your sense of hearing and smell, agility etc) and then build the image of (a dog) and what its made of, and then you should, in your minds eye, turn into it. Or something like that. Ive not studied it in great depth.
But its still the idea that your spirit isnt necessarily matched to the body. I think its possible, but not in such a literal sense.... that doesnt really sound right, but its hard to explain... I belive its entirely possible that your spirit is closer to that of a faery or dragon or whatever, because you are in tune with a particular sense or characteristic of that creature. Or maybe its something to do with re-incarnation? Like, in a past life, you were another creature?
