Chloe getting better? Nah. I think the best she ever did was in Thrist where she got into the Daily Planet and let's just say that that episode sucked... no pun intended.
Ever since then she has been losing a lot of steam. I mean after what three seasons she hasn't moved her desk anywhere near ground level. Lois got more stories writing a tabloid than Chloe did in her three year stay. I see that she is looking out for Clark but come on, she has to make something of herself and she's just known as Clark's sidekick now. She needs to stop being Robin and become Nightwing already.

Chloe just doesn't self-improve: even when she was actively chasing stories, she dismissed or ignored any criticism (Perry's criticism of her tabloid-esque, exploitative style as just one example) and carried on doing things the way she wanted to.
Back in the day, I thought this was all part of a growth arc for her character and that she would improve ethically and re: her attitude towards "meteor freaks" (without having to become one herself) -- but it never happened, because she feels she's already at the top of her game.
The fact that she isn't chasing stories now and is making Clark her priority comes from the same attitude.
And frankly that, combined with her condescending attitude towards journalism, towards her cousin who has nothing but good will and love for her, and towards her boyfriend is starting to grate on my nerves.
As for Chloe being sidelined to make way for Lois:
In "Kara" Lois made NUMEROUS comments about how she isn't and will never be as super-incredible as Chloe. She tried to pass her own story over to Chloe because she felt this way. But she's the one who's out there investigating.
In the same episode, we got the very heavy-handed line from Clark about how Chloe is more intelligent than two Kryptonians put together -- but apparently not clever enough to make the plot-worthy connection between the radio disturbance and Kara's ship which Clark made two seconds later.
Both Lois and Clark are very much sidelined to big up Chloe. Meanwhile, Chloe is being written in very much the same style as she always has been. Except for her attitude towards Lois. That's new as of season six.

LOL, I'm going to have to say that was funny. But in Chloe's defense I kinda like how her character is turning out. Since I won't be able to see a live action NightWing at all anymore Chloe Sullivan is as close to NightWing as I am going to get. I'd sooner compare her to NightWing then I would Robin granted they are the same character, but Robin was just stupid. NightWing was awesome. And Chloe is very awesome, it's to bad she won't get her own series when SmallVille ends. I'd kinda like to see a mystery series on Chloe Sullivan that'd be rather interesting.

I find it funny how everyone switched sides now. I mean before everyone loved Lana. Favorite character and everything. Now, everyone pretty much hates her. xd

Exactly what I mean, people have switched sides when it comes to Lana. But really, she hasn't turned into a b***h, you just couldn't see it before. wink

I like Chloe better then Lana because let's face it. Lana is the girl everyone hated in high school. The stuck up b**ch that seemed so sweet to the adults but was a snob to everyone else.

Um, project much?
Lana was depicted as being nice -- if a little self-centred -- in early seasons. She was never a snob to anybody.

She just seemed like a snob because she was popular and a cheerleader. She really wasn't that bad but she really is a beauty that belies a dark nature.

I never liked Lana. I was indifferent to her character in the earlier seasons, but now I'm just angry at her.
I thought Chloe was great in the earlier seasons. She stayed Clark's best friend without centering her world around him.
Now it just seems that she's done a 180 flip. What happened to the brilliant reporter we know? Now she's losing her job to a her less-experience cousin? sad And she lets a wonderful boyfriend go without so much as a more elaborated explanation.
