Odd nodded. It'd be a good way to get exercise. Mum was always bugging him about laying around on the couch all day, and it was quite true - but he wasn't fat or anything. He was perfectly healthy...somehow...Whatever. He liked the water.
He began sketching a new little drawing. He liked drawing cartoons a lot, and was often doodling them when he was bored. It was an easy distraction. His mom had tried to take away his sketchbook, but he hid it. He knew he had to focus somehow, it was just so hard...

ShoeBandit snapped awake as Jak was getting a mint out of her desk. She eyed her son before scanning the classroom. Spotting Odd and Rome doing what looked to her like work she smiled, Very good you Odd, Rome! she said before writing something down on her attendance sheet.
Which, when Jak looked over her shoulder looked like plus marks. This teaching this is a breeze! said Shoey happily to herself as she settled back in her chair. She was soon fast asleep once more.

Odd looked up and blinked as ShoeBandit said something about work. Work? He wasn't doing work. He was doodling. He guessed it looked like math and theory. He shrugged. Whatever worked with the teacher. And pretty soon the lady was back asleep again.
"She's kinda off her rocker, isn't she?" Odd said, half to himself and half to anyone within hearing range. At least it'd be an easy course.

Jak moved to where Odd was sitting and smiled. "Yeah, my mom isn't all home. But she means well. She also hasn't got a clue about teaching math!"

Odd laughed and eyed Jak. "You're an odd little thing, arencha?" he said. She meant well, though, that was for sure, or she wouldn't have volunteered her time. It was nice to see good people these days. It seemed the world was so filled with the bad. He looked up at the snoozing ShoeBandit for a moment, and grinned.
"At least she's trying, aye?"

Jak nodded as he looked at his mother. "She does try, and that's what counts. She just is bored to death by math. Now, if you ask her to explain the enginering behind the Bat-Mobile, she'd be all over that. Nevermind that that counts as math!"
Shoey sat up groggily and watched the students for a moment. Satisfied that they were "talking math," she marked in her grade book and promplty went back to sleep.

Rome got out a peice of paper and started making seemingly random foldings on the paper. When he was done it looked like a very elaborate flower. But before it could be easily noticed he crumpled it up and threw it away then began folding again. He needed to get his mind off of flowers! Gah so much built up hormones! -riiiiip-
"Damn it... Totally ripped the paper again. So, dudes, what're you guys going to do for halloween this year? Be tight to dress up..." He pushed the thoughts out of his head as he started to draw on a paper, trying to design the design for his surfboard.

"Not really sure what I'm doing. My home town isn't what it usualy is, so I don't think I'll be trick-or-treating," he glanced at the paper that Rome was drawing on. "You like surfing? I prefer skateboarding myself.

"Ah yeah man, surfing is my passion! My chi, man..Dude like seriously I caught this one beauty of a tube wave last time I went surfing and I thought I was in heaven. Beautiful set of waves. I came back to the shore and it totally felt like I was on cloud 9 man.. Skateboarding is alright for a land sport... Havn't really gotten into it much, I'm thinkin' about it... Would proove interesting for land transportation. You should drag your mom here for halloween. Rumor is, is that there's going to be some fun suprises round here..." Rome added with a playful wink, totally leading on the little dude. If there was rumors about such a thing, he totally just started them.

Odd picked up a piece of paper as well, closing it in his paws, and with a few quick movements, produced a surfboard that stood on the fin beneath it. He put it on Rome's desk, looking down. "My mom's obsessed with origami..." he murmured, and got out his little sketchbook again. He looked up at mention of Halloween, and grinned.
"I would love to go and egg someone's house. My mom would ground me for a year if she found out, but it would totally be worth it," he said with a laugh.

Rome picked up the surfboard carefully and grinned.
"That's awesome. I would love to do that! All I'd have to do is claim innocence and my Mom would force my Dad to believe me... I'd be up for that! You gonna go on the surfing trip? That weekend is supposed to be nice and sunny."

"Surfing trip?" he repeated, his eyes lighting up. He wasn't a great surfer, but he did enjoy it, when mum let him go to the beach. "What weekend?" he asked. He hadn't heard about it before now, but by the grin spread across his face ((which made him look rather goofy)), he certainly looked like he was ready to go. Anything to get away from his own family.

Jak noticed that his mom was waking up again and quickly moved back to where he was "supposed" to be sitting.
Mumbling something unintelegent, Shoe blinked at the class before slipping back into dream land. Bought time she caught up on her sleep!
