Nirami Kane gave a smallish yawn as he sat up on his bed, scratching the back of his head. He'd woken up a little later than usual, so he was soon up and moving about- getting dressed, brushing and pulling back his hair, and even making his bed. His room was rather clean and organized- save for a desk that had some disorganized papers strewn across it. It was his only means of organization for them, he'd deemed long before, so it was pointless to make them look nice.

Strapping the red-wooded Zanpakutou, Homura, to his side, Nir trailed to his door and stepped outside. The Opening Ceremonies were to start soon- he'd need to get there. Tying up his sleeves as he walked, the semi-tall male made his way to where the ceremonies would be, wondering how this year would be handled, and what new things he would learn.

Oh, it was such a pleasant dream! Gliding with the ease of any skilled acrobat, he swings through the air on strands of gossamer reality. In his hand- nay, part of his hand extends outward several feet as a sharp blade. Still, that weapon is merely an extension of himself and will not hurt that which he is not willing to harm. Beneath him, the neighborhoods flit by and are little more than a nameless blur as the buildings meld together from speed and distraction. It just feels so incredible to be this free! Until time seems to slow and stop. Caught in mid-swing, he wonders what is happening . . . and is answered by a whisper as soft and gentle as the breeze. The melodic voice calls to him "We have no more time. You must awaken, my friend. Now."

Though the voice was neither rude nor impassioned, the stress of that final word snaps Charles from his dream world. Moments pass in uncertainty as he tries to recollect where he is, and why there are a pile of very tidy clothes near his head. Suddenly he turns to his right and sees a very simple looking sword at his side, the faintest echo of a spiderweb glinting in the sunlight that threatens to overtake the room. "Oh . . . hell!"

Memories flood back into Charles Takena as he realizes who he is- a fledgeling shimigami in training, where he is- the academy where his life is about to change forever, and the situation- about to be late for his very first day and ceremony. Like a whirlwind he leaps out of bed and seemingly wills his clothes onto his body. Naturally, he did nothing more extravagant than rush through dressing, but to his stressed mind, there was no interval between being undressed, and in uniform. Grabbing his sword with more care than any other action in his brief wake-up blitzkrieg, Charles slams open his door and races out to the courtyard.

Strapping his beloved sword to his back, he is comforted to see others still filing into the yard, meaning he is not the last to arrive. Still, his steps do not slow and his caution does not grow as he races to his destination. The only careful thing he has done is tend to his blade- now very securely fastened to his back.

Yuki awoke quickly but peacefully. Laying on his bed while gazing at the ceiling, he mentally prepared himself for the first day. So, class 6-1. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the rest of the class on Zan-training. Lifting himself from his bed, the room was almost completely dark, featuring no windows. Placing his hand along the wall, he summoned a bit of his spiritual pressure. The spiritual circuits running throughout his walls responded to spiritual pressure. In a moment the light clikcered on and Yuki took his hand from the wall. trduging to the bathroom, he got ready. Emerging with his blue and white robes, pleated to perfection, on, He headed toward the door. Just as he was about to open it, he remembered something. Goodness, how could I have almost forgotten Maru? Turning on his heel hereached over to his bedpost and retrieved his katana. Fastening it to his left leg, he exited his lodging.

Tsubame wasn't paying very much attention when she nearly bumped into another student in the halls. She was doing a very quick walk, while her mind focused on something else. But, thanks to her quick, unconscious reflexes, she spun on the ball of her foot in order to avoid knocking into him. Makoto Yohare had surprised her and snapped her back to full wakefulness. She regained her footing, spun around completely, and stopped to greet her senior a good morning, and a new school year.

"Ahh, senpai! Ohayou-gozaimasu! It's another year for us isn't it?" she said, as she began to walk again, knowing that the ceremonies would start soon, "I'm happy to be in my 5th year, but if I can finish up this year quickly, then they might just have to graduate me early."

"What about you, Yohare-senpai? Are you ready to finish up your last year as well?"

Makoto kept pace with Tsubame, so as to continue the conversation. "Oh?" he said, "graduating in your fifth year? Not many have been able to do that. I'm sure you can, though. With your level of skill, and your especially unique Zanpakutou, I have plenty of faith in you, dear Tsubame. That being said, what are you hoping to do after the Academy?"

