Shadi ran a little ways behind Vasu, falling behind a bit as he picked up his speed. Though he had reassured her that everything was fine she could tell that something she had made him pick up his pace a bit. She continued to worry a bit as she ran behind Vasu.
Shadi slowed down when she saw her family not far away. She smiled when she saw that her whole family had reunited. It wasn't just her parents but it looked like her other brother Yiska was there too! "Mom! Dad! And Yiska!" She said happily as she rushed over to them all. She was very relieved to see that everyone seemed to be okay.
Being that she arrive a short time after Vasu she look around at all of her families faces and wondered what her brothers looked so surprised. She herself had not notice the little baskets yet by her mother's legs. "What is going on.." She began to ask but stopped when she too finally saw the two little baskets. Her eyes grew in size and her mouth opened slightly. Questions began to run through her mind. When? What didn't she know sooner? Shadi now understood what it was her brothers were surprised about, and what a big surprise it was indeed. Shadi did not know what to say.

"Uhhh.....wow." is all that came to mind for Vasu. He stood in awe, watching as his brother moved in to check them out. He couldn't help but wonder why there was only two. He didn't know anything about basket numbers, and didn't ask. One hoove moved forward, followed by another. That was as close as he got, standing off, watching.
Hok'ee tossed a muzzle at Chu, then moved towards the baskets, bumping Yiska playfully out the way. "Mmmhmmhmhm. Hello little fella. A light, muffled chuckle pressed at his lips as he reached in towards the emerging foal. Hok'ee gingerly touched the nose that stuck out from the baskets lid.
The tiny foal rustled as he felt a vibration upon his basket. Yes, it was his mothers touch, he realized after her soft voice whispered to him. It eased his worrys a little, but he still wasn't sure what was going on.

Grunting a bit as his father bumped him, Yiska backed off a few paces. Giving the now bustling baskets their space. He moved towards the edge of the clearing, standing still. Waiting and watching as one of the foals stuck it's nose out.
So this was what all the hub bub about baskets was all about. Certainly his first time ever seeing this, and it was a peculiar sight indeed.
Another little whinny came from the filly as she felt the warm touch against her muzzle. Pushing her body upwards again, she popped the top right off. Big blue eyes gazing about at the gaggle of bodies around her. A short little black and white mane ruffled in a tiny breeze as she poked her head around. Bright green markings on her face stood out like a soar thumb against her black dappled face.
Trying to stand was the next challenge. She lifted her body slightly, trying to gain some footing. But being in that basket for so long left her extremely wobbly which sent her tumbling out of the basket. Whinnying loudly as she landed hard on her side.
Chu's attention had turned to Shadi. Her daughter was here too? Good. She was certainly glad to see her.
Her ears pricked at the loud whinnies and her attention turned back to the foal who had just emerged. An early starter it seemed. Moving towards the baby, she leaned her head down. Giving her tiny body a few good look overs, nuzzles and licks before shooting a glance towards Hok'ee. "Not a fella. Its a girl." She giggled lightly. Another daughter. Chu had at least hoped one was to be a girl.

His tail flicked once to the side as he realized that it was indeed, a filly. "Heh, a most beautiful filly." He winked at Chu'mana, nipping at her cheek lovingly. A wide grin touched at Hok'ees face as the foal tried to stand. "Such a trooper. You'll just have to try again." he assured the little foal.
Vasu zombied over to Yiskas side. His eyes were white, and his mouth shut. It was something else. He couldn't help but wonder when he would get a chance to have baskets himself...
Hok'ee looked back towards Yiska, Vasu, and Shadi. "Look! You have a baby sister!" he exclaimed with great pride in his voice.

