Nodoka woke up around 5:00 and got dressed. He stuffed his kitten, Kazoku, in his shirt. He was up early as usual. He walked outside and sat against a tree gazing at the stars. He sat out there for hours. He glanced at his watch, 7:50. "Class soon..." He mumbled but didn't feel like moving just yet.

Avalon walked around the courtyard absentmindedly, thinking about what she'd be forced to endure today. Imoto led her around, but occasionally one could hear a loud yelp from the courtyards as Imoto purposely led Avi into something solid, or the pond (but Avi got out of that one nice and dry)...
"Imoto!! What the hell?! Now I've got another bruise to decorate my already blue knees!" Avi cried out to her cat. The small feline just meowed and seemed to smirk. "Evil cat... You're going to pay one day... Oh hey, that rhymes..." Avi was back to her wanderings. She still had a good ten minutes to go till first bell, she refused to be early to class.
By now, students were coming from the dorms and heading for their classes. Some looked rather strange; faerie wings, alien features, some even looked half dragon. Avi was long since used to the crowd, even though she had transferred at the beginning of the school year about two months ago. She was a sophomore, but she had yet to find herself a circle of friends. Her distrustfulness and hot temper were making it a bit difficult, but she wasn't an outcast. She just hadn't found her place yet.
She was alone in the courtyard now, eight and a half minutes to class and everybody had gone to their classrooms. 'Maybe I should go... conform just a bit? Nah. I've got math first. What's the use?' Avi thought. She kept walking around in circles but decided to pay more attention so she wouldn't find herself running into another tree.

Nodoka saw the girl wandering around the courtyard. As she wandered closer he called, "Greetings!" He hadn't seen such a normal person in a while. His apperance was perfectly normal so people challenged him often. This was the first person he'd met that was allmost as normal looking as him. And the best part.... she had a cat!

(((o.0) oops... i sowwy, I'm not good with cues stressed ))
Avalon was startled from her thoughts by a boy shouting his greetings to her. 'Who the hell...?!' She thought as she jumped a bit. She looked him over: dark hair, rather normal-looking. 'Normal-types are rare... I wonder why I've never seen him before?' She was so startled she didn't realize she was smiling at him. Once she got control of herself again, she wiped the smile off her face. She didn't like the way she looked when she smiled.
"Greetings, eh? Same to you," Avi said to him. She walked forwards a bit. "The names Avalon," she said as she extended her hand. She was a bit wary, mainly because he had caught her off guard and the fact that she had never seen him before. She was new, but she thought she knew the place well enough by then.
Imoto had by this time followed Avi to where she stood near the newcomer and started rubbing agains her Onee-chan's legs. She meowed to get some attention.
"Oh, and this is my lovely little Imoto," Avalon said, picking up her cat. "She may be on fire, but she doesn't burn."

Nodoka shook Avolon's hand. "Nodoka," he introduced himself. "I have a cat as well... but he's very shy." He reached down his shirt and pulled out his mewling kitten. "His name is Kazoku." The kitten scrambled out of Nodoku's hand and pushed his head into Nodoku's stomach.

"Nice to meetcha, Nodoka," Avi said. She managed to keep her smile in check, but when he took out his adorable little kitten, she found she was having trouble staying stoic. "Kazoku? He's adorable!" She said with a gentle look on her face. She loved cats, all sorts of cats; flaming cats, kittens, normal cats, she loved them all. It's too bad Avi hated smiling. When the little kitten pressed his head against Nodoka's stomach, Avi had to work hard to supress a 'SQUEEEE!!!'
Imoto started squirming, wanting to get a better sniff at this new cat. She mewed and stretched herself till her could sniff the cat's ears. Imoto snorted when she found Kazoku absent of flaming ears. Avi supressed a laugh. "Wow..." She said. "I have such a funny sister...cat... thing?"

"Thats your sister then?" But before Nodoka could listen for an answer, the bell rang. He looked at his watch: 8:00 ((right?)) He jumped up and threw his backpack over his shoulder, and created a perfectly spheracle ball of ice, "You can have it," he said and dropped it into her hands. It was heavy. He took off toward the school door, with Kazoku stuffed back in his shirt.
His first period was history and he was late. Mr. Tolm was furious and told him that he had to write on the board at the of the day. Mr. Tolm was the only teacher that didn't like him. All the other teachers liked him because he got straight A's. The next period was science. Kazoku got restless and squirmed out of Nadoka's shirt. Mrs. Hill wasn't too mad but she did make him put Kazo away. Next was math. All went well in math, Kazo was asleep and the work was only reveiw, so he didn't get any homework.
Nodoku walked briskly through the halways to the lunch room. He took a table at the back of the room where no one was sitting. He brought out his mewlig kitten, and began to feed him little peices of fish. For some reason he found himself glancing around the room for somthing. Although he didn't know what.