Atticus had already been waiting in the courtyard roughly two hours before the opening ceremonies. He was somewhat exited after it was already his fourth year it which was almost hard to belive. Time sure does fly by when your not paying attention. Another year meant new students at the academy and as usual Atticus was ready to help anyone lost or confused.

He leaned against a wall with one foot propped up and looked up at the hundreds of students passing by just trying to get to the opening ceremonies you could see a blur of blue and red. Its almost just about time for the year to kick off. " So are you ready for another year? " speaking to Izayoi. Atticus had closed his eyes wondering what was to come while tapping the hilt of his zanpakutou.

Tsubame stopped to think about what she was going to do after she graduated the Academy. After all, she had come here to learn how to utilize her 'abilities' towards a greater cause. Maybe she could possibly join the Secret Mobile Corps, but her greater dream is to be accepted into the 13 Court Guard Squads, and then maybe rise up the ranks.

"It doesn't really matter," she said, "if there's anywhere to go, that would be the Gotei 13. But anyone who wants to recruit me would be fine as well . . . as long as the benefits are good!"

She continued the path and turned the corner to go outside. The sun shone brightly today and she could tell that the start of the year was going to be a good one. She saw the freshman gathering in a corner of the yard, looking very confused or nervous, or both. Remembering how she was when she first came here, she had sympathy for them and knew exactly how it felt.

"Well, senpai, shall we go to greet our freshmen?"

Nirami soon stepped into the courtyard, and gazed around at the people that had collected there. Freshman were easy to pick out, and the upperclassman were, as well. He seemed to be apart of the middle group- neither sure, nor unsure. A hand rested on Homura's hilt, and it seem to warm a bit to his touch. He relaxed, and then continued on, pausing only as he heard someone seemingly speak to himself. 'So are you ready for another year?'

Who was, really? The freshman didn't know what was going on, so they wouldn't exactly be counted. The higher years, however... Nir didn't think anyone would really be ready for anything. There had been unexpected things, his freshman year, and he guessed it would only be similar in this year. Yawning softly, Nir glanced around to see if there was anyone he recognized. He'd made very few friends his freshman year, and some of them had been 6th-years. His coal eyes scanned the freshman, though, as he wondered if there was anyone there he might know.

With a soft sigh, Nir found no such luck, and looked through the older years.

"The Gotei 13," Makoto replied, "definitely seems the most viable option, especially for me. As long as I don't get put in Squad 4, I think I'll be fine. I have nothing against them, but they get treated like dirt. It's especially a shame, since they are the medical support team, without which we'd have lost a good many shinigami."

Outside, the sun was as bright as ever. This year was definitely shaping up to be one to remember. To Tsubame's question, Makoto answered, "I don't see why not. Let's make them feel welcome."

Atticus had spotted someone who looked a bit distraught, he couldnt't help but have a sly grin on his face ready to pounce. It was a bit wierd though this guy whoever he was almost looked a like a polar opposite for him. Maybe it was the long black hair pulled back into a pony tail.

Then again who ever he was he sure did stand out with rolled up sleeves, but either way it sure did beat trying to look cool and not talking to anyone. " Hey, the name is Atticus and you must be new this year am I right? " he had his hand out for a handshake nothing more than a simple gretting.

If he wanted to know anyones name Atticus could have simply asked the spiritual manifestation of thier zanpakutou but he would have looked nuts as if he was talking to no one especially if that person hadn't made contact with it. There was that fact and if that spiritial manifestation knew Atticus could them since only the owner of thier zanpakutou can see them. Best not to make myself look conspicous he thought to himself.

" You know if you stick with me this is going to be blast but it you might get into a little trouble. " Atticus just kept a contempt look on his face just waiting on this guys reaction.

Nirami blinked slightly as a white-haired male bounded up to him and offer his hand in greeting. He stared at it for a few moments, as if trying to judge whether it was diseased, or not. However, a thin smirk appeared on his lips slightly. "Actually, I'm a second year." he murmured, avoiding the hand shake and keeping his hand rested on Homura. He turned his head away and looked at the group of freshman a few people were trying to greet. "Those are who you want to greet." he sighed.

