The elf admitting that she was afraid of humans at first, put a lot into perspective for the boy. He absorbed the information like a dry sponge, wondering what about humans was so scary to begin with...although, looking at their history of war and domination amongst themselves, it wasn't hard to see. RuiZhi's eyes got wide when she mentioned the dragon, and he almost asked another question but mentally slapped himself. Now wasn't the time! They could save that for another day, but right now, it was about magic. He could ask about the other races at another visit.
The boy made a few more notes; the stomach, for Irame, and that's where he'd study the chakra's and chi. He gave a curt nod of understanding to the woman; he understood that it might be different for everyone, as that was just the natural flow of things. RuiZhi supposed some things weren't so different between races after all.
"I see...thank you," he commented, adding another note. He scratched his nose, fixing her with a serious expression. "What is magic to you, Heru?" Just as drawing it was different for each person, it meant something different for each being, and that was very important to the boy. Perhaps different practicality or approaches garnered different responses and usage of magic, and since Irame was a blood cleric, he was most curious about her drive and feeling for it.

Irame looked at RuiZhi for a moment, almost like she didn’t understand what he had asked. It wasn’t that, it was just that she had never been asked the question. The closest question that she had ever received had been one that she had been asked hundreds of years ago when she had been just a child. Generally people didn’t what magic was to her, it was something that people didn’t care about, and it was strange to hear it asked,
“To me… Magic is a way to make life better for everyone that I may, as well as a way to show my loyalty as well as try to atone for anything wrong that I have done.” She didn’t explain what wrong she might have done, nor why she would need to do penance, but it was magic was to her.
A way to help people and to say that she was sorry.

RuiZhi balked a little. Atonement? "Is it religious for you?" he asked in curiosity, hoping he wasn't being rude. That would put a different spin on his idea and understanding of magic, if it was more based in religion than ability. He didn't dabble in religious affairs himself - it was hard to believe in anything after the massacre of his homeland - and he wasn't sure if he should be intruiged or disheartend by the prospect of faith being involved.
Certainly, faith had to be involved to an extent, but if it was purely religious for the elves, then...well, that didn't really explain Javelin at all. She was coniving, intelligent but a little off her rocker, and...then again...perhaps the magic made her that way. There was just so much to consider, RuiZhi really didn't know if he was back at square one or running in circles.
"That will be my last question for your today, Heru," he said politely, bowing a little. "You've given me a lot to consider, and I'm excited to start my research. I'd like to come by again, and perhaps, share my results and likely ask more questions...?"

“It is religious for me, penneth, it is indeed.” Irame said, looking down at her desk, mouth turning into a thin line. Truly magic could be religious, and she was sure that it was for some, such as clerics, but to her… To her there was much religion, and much more than the simple mouth payment that some people gave their religion.
She glanced back up and smiled. She didn’t need to darken the child’s thoughts with her own worries or concerns. If he wanted to know about religion then he would ask her about it. Right now he wanted to know about magic, and that should be what she should talk about.
“But do not fear, for it is not so for many others. I know that for many wizards it is not religious at all. A challenge to be overcome and try to master, perhaps, but not religious. I do not believe Dante, for example, connects any religious views with magic. It is as I said before. Highly personal.
“But if that is all that you have to ask then I will not keep you any longer. I am glad to help you however I may and would love to answer your questions. I would also love to hear how your research is coming along, if you would like to tell me.” She said bowing her head. “So please do come back when you are available. I will be sure to make time for such an occasion, RuiZhi.”

He watched her carefully, feeling a little uncertain. RuiZhi didn't like to see that expression on her lovely face, she looked too much like...Dante. That thought made him smile just a little, eyes meeting hers as she looked back at him. "Is that something we can talk about too?" He clarified quietly, "Your faith? If not, it's okay, I just..." The boy caught himself. He was asking more personal questions, and they were having less and less to do with magic. That was not smart.
"I, ah, it's nothing. I would love to share my research with you, Heru!" He continued on quickly, hoping yet again he had not insulted her. "It'll mostly be theory, but it'd be good to know if there's any basis or not." RuiZhi jotted down a few more notes with possible questions before he folded the notebook against his stomach, smiling his usual bright smile. "Thank you for your time, as always. I really appreciate it, I really do!" He glided over the floor to the door, pausing by it to make sure there was nothing left to be said.
At least, nothing on her end. Goodness knows he was fountain of questions and curiosity, and he did not want to drown Irame in it. Moderation was the key.

Irame was quite for a moment. She would share her beliefs in her faith with RuiZhi, and gladly, but she just didn’t want him to feel that she was trying to push them on him. That and she wasn’t sure how much she could really go into without mentioning things that she really didn’t think were appropriate topics of conversation. It didn’t take her long to come to a conclusion though.
“I do not mind discussing my faith, if you feel comfortable hearing about it. I would simply hope that I do not bore you. Especially if you come to me with information about your research. I am sure that that would be much more interesting than me speaking on religious beliefs.” she smiled and stood, walking over to the door after him.
“I look forwards to seeing you again, penneth. Until then, may a star shine upon you.” She said, translating the Elven farewell into English as well as bowing her head.
She certainly hoped that all would be well with him, and that he would find all that he was looking for. Maybe he could go and see Dante even. The only thing that she was worried about was her still being available to talk to by the time that he had finished.