Avi couldn't answer his question before the bell rang. She just barely managed to catch the perfect sphere of ice Nodoka had created before he zoomed off. It soon began to melt, so Avi decided to enjoy it and popped it in her mouth. 'I don't think he knew I love chewing on ice. Darn, now I've got math... ' She grumbled in her head.
She was nearly late for math, but managed to sneak in unnoticed. Since she was new, the teachers haven't begun to recognize her face. 'Let's keep it that way...' She thought. For now, she was fine staying in the shadows. Ms. Swanson carried on her class. It was easy stuff that Avi already knew, so she quietly played with Imoto in the back of the class.
Then came English with MR. Thompson. He loved Avi for her vivacity, but Avi hated the attention. English was always troublesome. Next came a free period which Avalon enjoyed very much. Of course, she didn't do anything usefull. History with Mr. Tolm wasn't too much of an inconvenience, though history thoroughly bored Avi.
It took too long for lunch to finally roll around. She walked into the lunch room grabbed her lunch, and was about to go outside to the courtyard when she saw Nodoka sitting by himself by the back. He stood out, mainly because he was so normal, secondly because he was feeding his cat. Well, that's what really caught Avi's eye. 'That little cat is so adorable!!' She thought to herself as she walked over to him.
"Ello, mind if I sit here?" She asked as she sat down. Formalities were only said, not entirely followed by Avi. "Thanks for the ice cube, it helped me survive math."

"Yea, I don't own the chair." Nodoka said as Avi sat down. He smiled, "It wasn't an ice cube... It was a sphere." Nodoka said this gentley not challengingly. "I don't see how it helped you survive math but im glad anyway... What class do you have next? I'm training to control electricity. What are your powers?" Nodoka blushed, "Oh crap, I'm asking too many questions arent I? You don't have to answer them."
Kazoku, full of fish, hesitantly padded over to Avi and stuck his nose out to sniff her.
"Looks like Kazo is warming up to you." Nodoka said.

"Ice cube, ice sphere, same thing. It helps cool my head, what with flaming ears and all. Besides, it's fun to chew," Avi said. Upon realizing she just said something remotely wrong-sounding, she continued, "Ice cubes, I mean... Anyways, I have science next. Electricity and ice, huh? Well I've got flame-osity and shape shifting into another, larger Imoto up my sleeves. I don't mind the questions," she said.
When the cat began to sniff her, Avi couldn't hold back her smile any longer. Or her squee, though she made sure it was quiet. "Awww!!! Why are cats so adorable?? I swear, they're too cute to be safe!!" She said, reaching out a finger to let the small kitten sniff her. "I'm kinda half cat myself, it's why they take to me so well," Avi said good-naturedly. "And now I have a question for you. Doesn't the ice-ness and electricity conflict, what with conductivity and whatnot?"

Nodoka scratched the back of his head, "I've wondered that myself." ((i really have)) "They don't really, i can use ice, then use electricity, but i haven't been able to use them both at the same time without electricuting my self." sweatdrop
"You can shape shift? Will you show me some time?" Nodoka asked.
Kazoku pounced on Avi's arm and padded up to her shoulder to get a beter sniff at her ears.
"Although... i'm not allowed to use my electricity out sice of the gym... i had an... accident." Nodoka said

Assari sorted his weapons out and made the second half of the enormus gym tidy. Today all of the students would begin their training amd the school decided to mix all of the grades together. This was Assiri's free period. He went over his planner for the class. All they would do today was choose a weapond based on there power, personality, strength, and what they could handle the best.

Avi chuckled, then caught herself. 'Jeez, this guy has all my barriers down and it's pretty much the first time I've met him! He's got skills...' "I thought as much. There, that's about the only thing I've ever learned from science!" He asked about shapeshifting. He seemed so excited about it that Avi would have blushed if she had let herself. "Yeah, sure. Just so long as there's someplace to change afterwards. The flames don't like the clothes... as I found out in a rather embarrassing way... *cough cough* Ah hey! That tickles!!" Avi cried as the little kitten sniffed her ears. "What a funny little cat you got yourself here!"
When Nodoka mentioned something about an accident, Avi ignored the adorable little Kazoku and paid attention to his owner. "An accident you say?"

Rajani Ilahi-ra walked down the pathways of the school till she reached the gym, where Assiri, the weapons teacher, was busy at work. "Hello, Assiri, how do you like your new shedule arrangement?" She asked him, leaning against the doorway. "Having all the classes at once will be very interesting to watch. Do you mind if I sit in?" She asked with a smile. She liked Assiri, very direct and skilled. He hadn't suffered like she had, but it's not like she could possibly hold that against him.

"I do not mind." Assari answered to the request to sit in, "The scedule arrangement is interesting. I will enjoy discovering the interactions with different age groups."

Kazoku settled himself between Avi's ears and began purring at the warmpth.

"Yea, it happend when i first got here... I'm not sure i want to talk about it." Nodoka said after answering Avi's first remark, "I'll see you shape shift in the gym then, where there are locker rooms right below us." Nodoka managed not to blush.

"Oh, that's exactly what I'm here for," Rajani said, walking inside the gym. She grinned at the teacher. "These students are all so fascinating, full of stories, and they're only children! Another side effect of whatever made them unusual in the first place," she commented good naturedly. "Do you yourself spar with the students?" She asked.

"That's okay. You don't have to tell me," Avi said. "And props for not blushing! To tell the truth, I was somewhat hoping you would turn red... Anyways, when do you have weapons training? I think they're mixing the grades up this year," Avi said. "The poor freshies don't know what they're in for, do they?"