Smiling at her mate, she nodded. "Yes. Very beautiful." Using her nose, she nudged at the fillie's rump. Urging her to try and stand once more. As soon as the foals were able to walk, she'd be able to move them to a more enclosed area to keep them from freezing.
Her eyes darted over to her two sons standing next to each other. Both seemed to be in a bit of shock from the whole experience which made her giggle on the inside. But soon her attention was back to the filly and the other foal who had yet to emerge. "This one might be a late bloomer." Stretching out her neck a bit, she examined the basket carefully before lipping at its woven lip. "Come on now. Everyone is waiting for you."
Yiska hadn't even noticed just yet that Vasu had moved to stand with him. His attention was snared by the little filly who had just popped out of the basket. The young stallion barely remembered his own experience with getting out of his own basket so long ago.
But soon he glanced over at his brother. Who, to him, looked like he was about to faint. With that expression on his face. Yiska himself had always wondered occasionally what it would be like to watch foals of his own emerge from baskets. And by watching his parents reactions, it seemed to be one of the most wonderful things to do. As his father spoke, he nodded lightly. His attention turning to the second basket curiously.
The little filly whinnied some more, flicking her short little tail back and forth quickly. She sure liked being vocal. All the large bodies around her were a little nerve racking, but she soon calmed down from the affectionate touch of her mother. Rubbing her forehead against the older mare's leg and taking in her scent.
When her rump was nudge, she squeaked once more. Trying to scramble to her hooves once again. Shaky legs almost going out from under her but she caught herself. Straightening out those thin newborn legs and taking a few tentative steps towards Chu'mana until she was leaning up against her leg. Her head turning about as she looked at each Soquili around her with an air of curiosity in her eyes. She knew who her mama was, but who were these other ones?

"Mhmhmmhmhm." came another muffled chuckle from Hok'ee. Watching Chu love on the foal was what made this all worth it. He couldn't imagine having any other mare for a mate. Chu was perfect, in everything she did. He began to glow, feeling he could almost explode as the little filly began to stumble about, leaning on Chu for support.
Inside the black basket, the little colt was still unsure about what was going on. He couldn't help but wonder what exactly they were waiting on. Were they waiting on him? Was he supposed to do something? Here in this dark nest, there wasn't much of anything he could do. Did this mean he had to do something...outside of it? A small bri noise chattered from his lips, still inside the basket.
Hok'ee, turned his attention onto the still basketed foal. Pushing his lips together, in disaproval, he nudged the baskets lid with Chu. He had a mind to knock the lid off completely, but knew that was too rough.
During all this, Vasu had looked once at Yiska, and then mosied over to where his parents stood huddled over the second basket. He leaned in, looking once to his mother, then father for an approving eye. He joined them, whispering to the basket. "C'mon little one, show us what you got." He didn't touch the basket, but was close enough that the hairs on his lips were tickled.
Where had all these new voices come from? They were all so close. He listened, and felt another nudge on the basket, this time, not his mothers. Yes, he was scared. When another soothing voice spoke, he realized that none of these voices sounded like they wanted to hurt him. In a fit, he busted through his basket, popping hooves out through it's weave.
Vasu pulled away, eyes wide. He had almost caught a mouth full of hoof!

Giving a little alert whinny of surprise, the little filly watched as the other basket sprouted legs. What was that?! It almost looked like...well. She wasn't sure what it looked like. But it sure did look weird!
Nibbling on the soft hairs that covered her mother's leg, she watched it out of the corner of an eye. Her ears perked as she listened to all the voice. The approach of another stallion caused her to move a little more underneath her mama's belly. Still nibbling softly on her leg like a pacifier.
Chu watched Vasu quietly, nodding her head gently as he moved closer to the basket. She herself had lifted her head now, giving the foal some space for it to emerge.
As the gaggle of legs burst through the basket's weaving and nearly kicking her older son in the face, she let loose a small burst of giggles with a shake of her head. "Careful, Vasu. This one seems to be a bit wryly." With another few giggles, she leaned her head down once more and nibbled softly on the scrawny legs. "Almost there."
Yiska just watched. Not having moved from his spot. Vasu might of been more curious than he'd thought. Even if he himself was curious, he wasn't yet ready to approach the newly 'hatched' foals.
He watched the filly casually as she pacified herself with nibbling on his mother's leg. Did he used to act like that?

