My favorite was definitely The Dark Tower,
2nd The Langoliers. Something about that book just scared me. I couldn't stop asking myself, "What would I do if I were them?" First book of his that kept me awake scared. blaugh I heart ed it tho'!!!

*btw, we should make it a rule that people need to put spoiler warnings and the story there talking about if there post gives anything crucial to the plot away*

Hello guys. =) How is everyone?

I'm not sure what my favorite book of his is. It's easier to tell you the books I don't like instead of trying to pick an all time favorite. XD Anyway, "Bag of Bones", "Pet Sematary" and "The Tommyknockers" were not that great, in my opinion. Considering the number of books I have read of his, it's pretty good I've only disliked three of them. =)

Hello Everyone! ^^

To be honest, I don't have a favorite books of his. Almost all of them I just love... of course, I have read books of his that I did not like as much such as The Tommyknockers, The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon, and Dreamcatcher.

But don't get me wrong, they were good books, I just liked his others better ^^

Anyway, my favorite book of his, and one of my favorite books period, is IT.
As a series, The Dark Tower was maybe a little better, but as a single work, IT is better. Haunting, memorable, and really epic. (In the scale of the people and emotions involved.)

I've only read one Stephen King book as of yet... I started with the classic "Carrie". I can't wait until I've the time to read more of his work... If they get better than that, they're going to be amazing.

Hey, just joined.
I have a lot of his books, but I haven't gotten around to read most because I've gone to read some J.R. Ward.

I rally like Cell. Kind of scared me a little how I pretty much do live in Boston, I could picture it exactly. razz
Rose Red was pretty awesome, too.

Green Mile FTW!
Dark Tower series is really awesome.
Dreamcatcher disturbed me greatly.. but was cool.

And I was like 10 when I read IT.. my mom kept saying... I advise against that.. but I was like.. I'm a big kid, I can totally hack it!!!! Yeah... I'm not ashamed to admit, I was convinced IT was beneath my four poster bed just waiting to snag my feet and drag me screaming under the bed to devour my soul in a bloody torturous manner. I wet the bed for 2 nights thereafter because I simply refused to crawl out of bed to go pee. I was in fear of my life, and my mom promptly beat my butt till I was more afraid of her then IT. LOL

However, to this day the freaking book and the movie give me goosebumps. I'd like to light it on fire and destroy all record of it.

Hi there. Thank you for the invite smile

I haven't read all the books, but that leave plenty of room for the great adventure, right? If memory serves: The Stand, Dolores Claiborne, The Tommyknockers, Bog of Bones, Black House (in collaboration with Peter Straub), Four Past Midnight. I wish I could pair them out, but they all stand alone and are awesome. I guess the next logical choice off the shelves would be The Talisman (to complete Black House as a prequel). After that maybe the Dark Tower series, since it goes further into the alternate world "the King" started. To be clear: I learned on his website that most of his books touch on that other world. If anything, that's what makes me want to read ever one of his works to tie in everything to some great central theme.

Thanks again wink

I've read Carrie, The Shining, The Dark Half, half of Dreamcatcher, Eyes of the Dragon, and half of Cujo. I'm too noncommittal when it comes to books and such so I don't always finish them. I get distracted with something else.

Anyway, I really didn't like Carrie. Nothing about it really grabbed me. The Shining is possibly the best book I've ever read, though. Brilliant the way it personifies the hotel. What I read of Cujo was good, and what I read of Dreamcatcher was great. The Dark Half was very good, and the Eyes of the Dragon (the first book of his I read) was pretty good too. However, with the Eyes of the Dragon I hate how the critic reviews say it's chilling and horrifying since I read that he purposefully didn't make it a horror so that his daughter would read it (I guess she won't read his horror books).

Ah yes, and I'm in the middle of Needful Things. Excellent.
