Kiri’s tail and ears twitched as she stared at the paper in front of her. It was rare to ever see the cat girl with a blank piece of paper in front of her since she was forever drawing, her sister once said if she didn’t have a book or a pencil in her hand then she really was unwell, nothing short of a fever could stop her. But the problem was this paper wasn’t for drawing. She was certain she would later laugh at herself for doing this but she felt she needed to keep a record of the day she found her newest family member, a leaf. Kiri hadn’t lived in Gaia as long as she had not to know strange things happened; many of her illustration assignments were portraits of the strange animals and children that appeared from the strangest of items. It wasn’t that she believed that the leaf was going to become a child but she did think it was going to be something. It certainly seemed somehow magical, if not very strong. It has floated in the open window of Kiri’s studio to land in front of her just when she needed a leaf for reference. The problem was that it was too cold for leaves at present and this leaf seemed able to move without the aid of wind. After discovering despite the fact that it was a big klutz it would still try and follow her Kiri had tucked it into her hair, it seemed happy there and clung there without aid. After just one day she was already fond of it. With a sigh she pushed black hair out of her eyes and started to write, staring at the paper wasn’t going to make this write itself and besides if nothing came of all this no one had to know that she had made the diary. Diary 21-12-07 I don’t normally keep diaries since I always get bored with them but I suppose if what I think is right I might not be so bored about keeping this diary. The prettiest leaf blew into my studio today. It was good timing too, I was in the middle of drawing some flowers and the leaf was perfect as a model for the leaves. It’s a very pretty leaf, bright green and fairly traditionally shaped, it seems very healthy so I don’t know why it isn’t on a tree. Strange thing is the leaf has been acting a bit odd, normally I would just put it down to me not paying attention to my surroundings but I’m sure that there was no breeze in my studio since it blows my papers all around. Even though there was not wind when I got up from the table to head out of the room the leaf followed me. I ended up tucking it into my hair with a clip, it seems happier now and hopefully won’t get lost. For some reason I have a good feeling about this leaf. I wonder what will come of it. Kiri

Kitty was once more bent over her note book, dark hair unbound flopped over her shoulders onto the notebook and into her eyes. Frowning she pushed it out of her eyes. The leaf was still clinging to her hair, it rather surprised her. Her hair was long and thick so that when it was out it was hard for clips to stay still but this leaf was persistently staying in the same place, it was in fact better than a clip. Thinking about it she figured that maybe it would turn into a hair ornament, it was certainly not normal and it liked clinging to her hair. Simon had laughed when he had seen it but it wasn’t really very seriously. They’re collection of book included a rather impressive collection on Gaia so he knew better than many that strange things happened in Gaia and if something behaved strangely it had a reason for it. The fact that once he had realized it wasn’t a normal leaf that he wanted to burn it meant that they still weren’t talking. Hopefully when he realized it was a benign leaf he would relent. With a shake of her head to move the hair out of her eyes she got back to writing. Diary 28-12-07 It has been some days since my last entry, I had some commission and the leaf has been behaving itself so well that I almost forget that it was there. Simon reminded me to make an entry by poking his head in and asking if I was willing for him to burn it yet. It really is very well behaved and vibrates a bit when I stroke it so I think that makes it happy, it also likes lots of sunshine, which means that I’m also getting more sun. So since it’s actually been good for me I don’t think Simon is acting very rational. He thinks that it’s possessed and that we should get rid of it but while I’m inclined to agree that its possessed I don’t think that it means us any harm. There is something about it that makes me think that it’s really nice. Mrs Potts agrees with me. Well what she said was that all of my family is so strange that she wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be a child and if that was the case Simon better not hurt it. Personally I think its going to turn into a hair ornament but I suppose we’ll find out when the time is right. Kiri

Shouko surveyed the house before her. More leaves had finally arrived on the wind, all at once like when she had been born, and one had arrived here. She smiled and made her way up the front walk, eying the doorbell as she placed a flowerpot on the steps.
"I wonder what'll come of you," she told it, tucking a letter into the soil before making her exit. The Letter Dear Kiki,
A little birdie told me you found one of our leaves recently. We're an organization called The Eden Project, and your leaf is a very special one. If you take good care of it, it will develop into a child. I've attached a flowerpot and special soil that will help it along its way. If you have any questions, give us a call or stop by our headquarters in Barton.
Good luck!
~Shouko

