Jamie watched her soft lips wondering if they speak truth, was she really offering them a chance to stop the monsters that lie beyond, or was she speaking words of deciet, his heart was pounding, he knew he had to say something and he did, the words "Im In" came out of his lips as he raised his sword into the night sky.

"Im not so sure this is a good idea" Jamie whispers to Russ "But the Mayor's letter was in the newspaper a few days ago, it told of a group of Monster Hunters, maybe this is it" He slowly lowers his Diamond Long Sword and puts it back in his holster before pulling out a Diamond Short Sword and holding it tightly.

"Everything is changing isnt it" Jamie whispers "I was once just a guy who worked at a bar who lead a simple, now im embarking on quests"

I had heard the persons call of what was in it for him. This guy was stupid. "It could be your life." I called. "These creatures won't stop at the little villages, they will move closer and closer, and more will come. I seen this all before. If they are not stopped quickly they won't be stopped at all."

I looked round. "But apart from that I won't be coming on your little quest. Well not offically anway."

"Peh. What these creatures do to anything here is none of my concern. My life is in no danger from some second-rate demons and this 'quest' has been the only thing keeping me in this forsaken country. I cannot be bought so easily, you'll have to think of something better than spineless death-threats to sway me." He said mockingly. He couldn't figure out what everyone was so nervous about, if there actually was something out there that could kill him he would more than happily join this party just to fight it.

-Lariene glanced among the crowd noticing that many of the occupants were fighting among themselves. She answered the man who arose a question against her offer. "Fine be it so then. Shall you be a coward when the creatures ravige our towns and cities, plage our people with fear and dispare? Surely you have no simpathy. And when our countries are in ruins what will you do?" She shook her head. "Surely you only think of the reward in this, not the honor. I do not know what the reward will be. I only know that I will not stand idley here and watch my country be torn into pieces. If this answer is not enough for you then I suggest you leave. When the time will come you will know." She glanced around to the people and watched their faces.

A high pitched whistling sound could be heard. Soon the same sounds joined in groups. She glanced behind the crown of people into the darkness of the Northern Gate. They were coming. Her voice rang high into the crowd. "Prepare!" She drew her sword closer to her side. Stepping down from the fountain ledge. She pushed through the crowd walking closer to the dark gate. She could hear the gate slowly being opened. The shrieking of the creatures could be heard from behind the gate. The gates creaked open. But it was too dark to see. The gates were to far away from the lamp posts.

Her eyes glanced around the gate surounding Barton. "Eh.. What''s that stench.." She covered her nose and mouth her cape as she caught of the foul smelling stench. The smell was indeed strong. She heard something whistle in the air. Then she looked ahead to the most grousome of creatures. The creature was massive in stature with a very grim looking face. It''s mouth opened showing it''s large yellow teeth. It had large green eyes and a cirular head. It''s mass was very bulky which kept it from moving any faster. She ganced quickly around noticing that it was the only one. "They''re testing us..." She whispered. As the creature shadowed overhead it reached towards her with it''s large claws. She looked up at the creature attacking it''s massive hand with her sword. The creature shrieked in pain as green liquid oozed from it''s arm. She dashed back as the liquid spilled onto her cloak. The creature swiped it''s remaining claws at her causing her to fall beneath it. She peirced her sword into the creature''s stomach causing it''s organs to gust out of it's abdomn. She crawled back as the creature fell down onto the ground. She stood up and wiped the mess off of her face. She looked towards the crowd. "It''s not over yet." Soon the cries of the creatures could be heard as several of them quickly headed for them. "Attack!" she said raising her sword into the air. She hoped that they would join her in this assult.-

I laghed as I dove into the fray. This was what I was born to do. A few seconds later I was fighting alongside the barkeeper from a few nights ago. "Fancy meeting you here." I said while sweeping my sword in a wide arc, decapitating two monsters at once.

I spun around, while I was turning I pulled out a dagger with my free hand and flicked it at the beast, the dagger flew straight through it's neck, severing a major artery. The beast bled to death. "Thanks." I said.
