I have a question and I'm not sure if this is a RPGMaker problem of my friends computer display problem.
I got a demo out.
For one friend - the game screen display looks way too vertical, squishy like.
For another friend- The game screen display only the top HALF of the game while the other half is black.
For the third friend- Game display perfectly fine.
When I play my own game, it works just fine for me too. Both within RPGMaker test and .exe
So. . just what is going on?

Well..assuming you distributed the same file to all 3 of your friends, then it's a resolution or display problem.

Hey everyone. I've read through the Help section of RPGM 2k, but it doesn't help with this. I'm trying to figure out how to make auto-start events and have them end. It doesn't seem like there's any event menu option for it. I'd like to have an opening cutscene, but it isn't working out too well for me. Can anyone help?

When you want the event to end, open a switch and make a new page with absolutely nothing on it. Make it "On Action Key" or something and have this only happen when the switch is on. Does that help? Now, I have a problem of my own. I'd like to know how people get demos of their games up as it's always been something I can't do.

Well..first of all, compact your data, which there should be an option for when you have your game opened up in RPG Maker. And then host that on a file sharing site

Amber Skyes Well, I don't care if they do or not, because it won't matter. It's a problem-solving game.
I just want to remove everything battle-related from the main menu so that people won't be confused by them.
I'd also like to change the look of it, to match the theme. biggrin Here's how you remove the menu completely: 1. Create an event on the starting map. 2. Set the trigger to Autorun. 3. In the event commands: a. Change Menu Access (1st tab, second up on the bottom right) to Disable b. Turn on a switch 4. Create another page for the event. 5. Set the conditions of the second page to Switch (Steb 3b) is On. 6. Set the trigger of the second page to Action Button. 7. Leave the event command menu blank for the second page. This will prevent the player from accessing the menu. This will also disable the use of items and such, but there are ways to work around it. For example, you can use conditional events based on items that the party has or create events for healing and such if you're going to use damage. If you have any other questions, you can ask me. I'm a bit of an event expert. If you want to change the menu without disabling it, you'll need to find someone who's familiar with the scripts.

I've been trying to get the names entered through events to appear. In the help section, it says to use /n[n], but I can't get it to work for me.

hey im gonna ask for some help if anyone wants to but if not okay i need help making sprites for the kray game im making but here is the deal spriteing is no prob for me.... except in this case i need to do lots before summer ends <(>.<)> im planning on finishing this game before winter i can make midis and everything i just need spriteing done while doing so

dark_angel_damian2 hey im gonna ask for some help if anyone wants to but if not okay i need help making sprites for the kray game im making but here is the deal spriteing is no prob for me.... except in this case i need to do lots before summer ends <(>.<)> im planning on finishing this game before winter i can make midis and everything i just need spriteing done while doing so
Camila Espia is good with pixel type stuff, you could send her a message and ask nicely for some help. I don't think she checks back here very often since it's fairly dead...so asking for her help here would be pointless right now.
As another suggestion, if you're on any of the RPG Maker forums, maybe someone on one of them might be willing to help too. smile

Out of curiosity, does anyone know of a script, or a script modification, that will make it so common events will run while you're in battle and/or while in the menu?
Also, does anyone know of a script/modification that allows for mid-battle equip changing in the default battle system?
