Sorry it's not longer. I need to go to bed: I'm tired!

Chapter Two

I hated Janet’s apartment. Because of “Daddy’s money,” she lived in a penthouse apartment right next to Central Park. It was all marble floors and expensive electronics and walk-in closets bigger than my kitchen. What I couldn’t get over was that she was still taking her father’s money, even though she was only two years younger than me. She needed to get a job, like the rest of us. I hated her apartment.
She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards her bedroom closet, chattering as usual.
“Oh, we just have to dress you up right!” she squealed. “I mean, if you want to get noticed by the band.”
“Do I want to be noticed by the band?” I asked, bewildered. She rolled her eyes.
“Of course, silly! That’s the point!” she said it as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. I mimicked her behind her back. Pulling me through her bedroom, we came upon her expansive closet and she immediately started looking through clothes.
About a half hour later, with half of her closet on the floor, Janet found the perfect outfit for me. Unfortunately, I didn’t really agree. She held it out towards me, and I backed away slowly.
“Keep that away from me.” I warned.
“Oh, come on, Mel!” she whined. “It’ll look so good on you!” I glared at her. The outfit- if you could call it that- was a pair of black boots that looked like they belonged in Iraq, and a skirt, fishnet stockings, and a black tank top that all looked like they belonged on a street corner.
“Absolutely not.” I crossed my arms. It was final; I would not look like some Goth hooker for a stupid concert.
Well, somehow she got it on me. I don’t really know how; I think she bothered me so much that I finally gave in. But it looked horrible. The shirt was too short, the tank top was too low, and the fishnet stockings would never protect against the cold New York air. Janet fished out a leather jacket for me to wear, because she said that it “completed the look.” Oh, it completed the look. As a hooker. After a while of me looking in the mirror mourning my dignity, Janet grabbed my hand and pulled me into the expansive bathroom to do my makeup and hair. She wanted to dye the whole top layer of my hair green, but I wouldn’t let her, so she settled with dying a strand of hair green. Then she did my makeup, which was black and green eyeliner. I looked even more like a prostitute.
Then the doorbell rang, and she squealed with delight.
“Oooooh! That’s the limo service!” I looked at her in disbelief.
“You got a limo service?” I asked.
“Well, duh, silly! We have to go the concert in style! C’mon!” She grabbed my hand and pulled me out the door to greet the driver and to ride in the unnecessary limo.
“Melinda, you have to try this!” Janet yelled from sanding up out of the sunroof in the limo. I looked up from the magazine I was leafing through.
“I think not.”
“Oh, you’re such a party pooper.” I sighed and rolled my eyes.
“I’m here, aren’t I? Besides, you’ve already degraded me enough by making me wear this stupid outfit. I’m not gonna show the entire city what I look like, thanks very much. Someone might try to pick me up as a hooker.”
Janet just glared down at me, and I gave her a sarcastic look back. She looked back up to enjoy her view, and I looked back down at my magazine.
The limo pulled up to a club that I had never seen before, and we got out. I noticed that there was no line, like one would expect there to be, and I became confused. I turned to Janet.
“Hey, Jan, how come there’s no line or whatever?”
“Hmm, well it may be due to the fact that the club doesn’t let people in for another three hours…”
“WHAT?! I am not waiting outside in December for three hours!”
As it turned out, I did have to wait outside in December for three hours. I was extraordinarily grumpy by the time we were allowed in, and I couldn’t help but think that if this band wasn’t good, I would have to kill someone. Janet was happy, though, because we were able to stand right up against the barriers in front of the stage. All the better to blow our ears out with noise, I thought to myself, and I put some earplugs in.
I was horrified to find out that what Janet had dressed me in was not out of the norm. Girls dressed in similar outfits filed in quickly, and soon filled the club. I made a face of disgust and turned back to face the stage.

Haha, I'm sorry if this is wrong, but Melinda's awesome. I love her whole attitude, all sarcasm and stuff. Anywho, love this!

Ah! I lied. Update!

Chapter Three
After about forty-five minutes of standing there like idiots, the house lights finally went down, and everyone started screaming. I rolled my eyes and focused on the curtain that was about to be raised. This had better be worth my time, I thought.

Gerard’s P.O.V. Six hours earlier.
We had been on the bus for fifteen hours, travelling from Florida. Normally I never minded spending that much time with my friends, but lately…I don’t know. They’ve been getting on my nerves. Everything’s kinda been getting on my nerves, really.

I watched the bottom of the top bunk above me as the bus swayed back and forth. I concentrated on the patterns of the wood; on each and every grain, on each and every line. I did this to keep myself occupied, but my mind kept on wandering. I kept on thinking of the show we were about to give, of my friends’ happiness that we were together, and my seeming unhappiness. I couldn’t abandon the idea that something was missing. This wasn’t like before; this was nothing like the depression. I just couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right; I felt jittery, anxious. Something was missing…
Slowly, I got up from my bed and made my way into the front of the bus to find my brothers sitting together, laughing about something. I was frustrated, and I had no idea why. Ray looked up.
“Hey, man, what’s up?” I simply shrugged and got a diet coke from the fridge. Was it because they seemed so happy and I wasn’t? That made me even more frustrated. I cracked open the can and took a sip. This did no good; coffee would’ve been better. I put the can back in the fridge.
“Aw, don’t put that back!” Frank yelled out. He was only teasing, but it made my anger flare. I tamped it down as best I could and attempted a grin.
“Whatever, man.” I could feel that my smile was not right, so I quickly abandoned that idea and turned to go back to my bed. I needed to work on The Umbrella Academy, anyways.

The paper sat in front of me, mocking me. Can’t think of anything? it seemed to ask.
“Shut up.” I told it.
“Talking to inanimate objects is never a good sign.” Said someone from the doorway. I looked up quickly to find my little brother looking at me. He was grinning, but there were undertones of worry all over his face. I smiled, and he relaxed.
“But it’s not polite to just ignore them when they talk to you first.” I said, and he chuckled. Leaning against the opposite pair of bunk beds, he studied my face. “What?” I asked. He shook his head.
“I dunno, Gee. Lately…you’ve been a little off.” I nodded.
“I don’t know, Mikey.” I ran my hand through my hair. “Something feels off.” He nodded, understanding.
“Alright, man. As long as it’s not like before…?” I shook my head.
“No. Nothing like that. This just feels weird.”
“Okay. Just know that you can talk to me, if you want.”
“I know.” He nodded and briefly put his hand on my shoulder. He then walked back out to the front of the bus to rejoin the rest of the group who were probably anxious about my “condition.” I sighed and looked at the clock. We would be arriving at the club in less than half an hour.

Sorry it isn't more, but I'm REALLY upset, 'cause they chose Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory) to play Edward in the Twilight movie! Ugh! I'm so mad I feel like ripping a TV in half!