Mrs Potts looked into Kiri’s studio. Kiri was already there; she had a new commission and was working hard to get it done by the date set.
“Miss, sorry to bother you but someone left a letter and present for you at the door.”
Kiri frowned and finished the part of the picture she was working on. Who could be sending her presents now? Christmas was already over, it was possibly from Lyre but it wasn’t like her to leave it at the door.
Finishing the detail she looked up and blinked in surprise. She didn’t know what she had been expecting but a simple terracotta pot wasn’t it.
Walking over she accepted the pot from Mrs Potts and noticed the letter with the package of dirt in the pot. She put the pot down and read the letter. Then blinked again and pulled the leaf from her hair for a closer look. The leaf as if conscious of the stare squirmed as if embarrassed or uncomfortable.
“It looks like you were right, Mrs Potts. Say hello to the newest member of our family. It was a good thing that Simon didn't burn her afterall.”
Despite her calm appearance Kiri was mentally a lot less calm. She wasn’t ready to be a parent and one thing that all the strange children of Gaia had in common was that they weren’t normal, if she wasn't ready for a normal child how would she deal with an abnormal one? It wasn’t that she didn’t already like the leaf, she did, a lot and would have mourned its loss, but a child was a big responsibility.
“Well, I had hoped that you would have found a nice young man before you found an heir but I suppose this works” Mrs Potts commented prosaically, she had been wanting Kiri to start socializing more and felt that if she couldn’t get her dating at least a child might make her interact with other parents. Odd Gaian children often belonged to some association or another where Kiri could meet other people.
With that said Mrs Potts left Kiri to it.
Kiri looked at the leaf then at the pot and got to work ‘potting’ the leaf. Since there were no roots to the leaf she simply buried the stem and part of the leaf in the dirt and patted it down firm around it. The leaf squirmed again, not at all happy with its new home, it had much preferred Kiri’s hair.
Kiri agreed with it, live had been simpler when it was just a hair ornament but while she didn’t like responsibility she didn’t shy away from it either. If she was to be a parent she would be a good one.
She smiled faintly at the leaf and commented, "This is probably a bit late but welcome to the family little one." before getting back to her work, the pot carefully placed on the window sill near she desk.

Kiri glared at the chew marks on the edge of the pot. The leaf was fine, it didn’t look like whatever was eating the pot liked its greens, which she supposed was a good thing. It wouldn’t do for her new child to be eaten before it had a chance to be anything other than a leaf in a pot. Simon had laughed his head off when he had heard that her hair piece was in fact a child but she thought part of him was also grateful that he hadn’t burned it. Mrs Potts reaction was to ransack the library for books on names and bombard Kiri whenever she showed her face down stairs with different name options. Personally Kiri wanted a fairly normal name, both her and her sister had strange names and she felt that a slightly more normal name wasn’t a bad thing. But still not totally generic, she drew the line at Bob. She was also starting to ask questions about this Eden group, it wouldn’t hurt to find out more about this and possibly meet other people with these children, possibly the children too. The more she knew about what she was getting herself into the better she would feel. Picking up her pen she started on yet another diary entry, at least now she knew that she had a good reason for keeping it. Diary 02-01-08 Well, it turned out that the leaf wasn’t a minor possession after all. I suppose part of me always thought that it would be a child, there are so many stories of the strange children that appear in Gaia but I was just refusing to accept it as a possibility. Children are a big responsibility, especially for a single person. At least in my case I’ll have Mrs Potts to help out and tell me if I’m making a mistake but the end of the story is that it’s going to be my child and therefore it will be my duty to make sure it grows up properly. I think if it’s a girl I’ll call it Alice. It has a nice ring to it and its meaning is nice as well. It’s fairly common but not too much so, my only concern is whether she will mind having the same name as Alice from “Alice in Wonderland”. I don’t know what I’ll call it if it’s a boy, I suppose I had better make a decision since I don’t know how long until it grows up and I find out. I suppose that I’ll have to let Lyre know that she’s an aunt sometime but I think I want more information before I let her know.