((I'm so switching Vasu's rp color again, after this rp. Darkseagreen is fitting for Vasu's color markings. In return, I'll give forestgreen to Chidi. *mental note* So it doesn't get confusing when I do. Lol, so many green fonts floating about.))
He wasn't quite clear yet. Waiting but a second, for approval of his action, he continuted to emerge, rolling out the basket, in a tumble to the snow. "E-haa!" came the cutest little sound from his mouth as he smiled up at his mother, the first soquili he saw. He then looked quizzically at the other strange faces nearby.
"That's the spirit!" Hok'ee called to the little foal. "Ah-ha-ha!" He tossed his head back with a hearty chuckle. The little one tumbled on the ground, and then gave him the oddest of looks. He leaned in to the foal, and licked at he ear. "Daddy." he said briefly, turning towards the filly to say it again. "I'm your daddy." he said peering into her eyes then up at Chu'mana. He was about to say, that he was her daddy too, but didn't. It might of been funny, but it wasn't needed. He only grinned at Chu'mana, nuzzling his face against hers in a long stroke.
Vasu's tail was whipping around. He still felt so strange about the whole thing, but was more at ease now. How could he not be? It was a magical moment to watch two little lives, join their family. He shook his head, the shock fading from his eyes. "Just...wow." Had the foal clipped him with a hoof, he probably wouldn't of even felt it.

She couldn't help but be amused by the larger male's antics. Leaning her head back like his, she lifted her nose into the air. "Ah-awa-hwa!" Her ears pricked up once more as she quickly looked up at her mama then back to the stallion. Daddy? Ohhhh, well she supposed that made more sense.
Looking over at Vasu with those big blue eyes, she tilted her head just slightly. "Dahdeh?" She wasn't too sure what to call this one. But, he was male. And the other one was male as well, so....she kind of put two and two together. Almost.
She let out a few more giggles. Her children, were just TOO cute. It filled her heart to the brim and spilled over with pride. If horses could pinch cheeks she probably would of done it.
The mare nibbled a bit on her mate's mane as she rubbed her face against his. She just didn't have any words right now that could describe the utter feeling she had. So many emotions at once. Pride, joy, amazement. They were almost over whelming. "One boy and one girl." Turning her head just a bit, she looked at Yiska. "Come meet your baby siblings."
His ears perked at his mother's words, but he did as he said. Still not sure how to handle it. He'd never been around new born foals so...
As he got close, he leaned his head down towards Chu's belly. Giving the little filly a little look over. Mussing her little mane with warm breaths that made her giggle lightly. It was such an innocent laugh. And though it seemed kind of morbid, he knew that innocence wouldn't last long. There was a lot of evil and dangerous things in the world. Perhaps, he could protect her from that as long as she's a foal. He had had enough experiences with it himself. Yiska didn't want his baby sister to experience any of those things.

Hok'ee looked over towards his new little girl, winking one eye at her as she tried to copy him. "That's right, daddy's little girl." he assured her, even if she hadn't quite said the word yet. In time, she would say it.....and she did, at Vasu. Vasu shook his head violently. "No-no-no, I'm your big brother." he said with a goofy grin, smiling down at the filly. The winter white that covered the ground, was unforgiving. The other small colt realized, that it was really uncomfortable! His basket hadn't been as warm as his mothers womb, but it was still cozy. This! This was downright freezing to him! His little bone white teeth, began to chatter. The noise, was found hilarious to him. Inbetween chatters, the dark foal laughed. It was a most interesting noise. Hok'ee lifted an eyebrow, smirking down at his new son. "I think I have a name for this chittering one." he said, chest puffing up with pride at the gift of giving a name. He looked to Chu'mana, eyes glazed in a natural high. "Chidi." he uttered the name to her first, turning to the foal after he said it. "That's your name little fellah, Chidi."Chi-di. With another set of chattery chuckles, the foal scrambled to his feet. He stood there in a fit of shivers, legs spread apart, barely holding his balance. Vasu went to aid his little brother, but only moved a hoof before he saw that his dad was already doing what he instinctively was about to do. A warm feeling pulled at the back of his mind. He wanted to know this first hand. It was amazing.

