The young stallion would have prefered to stay and perhaps teach the colt a few more things but he could sense his sister's pain and knew that she wanted to leave as soon as possible. In any case there was nothing that the two of them could do for the young colt or the slaves of his herd. Even if they tried it would be like trying to reverse the flow of a river. It just wasn't going to happen. Not easily. Perhaps with time and generations down the line someone might stand up for their rights and perhaps one day the slaves would be freed. For now though this was the cruel reality of the world they lived in.
"Little one," Udi started. He wasn't too bad at on the spot exscuses but he wasn't the best either. "we have traveled half the day and if we do not continue on we will not reach our family by sunset as we had intended. We do not wish to leave on such an uncomfortable note but it seems that there is no avoiding it." The purple Jala did feel bad for leaving but perhaps it was better for them all if they left now before things got out of hand.

Dahak looked up at the sky and frowned slightly. "Ah, you're right, it's later than I thought. Should be going myself soon... Still, it was nice to meet you both." Ech, useful rather than nice; now he knew that even Jala could be utter idiots. He did need to get back though, and he needed to think of a way to explain the cut on his leg. He was an agile boy not prone to stumbles or slips and his family knew that; he'd have to come up with something really good.
Thank Gods for Udi's moments of brilliance. Aquila smiled, hoping it didn't look too strained, and nodded. "Yea, we'd better be headed off... So... Maybe we'll see you around sometime?" She hoped not.
Dahak returned the smile, noting how stiff the mare's had been but choosing not to mention it. "Yes," he responded, "perhaps." He certainly hoped not; damn fools.
Aquila gave another nod and, glancing at her brother, turned away from the three-coloured colt. "Goodbye then," he called over her shoulder as casually as she could manage. Then, "race you Udi!" So saying, the short-maned mare sprung away, eyes trained carefully on the ground for anything that might try to trip her; she didn't have time for her clumsiness today.

Without looking back at the strange colt Udi cantered forward to meet her sister's challenge. Knowing that he was slightly faster than her he kept at a fast canter so as not to surpass her and still manage to keep her company as they ran. Running felt wonderful after the stress of their encounter, however it still couldn't keep his thoughts off of the colt. Sure he was just a foal know who 'didn't know any better' but what about when he grew up? Udi hoped that he would change his ways but knew well enough that it wouldn't happen. Also with this magic of his he seriously hoped that they hadn't made an enemy of the foal. If so it could mean some trouble in the future.
He then turned to his sister to study her face. He wasn't sure what she was thinking or even if she was thinking at all. Then again it was sometimes rather hard for Udi to read his sister. Though he probably knew her better then Etain. Letting out a little sigh he pushed himself into a slow gallop to raise the challenge for her a little. He wanted to get both of their minds off of the foal and onto something else.

Indeed, Aquila had been striving not to think and she was glad when Udi stretched his longer legs to push her into greater effort. The more she had to focus on pushing her muscles into greater effort the easier it was to push aside thoughts of the Katilenuck. Giving her gold-tailed sibling a grateful smile, Aquila raced onward and strove to put the harsh realites represented by the small magic foal behind her.
Dahak watched them go for a few moment, giving a sigh of relief as they were swallowed by the trees. Thanks to that pair he hadn't got anywhere near as much practice in as he would have liked, hadn't even had time to work out what had gone wrong with his spell to make it unravel.
Sighing deeply the tri-coloured colt turned about and set off for his tree at an easy trot, his mind searching franticly for a way to explain the injury to his leg.