Kiri looked at the details which Mrs Potts had gotten for her. It was the address of the Eden Project's Head Quarters and instructions on how to get there. Both her and Mrs Potts were worried that possessed children often had special needs and wanted to be forewarned about what to expect from Alice. Shrugging Kiri grabbed a coat and headed out the door, Simon had some things to do in Barton and was happy to drop her off at the place and pick her back up. Kiri Kiri glanced around her as she entered the shop, it was a nice looking place, more like an organisation than a shop. Mrs Potts had helped her find the address of the Eden Project. They both agreed that it was important to find out more about the Eden Project. Kiri wanted to know what to expect from her leaf, what to panic at and what was normal. The fact that it wouldn't be normal was made evident by the increasing chew marks on the rim of the pot. The room seemed to be empty, but maybe the owner was in the back. Stopping to look at the picture gallery Kiri made her way to the front desk. She wondered if Alice would look like the people in the pictures, kinda animal or plantish. Shouko Shouko had dozed off at the desk while filing out paperwork, but the sound of the door slamming roused her. The pink-haired teen looked up, wiped her mouth off, and smiled at the woman who was perusing the photos.
"Welcome to The Eden Project!" she said, standing up. The form on her desk made an attempt to fly away, but she slammed her hand down on it and shut the folder.
"Can I help you with anything?" Kiri Kiri turned and smiled at the teen. She seemed a bit young to be running the place but maybe she was just helping out, after all her photo was among the others on the wall, that meant that she was an Eden like Alice. It looked like her name was Shouko, it sounded nice and the girl looked friendly. Tackfully ignoring the obvious fact that she had been asleep Kiri walked over to the desk. She hoped the girl wasn't pushing herself too much, to be sleeping at the desk like that. Holding up Alice's pot Kiri commented "I was blessed with this little one but apart from the fact that she will grow into a little girl I don't know anything about her. I was hoping you could help make me a bit less ignorant." Shouko So this was one of the people she had delivered a flower pot to! thought Shouko. It seemed the thing had returned to her. Putting on her best tour guide voice, she began to explain. "She's an Eden. Or, at least, that's what we've taken to calling ourselves. A few years ago, our founder, Lena, found the first leaf to blow out of the garden and we've been popping up ever since!"
She smiled, choosing to glaze over any dark bits that tried to creep into her mind. Best not burden the woman with that now. She pointed to the photographs.
"We're all refugees from the Garden, where everyone has the soul of a plant or an animal," she explained, moving into history lesson mode. "We aren't clear on the specifics, but it seems the garden burned at some time in the past and we all became leaves scattered on the winds."
She looked at the little sprig of green in the flower pot and wondered who was sealed inside it.
"Lena made it her goal to find the leaves as they arrived and make sure they had the right things they need to grow again, which is why whenever I find out about a new leaf I deliver a flowerpot."
She paused, thinking.
"I'm Shouko, by the way. Since you're here, I guess you got my letter!" Kiri Kiri frowned slightly, she had known that Alice was unusal but a refugee from the Garden of Eden she had not expected. It was a lot to take in. The garden of Eden was supposed to be paradise but it also didn't sound like the kinda place you just left. Shaking off such sombre thoughts she smiled at the girl again. It wouldn't do to appear judgemental or impolite, besides regardless of Alice's beginnings, she was Kiri's daughter now and they would work through any problems this presented as they appeared. "Yes I got your letter. I don't know how many letters you sent out but my house was the one in the old part of Durem, with the park in the centre of the square." She didn't think anyone else with such a house had gotten a letter, she thought Mrs Potts or Simon would have heard if they had. "My name's Kiri Faeson." She belated commented realising she hadn't introduced herself. "And this is Alice, or at least I'm fairly sure she's a girl and so Alice." She didn't know why she thought the leaf was a girl, it definitely didn't act very girlish but somehow she was sure of it. "So if you don't mind me asking, how exactly is a leaf going to turn into a little girl and is there anything particuar I need to do to make her comfortable?" Shouko "The time varies, but generally it will go through some sort of metamorphosis. It's gathering strength now, but as long as you keep it watered and sunny it should be fine," said Shouko.
"I've heard of it taking anywhere from a week to over a year for a leaf to manifest as a child," she added. "So don't get worried if nothing happens for a while!"
