Pendari made note of "Johnny Ray's" brief attention to her, but she paid it no heed. She assumed he was hired muscle. They were paid to keep an eye on the bar. She glanced his way once, and held back the temptation to give him a threatening smile. Less attention was better.

Eulalia Danae "So you'd advise me to let a prisoner have access to his gun and gear?" Syx chuckled, and shook her head a moment. "A week ago, I would have flat out said no. So how do I know I can trust you? You could turn on me at the last minute, with your gun, and even if you got the ship out of lockdown, what will make you turn it over to me?" "If I wanted to turn on you, I'd blow your cover now and steal your card while they killed you." Jarred shrugged. "But I'm a nice guy. I'm not a cold-blooded killer like some of these folks." He smiled. "I was just gonna get bailed out anyways. I've got no reason to want this uprising."

"If you tried to blow my cover, I'd shoot you before the words came out of your mouth." Syx thought about it for a moment then gave a nod. "I'll help you get your stuff. But that doesn't mean I trust you. And the moment this is over, you're going back into your cell."
The com at her belt beeped, and she sighed. "Sam's waiting for me. I have to head out for now, we can get your stuff later."

Eulalia Danae "If you tried to blow my cover, I'd shoot you before the words came out of your mouth." Syx thought about it for a moment then gave a nod. "I'll help you get your stuff. But that doesn't mean I trust you. And the moment this is over, you're going back into your cell." The com at her belt beeped, and she sighed. "Sam's waiting for me. I have to head out for now, we can get your stuff later." "Let's grab my stuff on the way. Don't know what's in the halls." Jarred whispered, finishing his drink quickly. "I might have to be at the control room to fix it."

Syx gave a slight shrug. "Fine, but remember, I'm still watching you." Syx gave the bartender a cheeky wave, and turned to walk through the crowd. "Sam is going to be so pissed," She muttered under her breath.

"Sam is going to be so pissed," She muttered under her breath. "You can check my file when we get there. My name's Jarred, I'm just a guy who got bored and caught." Jarred stood up, walking next to her, shifting his vest.

Pendari bristled as Jarred began to move with Syx. She sighed and stood up, deciding to interfere if at all possible. "Shanra!" She called out, "Shanra, is that you?" She walked towards them, a friendly smile on her face. "It's been a while, hasn't it."

"I'll be sure to do so." Syx said, but stopped as the stranger approached them. She gave Pendari a quick look, but couldn't place her. She made a note to start making a list of the prisoners and to check it frequently. "You catch up, seriously, I have to stop by with Sam. It won't take more than a minute."

"Pendari? What are you doing here?" Jarred was bewildered as he saw Pendari walk towards them.
"Ah, wait, this will only be a sec..." Jarred said to Syx, turning to Pendari. "Why are you on a little vessle like this? Aren't you more for grandeur?"

"A second? You'll brush me off so easily?" Pendari chuckled. "It's an odd story actually. One of my associates was placed inside the prison. The company, of course, is quite concerned when one of our own is put into this situation. He was wrongfully accused, of course. I was sent to escort him, and make sure things went well. He was killed in the raid, unfortunately."

Syx sighed, tapping her foot in slight impatience. "I could have met up with Sam and been done with the update by now." She gave Pendari a cold look at the mention of a company, chills moving down her back. She hid her reaction quickly.

A.C. was in the rec, not the bar, and she was shooting pool with the only other teenagers on the ship. The older was a nasty-tempered hacker just old enough to go to jail instead of juvy after his last heist, and the younger was a lean-muscled runaway who'd been having second thoughts even before the raid. Both had made her prove herself with a fight, but they'd stopped even questioning her age days ago.
"Hack-o, you're a crap shot," she teased. "Let Jeffy play."
He tried to growl, but it was whiny. "Don't call me Hack-o! You want me to get caught again?"
"Pft. Like the Marshal cares about a crap shot kid who can't break into the High Street without tripping the Wire--"
"It was a new system--!"
"--when she's got murderers and rapists loose."
There was silence for a while as that sunk in, broken only by the sounds of padded aluminum rods striking steel billard balls.

"Sorry Pen, I'm not trying to put you off, but I need to go get my stuff. She's gonna help me break into the room holding it, but we can head back up here after. I think I can get this ship out of lockdown." Jarred kept his voice down as he said the last bit, so only the three could head. "I've got my ship in the belly, we all can prolly get out if things go south."

Shanra? No, it couldn't be. The man was the wrong height, and more importantly, not green. Still, he shifted uncomfortably. Those burns had taken a long time to heal... Turning his attention back to the conversation (without appearing to - an old skill), he noted that Pendari had been his target's contact. Good thing he had killed the man after learning what he knew...

Pendari's friendly smile floated away to a serious face. She took a step closer to Jarred, her voice low, so Syx couldn't pick it up. "Get your ship, and get out of here as fast as you can. Something is going on here, and it's big. Find me if you need help." She stepped away from him and moved back into the crowd. A small orb floated from her pocket, no larger than a small apple. She glanced at it. "Tell Sam two will be coming. Continue with the plan for the first, stun the second, but kill if necessary."
