Eh, I guess I should post what fanboys I hate the most.

The Fallout Fanboys.

There righteous hate for Fallout 3 annoys me to a point where I'd love to shove a copy of Brotherhood Of Steel down there throats. The game looks great, yet just because it's third person instead iso, it AUTOMATICALLY sucks.

The game isn't near completion, nor has that much information been released on it, and yet, every one who heard the name Fallout automatically damns the game to the bowels of Cthulhu.

When they find out the game is awesome on a stick, I'll be there to drag their rotten corpses to hell.

I hate Kingdom Hearts Fanpeople. They are annoying, they don't know that there were some other games that used the same formula, plus they don't know about good character development. I hate the fact that they think they can get away from anything because it sells games and systems. Kingdom Hearts is an overrated series with nothing new to offer.

Halo fanboys are annoying because they turn the game into almost a pseudo-religion. The level of obsession and praise, backed by dropping obscene amounts of money on anything Halo-related, borders heavily on "worship." IRRITATING! Especially when you consider that not only is Halo NOT the Greatest Game Evar, it's not even the Greatest FPS Evar.

Final Fantasy VII fanboys are annoying because they downplay the quality of all the other FFs. Hate to break it to you guys, but most FFs after VII are just as good, and Tactics is even better IMO. Not to mention that alot of the FFVII fanboys don't really even play RPGs, and so are ignorant of other great series, like Star Ocean and Fire Emblem.

Ocarina of Time fanboys are annoying for two reasons: 1) The same reason FFVII fanboys are annoying. Again, Majora's Mask is JUST as good! 2) OoT fanboys seem to consist of the majority of all cognizant human beings. Anytime there is a "Greatest Games Of All Time" list ANYWHERE written by ANYONE, Ocarina of Time is somewhere in the top 5. And before you ask, no I would not put Ocarina of Time anywhere in my Top 50. I've never finished it because it always bores me to tears. Yes, I know I'm in the minority and I know that it's not because it's a bad game. It's just my own personal issues.

I don't mind fan fiction if they keep all the details/facts in order. There's nothing worse than reading that long-time-hateful rivals are now a gay couple.
I think I'm going to go to you when I need to express something without ranting.

huh?

After looking at these ratings for those three games I wouldn't consider any of them underrated. A game with those scores aren't. You should give them more credit than that. mrgreen

I know they got high ratings, they were good games.

I was referring to the general FF fanbase, and how they took it.

Kinda like how every single Zelda game got high ratings/is good, but 90% of Zelda fans would be like "OMFG111 WINDWAKER SUX11"

I was thinking about getting into Star Wars Fanfiction but I have no clue where to start as there's so many...

Fanfiction.net is a site where people can write fan fiction and put it online. The Star War books are written by mega-geeks and are cannon/approved by George Lucus.

Well, I hate them all, but FF fanboys annoy me the most. It is complete J-trash, and it's only popular because of this recent Japanese obsession time period America is going through right now. Notice how about 15 years ago, in the SNES days, people weren't this obsessed with the series? Now, all because FF7 had its good-looking cutscenes and Star Wars rip-off sword fights, everyone's obsessed. Now, every time a "new" game comes out (despite the fact that THEY'RE ALL THE SAME), people wet themselves with excitement. Why everyone is this obsessed with Final Fantasy is something that I don't expect an answer for even years from now. It's just a wierd modern phenomenon that will never be explained; similar to spontaneous combustion, or stigmata.

It's not J-trash. They're awesome RPG's that add so much to the genre.

FF isn't popular because it's from Japan. It's popular because they offer a solid RPG experience. In the SNES days, they were more cult classics, and nowadays, RPGs in general have become more mainstream, and FF moved along with it. It's a "trend" to hate FF. Hating a series for being good is lame.

Funny how Mario, Zelda, Halo, and any other franchise you can name "gets better with each game" or gets praise for "sticking to the formula". FF does the same thing every other series/franchise does, yet it's "J-Trash" and "Overrated".

FFVII got undeserved attention. The whole series doesn't need to be discriminated against for it. Star-Wars rip off? Please, Star Wars got 99.9% of its material/plot/story from other s**t. Games use outsides stories/inspirations all the time, don't blame any one game.

FF games have similar plots/archetypes, but so what? Take Zelda. No one talks s**t on that. Zelda games are more closely related than FF games. No one bitched when they had to fight Ganon the same way in 10 different games. No one bitched when they had to fight Vaati the same way in 4 different games. No one bitched when they realized they bought OoT, thinking it was a new game, only to play it and find out it's a reincarnated LTTP....

Zombicide, get the ******** off your high horse.

Jump off the "Hey, let's hate FF for a lame reason" bandwagon's d**k.

I really don't like Halo fanboys. The average Halo fanboy WILL NOT LISTEN TO REASON. He'll just coninue to post about how supposedly awesome Halo is and how anything else brought into a conversation apparently fails.

Funny, sounds a lot like you with Sonic...

DAMN, you replied fast. Let me make this clear. I do not blindly love all Sonic games. Even the first two games were bland to me. The first had no Super Sonic, and was slow, the next made it overly hard to get all emeralds in a manner that letted you enjoy them, and the final boss had a severe lack of rings. I did not like advance titles. They made simple actions overly complicated and uninspired stages. I loved the SA titles because they had chaos, excellent music, and were a very enthralling experience for me. I liked spinball because it was an engaging score-crunching and survivalist game. Shadow appealed to me because it had many stages and missions and lasted a long time. (I am was also a kickass song imo) Heroes was fast-paced and fun, although overdone at times and featured two completely generic teams and was a huge copy and paste job. Are we cool now or what?

Actually, the answer is pretty simple. People are "obsessed" over this series for the same reason that so many people love Halo, MGS, and Zelda: because they're good video games.

Not to mention that if you take your post and replace the words "Final Fantasy" with "Halo" or "MGS" or "Zelda", the argument still works and sounds like the exact same thing alot of biased haters post on the internet....

"Well, I hate them all, but (Halo)(Zelda)(Metal Gear) fanboys annoy me the most. It is complete (insult), and it's only popular because of (lame, nonsensical reason). Notice how about (number) years ago people weren't this obsessed with the series? Now, all because (Halo 2)(LttP)(MGS) had its (online multiplayer)(open world)(movie-quality story and dialogue), everyone's obsessed. Now, every time a "new" game comes out (despite the fact that THEY'RE ALL THE SAME), people wet themselves with excitement. Why everyone is this obsessed with (Halo)(Zelda)(Metal Gear) is something that I don't expect an answer for even years from now. See how that works? Uncanny, I know.