Her ears flicked back for just a second as she was corrected. The statement rolling through her newborn mind as she tried to put two and two together again. "Lihl gerl? Bih budder?" The filly giggled and pranced around a little, not too far away from her mother's side. Nearly falling over from her excitement.
The sound of chattering teeth caught her attention. Blue eyes glancing over at her basket mate, she let out another giggle. He was making a funny noise! But why?
Taking cautious steps towards her brother, she reached out her neck and gave him a few sniffs. Nothing...seemed out of the ordinary. Still, it was silly none the less.
Smiling as she watched her mate puff up with pride, Chu'mana couldn't help but giggle. He was so silly sometimes. But it was quite understandable in this situation. As he spoke the name, she nodded her head in agreement. It was a fine name indeed.
Lowering her head towards the giggly little filly, she nosed the babe's side softly. Her mind lingering upon different names she had picked out during her pregnancy. "Then this one will be Taipa." Eyes flashed to her mate for approval as she watched him help out Chidi. The ice and snow would not be kind to these foals. And it made her wish that they had been born in spring like the others, but she knew that she couldn't of prolonged it any longer.
After giving Taipa a few licks to her face to clean it, she lifted her head once more. High and proud as she watched her little and big babies. "We should probably move them soon. It will be too cold for them to be out here once nightfall comes."
Yiska took that as his cue to leave. Perhaps Vasu would stick around for a while longer, but he needed to get going. Too much he needed to do in prep for winter and he had a lot to think about.
Though leaving in silence, he nodded to each family member. Giving the foals one last look before he slipped off into the scraggly woods. The sound of his hoof falls getting lighter and lighter as he moved away.
He figured his parents would want some alone time now with their babies. And his mother spoke the truth really. Once night came it would be chilly as ever.

Hok'ee took in a deep breath, with a sound of contentment. "Taipa, what a beautiful name for a daughter from my beautiful mine." he said, winking at Chu as he did. "Chidi and Taipa." he repeated their new names, sent into the air with a stern tone. It was as if they were being set in stone by saying them in such a way. And really, they were. They were the names they would carry with them for life.
Chidi watched as the smaller of the group, bumbled his way. His face froze for a moment without chatter, before joy burst into his face. He shot his muzzle forward, lapping his tongue at her playfully as she sniffed him. He recognized something familiar about her, more than the other strangers. It was as if he knew, that she had shared all of this with him, beside him.
His dark black tail swished back and forth, beating Hok'ee lightly as he stood close. It tickled Hok'ee, making him laugh exuberently.
"Yes, let's move them away from the bitter cold." he agreed. Of course, it was cold everywhere, but some areas were less harsh than others. The open plains would surely harbor great winds. Winds that would bite at the foals with cruel intent, now that they were free from the shelter of their baskets.
Hok'ee looked on as Yiska left. His mind swirled with emotion. There, was one of his sons, once a foal himself, setting out on his own again. One day, the new foals would set off too. He knew it made Chu'mana ache and long, even more than himself. If only they could stay foals this time..if only.
Hok'ee nipped at the two kids, then moved slowly ahead a few steps, so that Chidi would stand on his own. He craned his neck down towards the foals, waiting for them to steady, before walking to shelter. He glanced up to Chu'mana, keeping an eye on her too. She had to be exhausted from protecting them for so long.
Vasu watched his brother leave, feeling that it was a hint at what his next actions should be. He said his goodbye's, loving on his new siblings, and congratulating his parents with a goofy grin spread across his face. He was so happy for them, especially his mom. She was such a wonderful mother, and now she could enjoy the early years once again.
Shadi might of been silent, as she watched on at the whole event, but Vasu guessed that she too, felt the way he and his brother did. Who would be the first of the three, to follow the footsteps of their parents? As he was walking away, he couldn't help but hang his head once out of sight of his parents. He was sure, he would be last, if at all, to sire foals.

Shadi stood there silently as she watched her parents interact with her new little siblings. She remebered when she was that little, when she had been her daddy's little princess. She was no longer the only daughter anymore, just as she was no longer a foal. A lot had change since the last Shadi had been with her family. Maybe it was time for grow up, that thought scared her a bit. She wasn't used to change all that much, but change is inevitable so she had to accept it.
Shadi shook her head lightly and focus again more on the two little foals that were taking their first steps right in front of her eyes. She slowly moved a little closer to them, though still giving them plently of space still not sure what to do around such young foals. She repeated the their names in her head. Chidi and Taipa.. Chidi and Taipa.. my new brother and sister.. She tried to let it all sink in.