She remembered that house with the park. "I went there! It was a beautiful neighborhood." Kiri Kiri blinked, that was a pretty big time gap. She didn't think that it would matter much since the nursery would keep but still. Sun and water seemed easy enough, keeping Mrs Potts calm if this took a year might not be quite so easy. "The house was my grand-uncle's. I inherited it when he died some years back." Kiri said, to explain why she lived in such a grand house. "Do strange things ever happen around the pot?" Kiri asked cautiously. "It's just strange as it may sound, I think Alice maybe chewing on hers." Since nothing else seemed affected that was the conclusion Kiri had come to, to explain the marks. There weren't many of them and they were rather weak, but definitely there. Shouko "I've heard of worse," shrugged Shouko. Maybe that was a sign of what was inside the leaf?
"I wonder..." she sighed, leaning in to inspect the pot. Sure enough, there were bite marks. A carnivore then.
"Oh, it probably won't take nearly that long. Only a few have." Kiri Worse than eating their pot! She hoped that Alice did nothing worse but wondered what some of the other Edens may have done while potted. She also wondered what Shouko had been about to say when she trailed off like that but assumed that if it was anything of import the girl would have finished the sentence. The idea that is maybe connected to the plant or animal soul Alice possessed didn't occur to her, it was still taking her a while to properly assimilate that information and would probably take her a while before she started trying to guess. "I'm glad to hear that, my house keeper, Mrs Potts, is already coming up with all sorts of schemes for her entertainment and residency. She would be very disappointed to have to wait a year." What she didn't say was that she was relieved because she was sure the Mrs Potts would think it Kiri's fault if it took a year and become increasinly sulky the longer it took. Kiri "Well, good luck!" said Shouko, smiling broadly. "Be sure to bring her back once she grows! Things have been a little hectic around here, but once everything settles down I'm sure it'll be easy to find fun things to do around here."
Her eyes flashed as an idea crossed her mind.
"Why don't you go out back and look at our gardens before you leave?" Kiri "That sounds nice." Kiri commented politely. She wanted to see more of the place anyway, although since she didn't look the gardening type she didn't know why Shouko would suggest it. Her clothes were casual and comfortable but she didn't think they made her look like a nature lover. Besides it was winter, what would there to see at this time of the year? "There have been a lot of new Eden lately then?" Kiri asked trying for a polite way to ask why things might be hectic lately and if she should expect any trouble. Shouko "Yes," nodded Shouko, showing Kiri through the playroom and out the back door. "I'm not sure why, but we seem to come about in bunches. Almost no one comes out of Eden alone."
She shrugged and started down the path that would take them past the azaleas and around the lake.
"It's also been busy because no one had been at headquarters for a very long time until a few months ago. I've been working on getting old utility bills and adoption forms filled out."
"We have a greenhouse over there," she said, pointing to a building rising out of a border of ivy trellises. Kiri Well even with the random growth rates it was good to know that there was a high chance of Alice having other Edens her own age to play with, but she didn't like the idea that the place had been abandoned for a while. "That sounds like a lot of work for a teen like yourself to take on, are you working on this alone?" Kiri asked cautiously. She didn't want to sound like she was prying or judgemental. In fact she was a impressed, the girl had guts to take on something like this, it was just that she couldn't like the idea that she had felt that she needed to. Shouko "My friend Teagan helps me with the upkeep," said Shouko, smiling. "You'll meet him sometime."
She kept walking, pointing out some tulips as she went.
"I make sure the bills are paid, I give out flowerpots, and I'm here whenever people need questions answered. It's not so hard." Kiri Thinking about the photo gallery she seemed to remember there was a boy about Shouko's age there. She supposed that was Teagan. It was good to know that Shouko wasn't trying to run this place by herself but it still seemed odd that the place was been run by two teenages. Kiri mentally shrugged, since her own sister had run away to join the circus at a much younger age she supposed she wasn't one to judge. Besides, perhaps having one of these strange souls made you grow up quicker. Looking around, Kiri could see that the gardens were in need of help but were still rather pretty and could probably be brought back to their former glory with a little TLC. "I'll have to come by again sometime, I hope to meet some of the other parents and Edens next time. I just hope Alice will be able to join me on my next visit." She decided not to ask how a place which didn't seem to have any income could pay bills, she supposed that there was a trust or something. Shouko "You should definitely come back once she grows. I'd love to see her," said Shouko.
"It was nice to meet you," she added as she showed Kiri out of the garden. Kiri Kiri waved goodbye to the pink haired girl, thinking that Eden project seemed to have some mysteries to it but if Alice was as nice and responsible as Shouko seemed to be she would count herself very lucky.

