Yes, that's really sad and not correct from friends!
My sister had her 18th B-day in the last year and only three of her "friends" came to the party... (-_-)°
One of them said: "I have to got to a doctor at 6 o-clock"...
And she didn't say it a few days before, no, she said it on the same day...
Maybe it was really a mistake, but... this "friend" has never replied again...
Good friend, eh?! stare

It's sad, that such things happen!! scream
I hope the next B-day of yours will be super and you'll get presents and a kiss from your friends!! xD

It's not at all selfish to want human comfort. I'm halfway through my undergrad and I know what it's like to be alone. Of course, I've made a lot of friends at my university and I can see them whenever I want, but it's different. I've turned from social butterfly to loner.

I mean, I'm so sure some of my close friends that I want to see on my birthday wouldn't come down to see me, but I've kinda moved on. In this weird, sad, twisted way. On my birthday in August it was still vacation and four people came to my party.

The previous two years I had over one hundred people combined.

My guess is, things change.

That's right! Now the career and the own life is the ones you need! Not friends, which you can call, if you want to talk to them... 3nodding
It is maybe a bit egoist, but it's unfortunately the only way to create it!
If you have done it, you can look for friends... I don't like the rules in the human life... stare
