/castsequence reset=20/combat/target ice shield, frostbolt,
this is going to be your bread and butter. You pick which spell is the best, personally I would put in defense (like shield) first and program as many instant spell you can and then long casting time smile
combat = when you are in combat follow the chain when you are out of combat it resets.
reset = xx seconds, the chain will reset when 20 seconds are up
target = chain restart from the 1st spell when you switch target.
If you don't like defensive spell first then program that into a different macro and just have offensive spells on the other macro smile try to keep your spell casting limiting to 1-4 buttons (easy reach)
now.. the specs.
Arcane - Pure arcane is VERY nasty in small spaces. This can be a super flag killer at AB and EoTS (Eye of The Storm) because you are killing people in masses ALSO great to take out people trying to touch the flag (IMO) arcane explosion, arcane blast and arcane missiles are your friend. Any skill that boost that is a bonus (i.e. one of the talent make arcane missile 100% interruptible is good)
Ice - This is a GREAT offensive PvP. With the right gear you can do some serious damage and have great stopping power. It is also a good support tree since you stop the enemy in their track and lay on them. the Ice Barrier is nice too since it doesn't take away mana like Mana shield. Any talent that help boost damage and have chill effect is good.
Fire - one of the highest DPS out there. This is pure unadulterated damage. a lot of these spells are for the quick kill and move on. You don't have as much defense (like ice or arcane) so you want to hot key your chain combat spell and get out and move to the next target smile
That is just my personal note. I personally went with Ice, but my guildy LOVE fire... fire fire fire fire.... but I notice a lot of mages start going with Arcane since one of the BEST ability is % to resist to gain mana back (max like 5% of your total mana) this is NICE when you fight against a lot of warlocks, druids, other mages that are casting spells at you!!!
edit: note these are from personal experiences smile also I only do BGs for now. I'm trying to form Arena PvP which is more fine tune than BGs.