Inside it's slightly chewed orange clay pot the leaf is beginning to wiggle furiously trying to dig itself out of the dirt. It's rich green colour is starting to fade into the vibrant gold usually only seen on foliage in fall.

Kiri tugged at a lock of hair as she looked nervously at the leaf sitting happily in its pot on the window sill next to her desk. She knew she should have asked Shouko more questions when she had the chance. Such as how to tell if your leaf wasn’t healthy, Alice gave off unhappy vibes if she was unhappy but Kiri didn’t know if she would do the same thing if she was unwell.
It was her experience that when a leaf turned yellow that meant that it was about to fall of the tree, which in this case wouldn’t be good but Alice was still giving off her happy vibes and didn’t seem distressed. So the question was did she trust the judgment of a leaf as to what was good for it or did she start panicking and call up the Eden Project.
Kiri decided to leave it for a little while longer and see what happened. If eating your pot was not behaviour to be worried about maybe colour change was fine as well.

Colour change was indeed a good sign in Eden leaves and Alice seemed to know that. The now golden leaf was mostly out from under all the dirt and it's struggles were causing the orange pot to rock precariously on the edge of the window sill. Alice's lead was also losing it's perfect shape and smooth look, it was starting to get a bit shaggy.

Kiri stared almost incredulously at the changes taking place on her window sill. Giving up any thought of getting any work done she grabbed the pot before it could fall and put it on the ground in the middle of her studio. Even if Alice seemed to be trying to dig herself out of the pot she still didn’t think that the pot falling onto the floor would be a good thing.
After making sure that there was nothing near the rocking pot Kiri sat down on the floor in front of the pot and got ready to wait. She doubted that the leaf was going to keep up this strange behaviour for too long, or at least she hoped that it wouldn’t. She also hoped that it wasn’t anything bad. She didn’t think it was, for one Alice was still giving off restless but happy vibes and for another she didn’t think that killing off a leaf would be this interesting. Somehow she didn’t associate leaves growing golden fur with them dying, all the same she got up and locked the door, it wouldn’t do for Simon or Mrs Potts to walk in right now.
Her and her leaf’s privacy assured Kiri sat down once more and prepared to wait, she hoped she wouldn’t have to wait too long for the reason for all this to become clear.

Kiri had mere moments to wait as Alice's leaf sprung free from the dirt and up into the air. The furry yellow leaf glowed a brilliant white and it fell and what hit the ground with only a slight thud was neither leaf nor human nor canine. ( This would be the placeholder art for Alice , however you may still now rp her as officially grown)

Kiri could feel the hair on her tail starting to stand up. That was a dog in front of her, sure if was also a girl but it was still a dog and all she feline instincts were screaming. She took a deep breath, dog or not this was Alice and Alice was her daughter. Besides not all dog breeds were bad, she liked Labradors; they were friendly and didn’t tend to chance her.
To Kiri’s horror Alice’s ears and tail were starting to droop. She forced herself to calm down and smile at her daughter, it wasn’t that bad, cats and dogs could get on and Alice was cute. The moment she smiled the ears and tail came back up, somehow Kiri got the feeling this was a child who would need a lot of positive reinforcement and somehow that made her less worried about the whole canine thing.
With a sigh Kiri got up and offered a hand to Alice. “Would you like something to eat?” And so with an eager dog girl holding her hand Kiri went in search of Mrs Potts and food.
She could tell that things were going to start getting interesting; she just hoped the old nursery would appeal to its new resident.

