..Acceptance Letters..
"Mail's here, boys!" Renee set a stack of letters from colleges on the counter, which was immediately pounced upon by two boys. "Careful!" She cried as they tore through the house on their way to their room. The woman sighed and flipped through the rest of the mail with a groan. "Bills..."
The twins separated the mail into two piles, one for each boy. "Let's open by school." Kaden told his brother and picked the first up off his stack. Keagan hunted through and found the same envelope. With a nervous nod, the two tore the letters open.
Groans came from both boys. "No scholarship..." Keagan tossed it aside and glanced up at his twin, who shook his head. "This one next."
The piles dwindled and there were no scholarships yet. They were down to the last two. They ripped open the letters from OSU and Keagan gave a cry. "I got one!" He glanced excitedly at his twin, who shook his head. "Idiots..." Keagan muttered, picking up the last envelope.
The emblem showed that it was from OU and the two ripped them open. Keagan groaned and shook his head, but he noticed that his twin seemed to be in shock. "Didn't get one either?"
"No... I did..." Kaden showed his brother the letter. "We can't go to two different schools..." Kaden said while Keagan looked over the letter. "Plus, they're state rivals..."
"But... they're the only ones that gave us scholarships..."
Kaden flopped onto his bed and sighed. "I don't really want to leave town... Susan's around here and we'd be able to continue our training..."
"I'm sure there's trainers in Oklahoma..." Keagan stated.
Kaden sighed. "True... but our schedules would be different. Plus, I'm sure the coaches wouldn't be happy if we were meeting all of the time, being from different teams..."
"True." Keagan kicked the foot of the bed. "So... what do we do?" He'd never thought of life outside of football, really.
"We could look into the community college. We'd probably get some sort of scholarship there. Our test scores aren't that bad. Then we'd be around here and could continue training..."
"But... football keeps us in shape. We'd have to do something about that, more practice with Susan, maybe?"
"There's always the gym. Or we could get some weights and workout here at home. Besides, if we went to the community college and didn't have football practice all of the time, we could get jobs and make some money to help Mom out..."
Keagan nodded, glancing over at the football lying in the floor. "I'm gonna miss it..."
Kaden got up and gave his brother a quick hug. "Me too." He released his twin. "Wanna play on the Playstation?"
"You're on!"