It wasn't as if it were obvious, or anything, Nir decided. He wasn't looking around lost and confused- more the fact that he was just looking for people. However, he tried not to be too judgemental of other people, so he returned his attention to Atticus. "Nirami Kane, Second year. Pleased to meet you, Senpai." he vaguely remembered something about an Atti-somethingorother being somewhere around two years higher in the academy than him.

Atticus scractched his head being a tad embarrassed " So your a sencond year here. Well you can't remember everyone here really I mean with so many students." He looked towards the group of new years Nirami had pointed out. All Atticus did at this point was cross his arms shrugging his shoulder as if to just let it slide. " I wouldn't worry about them they'll follow everyone into the auditorium. "

" However you might probably know this I don't know if its true or not but the say a girl last year reached bankai. Well whoever she is I plan to spar with her. "

At this point seeing so many people and spiritual manifestations even the courtyard was getting crowded for him. If only I could turn this off like a light switch. Luckily Izayoi left him alone for the time being. So it looked like he'd be starting the year with this Nirami fellow. " Well Nirami we should get seated now the opening ceremonies are about to begin soon. Care to follow? " with that said he walked off keeping his eyes closed its good thing he didn't have claustraphobia.

Nirami shrugged lightly at the mention of the girl reaching Bankai. He'd heard the rumor, and wondered slightly at the relevance of it all. Was it a mention of what kind of strength Atticus had? He vaguely heard chuckling within the depths of his mind, and the image of his Zanpakuto's manifestation came to thought. "He's odd." he voiced quietly aloud, and the image of the flaming armoured lizard nodded in agreement.
Stepping forwards, Nir began to trail after Atticus.

"I would think anyone who has reached Bankai by now has already been recruited- by Gotei 13, perhaps, depending on their skills. Unless they were low in the Academy, I'm sure there has been times where allowances were given for a license, without having to complete the six years." Nirami commented quietly as he stepped to walk beside Atticus. For the other males' sixth-sense, if he looked, Homura would be walking pridefully beside the boys' side. We'll become like that, when you get strong enough. came a gravelly voice from the manifestation, and Nir smiled slightly.

"Squad 4 isn't that bad," Tsubame replied, starting to pick up pace, walking towards the fray of students gathered in the front, "I'll devote my all to any Squad that accepts me, regardless of their status or duty."

"Though I doubt that Squad 11 is ever going to accept me," she said, thinking loudly, "since they're physically specialized and all . . . maybe the Secret Mobile Corps would take me too, because the only real thing I can do better than most of my peers is being able to shunpo somewhat faster than anyone else, and I can do it for extended periods of time too . . . but that's not the point."

Tsubame reached the gathering of students and welcomed a few of them to the Academy, said morning greetings to those she knew from the previous years and waited for the ceremonies to finally start which, she knew, should be any minute now. She looked around for anyone she knew and before long, the bell rang.

Time to go, I guess, she thought, as she led the pack into the main gathering hall inside the building. The freshmen looked confused and nervous as they followed the other students into the towering structure. Tsubame smiled slightly, though she couldn't help but feel a slight spiritual pressure coming from the main hall doors. It must a captain coming to check up on the Academy for the start of the year, she thought.

It didn'take far to long to get into the big hall, things didn't get any better with so many students seated with thier zanpakutou but at least this way everyone was organized in a line with thier spiritual manifestations. Nirami followed behind and Atticus had heard the he spirit of Nirami's zanpakutou. " Yeah it might be a just a rumor but the word has gotten out somehow so this girl must be pretty stong. Either way everyone whos anyone looking for a challange will find her. You can bet I'm going to be one of them. "

Atticus was quite confident in himself still having his arms crossed. He almost always has his head up high and chest out full of pride. Sometimes with so much pride it choke at least 3 horses, seeing how stubborn he could be.

He choose to be seated about mid level of the great hall that way they could hear everything. " This spot is just as good as any don't you think Nirami? " Hopefully if a captain of the gotei 13 gave a speech it wouldn't be actually be the 13th captain Ukitake himself. He wouldn't hear the end of it.

Then out of nowhere Izayoi had to break her silence commenting if Atticus's favorite captain Ukitake would show up. He just ignored her even though she new he could hear her every word.