Kiri looked at the diary open before her. She was glad that Alice hadn’t turned out to be quite as demanding a charge as she had expected. In fact as long as people were around and paid some attention to her every so often she tended to be happy to keep herself occupied. Not all the occupations had met the approval of the adults. Because of her inquisitive nature Alice was always poking her nose into places and trying different things. They were just lucky that her dislike of being alone meant that she didn’t stray too far from them so they could quickly stop her from dangerous or damaging activity. She also tended to want approval which prevented her from keeping secrets. Kiri keeping an eye out the window at the girl trying handstands on the back lawn started her next entry in the diary. Diary 17-1-08 Its being a while since I wrote in this diary, I’ve try and cover a lot in this entry so I’ll have to keep the points brief. Simon has been looking up different dog breeds trying to figure out what breed Alice is. At present we think based on appearance and personality that she’s a Labrador, which is nice. She seems to like having books read to her, but I think this might just be because she likes having one of us paying attention to her even then she doesn’t stay still but is constantly wandering around the room and looking at stuff. Mrs Potts has put locks on all the cupboards in the kitchen because Alice seems to love food and will continue eating unless someone stops her. I think she will either be a wonderful cook when she grows up or a terrible one since she will eat all the ingredients before they go into the mix. All the rooms which Alice isn’t allowed into are kept locked. She has figured out how to open doors and possibly bolts as well. Alice hates been by herself, she’s willing to go into the backyard by herself since she can still see me through the studio window but she has to have one of us in view. This can be useful since if we take our eyes off her she tends to get into mischief. She doesn’t talk much but conveys a lot using body language and loves physical contact. I don’t know why she doesn’t like talking she doesn’t seem stupid. She seems to be very curious and has lots of energy. She is also very sensitive she hates anger and starts dropping if you even frown at her. I sent a message to Lyre to inform her that she is now an aunt but I don’t know when she’ll get it. I also didn’t mention much in it, she is always doing that to me so all I told her was that she was now an aunt to a cute girl called Alice. I can’t wait to see how she responds. Well I think that’s enough for now. Kiri Finishing the entry into the diary Kiri waved at Alice out the window to make sure the girl knew her mother was paying attention then went back to her art. It was a good thing most of her art was digital, she got the feeling Alice was the type who would want to see if paint was edible and cause a big mess playing with it. She made a note on her 'to do list' to get locks installed on all her art cupboards.

