Well to say that L'cian was surprised would be the biggest understatement of the turn, which only heightened as he caught a glance at K'rel's reaction to the unexpected visitor. He knew the voice well enough to know that it was indeed Ephia who was standing behind him, and to make things even more uncomfortable she had heard their conversation...or enough of it anyway.

Your words made her happy. Tallith comforted gently, helping to ease the tension in his muscles.

He was extrememly grateful when K'rel spoke up first, not yet sure what to say himself and not trusting the words would come any time soon, but deciding he should say something rather than stand silently he quickly added onto K'rel's sentence.

"Yes, most of us would not accept a stranger in the Weyr and it doesn't seem right to rely on someone else when there is no need to."

Now that wasn't so hard, was it? His dragon chirped happily, glad that his rider was finally beginning to loosen up. He was Wingsecond after all and speaking to important members of the Weyr would only be expected.

"And how is Ariath today?" He asked politely, hoping he could be heard over the two firelizards who had just entered with a blue rider, and recognised her as the one he had seen leaving the Weyr not too long ago on blue Zareth.

He frowned at the noise the firelizards made and felt suddenly thankful he had no greedy, miniature dragon to feed and train. They seemed to have little or no manners.

We are useful they are not. The brown rumbled, mirroring the rider's dislike for them.
Of course Tallith, they could never replace you, but I've heard well trained ones can be taught to take messages.
Why is that useful?
Not for us dear brown, you are all I need. I meant for holders who have never experienced the love of a dragon.

Realising that he had probably been conversing with Tallith longer than necessary he turned his attention back to K'rel and Ephia.

Deciding that a discussion with the two Wingseconds might be just the thing to allow her to relax for the time being she moved around the table, taking caution that her dress didn't get caught on the corners as she rounded it, and took a seat scross from the riders.

"I am glad to hear some have confidence in me, while so many others of the Weyr would shoot down your opinions in a heartbeat."

Ah, you're finally coming out of your shell are you?

Will you be quiet dearest and allow me to enjoy a conversation? Ephia replied, her words dripping with sarcasm. Allowing a grin to set upon her face at the sudden silence Ephia she was quickly bombarded by a tiny blue misile that embedded itself in her hair, curling it's tial around the top of her arm.

Fine, but please make sure that the little one stays away from me while I sleep.

Prying the creature out of her hair, she perched the blue flit on her shoulder before turning her attention back to the riders. "I am sorry about that. Ariath decided she wished to have a word with me and sent Recan to me." Giving the blue flit a sideways look as it picked at her hair she sighed. "Ariath is doing well, though I believe she may rise soon. She's taken more interest in bronzes than she has ever had before." She smiled. "It's awfully strange to 'hear' her criticizing every bronze that happens to fly in her view."

~Hungry~

The usual feeling of hunger upsetted in her mind had Ephia asking a drudge for a small platter of meatrolls to appease the hunger of her blue companion. When the young boy returned the blue flit didn't even attempt to act civial, but dove towards the meatrolls and plucked one off the plate and began devouring it.

T'bell had chosen a spot in the farthest corner of the dining hall in which to have his dinner. The kitchens were celebrating, it seemed, and so he had a nice helping of tubers, bread, cheese, and a roasted slice of wherry with thick gravy decorating his plate. Klah had been replaced, this late in the day, by a fruit juice, and a seperate smaller plate held a single bubbly to act as desert.

The rider ducked over his plate, using his hair to shield himself from the others in the room in the hopes he wouldn't be noticed and could possibly eat in piece.

Slowly, Kirana slipped into the kitchens, carryin an empty bowl which had, most likely, at one point contained meat scraps. Verde was curled contently about her shoulders while Azure was perched on top of her head.

It wasn't until Azure twilled that Kirana was able to spot the familiar wave of hair cascading over a plate of food. He was devoid of his usual companions, but she knew it was him.

Kirana wandered over, gently slippin down at the table next time him and grinning softly, resting her chin on his shoulder, "Heya, pouty."

A quiet chirp greeted her approach from T'bells lap, where Zephyr had been hiding. The greenrider jumped a bit and turned wide eyes to her before breaking into a small smile when he recognized the intruder on his thoughts. "Kirana..."

Kirana beamed softly, "Hey, T'bell," She said. "Feeling all right?" She asked, squeezing his arm lightly as Azure fluttered down and grinning, greeting Zephyr with a gently muzzle nudge.

Still rubbing sleep from his eyes, Lemurrin stumbled into the kitchen. He'd ordered his flits to stay in his room, promising solemnly to bring them food later. His gaze darted a bit nervously around the room- his breath caught in his throat upon realizing who was there. The harper stood silently in the doorway, not sure whether he wanted to be noticed or turn invisible.

Ah, and now it bagan. "Mhm, I'm ok...yourself?" He gestured to the food, "They've set out a nice spread."

Zephyr cooed his reply and hunkered back down into his rider's lap. Flute was on a perch high above, where she could regally look down upon all who entered. It was the queen's way. She saw the familiar form of Lemurrin enter and trilled a greeting at him from her perch, looking down curiously.

Kirana grinned, "Been all right. Sheltered myself in my room before the crestfallen riders could wander back into the weyr and snatch some unwittening girl...ah, well, you know how it goes," She said. "I saw Lillith rose after Ariath was caught. Did she have sense enough to wait herself, or did you have to hold her back?" She asked, brushing his hair back off his face affectionately. She'd have to go about this delicately. She wasn't even sure how to approach the subject she wanted to without being overt.

The harper looked up at the little gold and gave a weak wave of his fingers. Attempting a smile, he settled down across the table from T'bell and Kirana. His hands shook slightly until he busied them with pouring himself a cup of klah. "G'morning, both of you," he murmered, taking a quick sip of the hot liquid.

"She...she waited on her own. I couldn' have held her back. Did try though." He turned back to his plate, his voice carefully kept easy and light. In truth, the morning by himself had left him calmer than the night before, but he still needed to watch himself. He looked up again when Lemurrin sat down across from them and gave him a small smile in greeting. "It's dinner time, Lemurrin. Sleeping all day?"

Lemurrin blinked. "Oh. So it is!" He rubbed his eyes again and took another drink. "Well, so much for my internal clock..." He looked around, then wandered off to gather a plate of food for himself.

Kirana smiled in greeting to Lemurrin before furrowing her brow. Him being here made it much more difficult for her to ask T'bell what she wanted to. How much did Lemurrin know, anyway?

She gently rubbed T'bell's back, almost absentmindedly, "How you doing, Lemurrin?"

"Absent minded...I think he's still waking up." T'bell commented with amusement as Lemurrin wandered off before he turned back to his food. Ah, food always calmed him down nicely...a comfort thing. Liliath was hungry too, if asleep, he could feel it. Of course she would be.
