The yellow spotted girl was new. Not that new people made him uncomfortable, quite the opposite, if Antony hadn't had enough time with her this might be just another opportunity to try and embarrasses him in front of other people!
Thankfully, however, Harper was far too preoccupied with acting too-cool for life as he got close enough to yell at the other kids.
"YO. ANTONY. How you doin' sweetie-pie?" He asked in his condescending tone, discovering from his mother calling people petnames when you obviously hated them usually produced a great deal of ...animosity. He dropped the handle to the wagon and walked around the other end of the cabbage, using it as a shield between him and the other older boy.
That's when he spotted Carlisle, and with a rigorous wave grinned, "Hey little dude! And new chick - oh look. Another girl with a tail. Hel~lo!"

Antony fell forward at the name, earning a face full of snow in his shock. He didn't even notice it, because when the shock wore off, red hot rage raced through him.
It made him smile as he turned to the other boy. "Harper, how nice to see you," he said, ever-so-sweetly. "But really, how many times must I tell you I just don't feel the same way about you?"

Carlisle looked at Harper, then Antony, then back again to Harper. He repeated this several times. Mama called him sweetie-pie all the time, mostly when he was being good. But the blue boy didn't seem happy about it, even falling itno the snow! What a weirdo. "Hi Harper," he decided to shriek instead. "Build snowcastle with me!"
Enthusiastically, he began to dig out the moat with Jahzara.

Jahzara stared a little more. Another girl with a tail? It was a good thing she hadn't been around long enough to think that the statement may have been derogatory or otherwise meant with a lack of enthusiasm. As it was, the cat-girl's tail was curled happily, a deep purr starting. It wasn't loud yet, not when her hands were still immersed in COLD, no amount of ego-inflation could make her purr when COLD.
"Hi~lo!" she quipped back to the boy, turning her orange gaze back to Antony. "You join us too, Antony," she invited him kindly, as Carlisle had invited the other that they were calling 'Harper.' The girl quickly got caught up in the younger boy's digging, happily sharing his enthusiasm as they dug.

((harper has had far too much sugar, isorry Dx))
Harper mocked a sigh, "What can I say Antie, your baby blue hair reminds me of a my little pony. CUDDLE POWER, GO!" He said, pointing accusingly at the other boy before flopping down next to Carlisle. "Ice castle? Don't that require like. Ice? Cause all I see is snow.. sooo.."
"Whats your name?" He asked Jahzara happily a moment later ,tapping Carlisle's head. "Carlisle." He reminded himself happily. "See my cabbage? They thought I was real 'mature' so's they gave me one of my own."

"Snowcastle," Carlisle said with an extra dose of duuuh. "Ice is slippy. Much slippy." He chortled loudly, patting down the sides of the castle again in a brief lull between moat-digging sessions. Moat building was hard work, so he had to take a break sometimes.
He regarded the cabbage while attempting to eat a mouthful of snow. "Cabbage?" That was a vegetable. How weird was it that people- wow, that cabbage looked green... "Magical cabbage," he screeched, jumping all over his section of the moat.

Antony blinked, ignoring the screaming boy as he looked at the cabbage with Harper. "I feel sorry for it," he said before going back to patting the snow into a form that (shockingly) was starting to resemble an actual castle. He had even found a stick to detail the bricks with!
"No doubt the poor thing will come out heavily damaged from being dropped on its head."

"Jahzara," the girl replied before the three went off on their own tangent. It was obvious the three had met and were some strange type of friends. Zara carefully compacted the moat, even fashioning a few snow-pillars to support a bridge, which she placed with a leaf and two sticks.

"That must be what happened to you, Antony." Harper said happily, staring at the ice-thing the other two kids were making. "Whats with the trench thing? Oooh, a moat... made out.. of snow. Don't moats usually have water or somethin in em though? Jahzara, huh? Jahzara Jahzara Jasharrah Zesharra.." He blinked. Nope, coulden't say it five times fast. " It kinda just like a canyon, now." He gestured back to the moat. Then on to funner things; "Antony!! Is that a zit on your nose!?!"
He pointed at the cabbage a moment later, behind him without looking to where he was pointing. A very military-esque occupational hazard gesture. "It's named Bishop." He recanted, duty done. He'd introduced the vegetable to other kids, it had 'friends' now, he'd get payed and all was well.

He sighed and redug his section of the trench. "Bissop," Carlisle said, waving. "Hi Bissop!" Then he smiled up at Harper and parroted, "Zit on your nose!" But what was a zit? Good question, one to ask Mama later. If he remembered, because sometimes he didn't. "Dig moat with us!" He smoothed the side of a trench and looked pointedly at Harper.

Antony ran a hand over his face, wiping the snow off and being secretly grateful that he was flushed from the cold. There was no point in talking to Harper, he decided, turning to Jahzara with a smile. "So are you going to Liberty?" he asked. "You would be in my class."

It was hard for the cat-girl not to stare at Harper as he went on his tirade. She partially understood what her father meant by being ADD when he yelled at her for going from drawing to springing into the air to catch a fly. It seemed Harper's way of speaking followed much of the same suit!
Jahzara blinked her wide eyes, hands immersed in snow as she looked back to Antony. "Uh. Liberty? A school?" She lifted one hand to scratch her cheek in thought, nearly leaping backwards as the coldness of her numb hand came in contact with her flushed cheek. Yikes, that smarted! Shaking her hand in short bursts - not unlike a cat who has stepped in something wet - she replied in a curious tone, "I dunno. Dad hasn't said anything about it, but...I haven't been this big very long."

"Yeah yeah fine, moat." Harper said, digging into the snow, tossing it 'accidentally' toward Antony's person. "Don't go! It's evil! SCHOOL is EVIL but especially THAT school!" He told the cat girl dramatically and abruptly, looking at her with an intense seriousness unbecoming of the boy. Then he let out a slow breath, "Trust me."

"Mama goes school," Carlisle said. "Her are okay and not evil." He smiled and drew something like a flower (or a demented cloud) in the bottom of the moat. Then he moved on to making thicker walls.

"And how many schools have you been to, Harper?" Antony asked, wiping the snow away and slowly burying his hand in the snow next to him. It looked as if he was going to add it to the castle, but instead his hand twitched and it hit Harper in the face.
"Whoops."
