This was one of the stranger conversations she had had, no doubt. Etana could do nothing but look on in surprise as the other girl bounded ahead of her and out of sight. As strange as it was, Etana had to admit it was kind of a relief. The girl didn't seem interested in talking to her, not one iota, and Eta wasn't so sure it was worth the awkward conversation anyway.

"Yes. Alright then. Bye now," Eta stuttered. But it was no matter; Avani was gone from her sight. Thankful to her for the easy meal, yet troubled by the lioness's completely opposite view on the world, Eta wasn't sure what she felt. Among relief there was also confusion, embarrassment, and the feeling of an opportunity lost.

Etana chose to feel relief. Putting this incident out of her mind, she turned and fled in the other direction.