Family Reunions
Private RP with Lyregriffin.
Lyre: Lyre looked up at the large old house infront of her. The ancestrial home of the Faeson's brought back lots of bad memorys. She had come here without thinking after getting Kiris message telling her she was an aunt. Slowly she walked up the the front door wondering just how long it had been since she had run away from here determined never to come back.
Kiri: Alice playing in the yard caught a wiff of what smelled kinda like Mommy but not quite and coming from the front of the house when mommy was clearly in her studio. Curious she rounded the house and saw a new friend out the front. Thinking that it must be a friend since it smelt a bit like mommy and feeling bored Alice ran at the person and tackle hugged them.
Lyre: Lyre din't notice the little girl coming at her untill it was too late, so she did not have time to brace herself. Down she went with the little one hugging her. What had happened? Who was this ball of energy? What was going on?
"Kiri get your rear down here" Lyre yelled with all her might. Her temper fraying at being here she thought iritatedly "She had better have some very good answers or I am going to hide her sketch pad and any pencils I can find"
Kiri: Kiri blinked, Alice was no longer in the backyard and a bellow she hadn't heard in years was coming from the front of the house. She considered ignoring it for a while but Alice's disappearance worried her. Moving to the front of the house she leaned out of one of the windows to look down at the doorway.
Percieving that Alice had somehow figured Lyre for a friend and feeling mischeivious she calmly called down. "Lyre! whatever brings you to these parts?! Oh and Alice let your Aunty go so that she might get back up."
Lyre: Thats it her art supplys are so gone Lyre thought blackly. Then the second part of Kiri's coment sank in as the child, Alice?, let her go. Gingerly she stood up and looked down at her neice? Angerly she looked up at Kiri and with a voice full of ice comented "you had so better have a good explenation".
Kiri: Kiri smiled benignly down at her sister. "Now stop that, you're upsetting Alice." And true enough, sensing her new friends angry Alice was drooping. "Besides its not very dignified to be talking to each other through windows, why don't you come in? The front door isn't locked." Kiri wasn't too worried about her art supplied Alice should be enough of a distraction, if not two could play that game.
Lyre: "Your the one talking out a window" Lyre retorted. Then she looked down at Alice noting the ears and tail for the first time, A dog!?. As she could not bear to see children upset she smiled down at her as she asked her "shall we go in to the kitchen?"
Kiri: Oh no! Kiri thought, Mrs Potts would be so glad to see Lyre that she wouldn't pay enough attention to Alice. Quickly Kiri hurried towards the kitchen to prevent Alice from eating everything in sight. Mean while Alice seeing her new friend smile and mention kitchen was instantly happy again and pulled Lyre by the arm through the door and towards the kitchen.
Lyre: Lyre noted the quick look of worry on Kiris face as she dissapeared from the window, Interesting was there something in the kitchen she did not want Lyre or Alice to see? She did not have much time to wonder as Alice was pulling her inside. Sudenly she remembered her shoes were coated in dirt from the forest she had been in and the long treck here. "just one moment Alice while I get my shoes off".
Kiri: Alice couldn't really understand the delay between her and food, especially for something like shoes but her new friend probably knew best. All the same, if mommy got to the kitchen first she probably couldn't used most of her tricks. Deciding that her new friend probably just didn't understand the situation she grabbed and pulled her along ignoring the shoes.
Lyre: Lyre sighed, thinking of the mess she was making, then she smiled "old habits die hard, race you to the kitchen?" If Kiri wanted to get there first for some reason, well that was just too bad, she really shoulde'nt of gotten Lyre intothis type of mood. giving action to her words Lyre broke into a jog.
Kiri: Alice pleased with this turn of events raced towards the kitchen. Kiri turning a corner was just in time to see her sister and daughter race through the kitchen door. Mentally sighing she raced after them. At the very leased she could hopefully prevent Alice from causing too much trouble and eating too much. Meanwhile Alice now in the kitchen was focused on getting the max amount of food.
Lyre: As Lyre and Alice entered the kitchen Lyre stoppd still seeing a familiar person cooking. "Mrs Potts?" Then she looked around to see why Kiri had been worried, all she could see was normal kitchen things, and a verry happy Alice.
Kiri: Mrs Potts seeing Lyre let out a very strange shriek and dropped the bowl of cake batter she had been mixing onto the floor. "Mistress Lyre, why whatever are you doing here!?" She exclaimed as a very happy Alice attacked the bowl, starting with the contents still in the bowl, but also with a firm eye on what had dripped onto the floor.
Kiri rushing in ignored Mrs Potts and Lyre focusing on scooping up Alice and bowl. She could have the bowl Kiri supposed but she didn't want her to have the part which had fallen on the floor. Alice was a bit upset but she still had the bowl so things had turned out fairly good over all.
Lyre: Lyre smiled shily at Mrs Potts, she had forgotten how emotional she could be. "um, shoulde'nt you clean up the mess?" she asked hopping to divert her. "I mainly came for some answers from Kiri about a message she sent me." Lyre eyed her sister "We need to talk"
Kiri: Kiri sighed looking at the grubby cakey but very happy mess that was her daughter. Taking the hand that wasn't holding the bowl she headed out of the kitchen. As she went she commented "Mrs Potts, sorry to ask but would you mind cleaning up this mess, I don't want Alice to try and eat it. And Lyre why don't we go into one of the sitting rooms?" Well away from any more food she thought.
Lyre: Lyre winced, sitting rooms still haunted her memorys, reminding her of the days when people tried to turn her into an apropriate daughter of the family. "um, how about the garden?" or anywhere that did not have maners associated with it, she comented following her sister out of the kitchen and Mrs Potts cluches.
Kiri: Kiri mentally winced at the idea of combining Alice, cake batter and a garden but there wasn't really anything too dirty around the stone seats and as long as she had food Alice wouldn't pay attention to anything else so it should be fine. "Sure there is still those stone benches that you used to try and maim." Kiri said changing directions to head to the back door.
Lyre: "I din't try to maim them, I just found them to be verry usefull for all kinds of things. If one or two got a crack well thats just a side affect" Lyre looked at the messy Alice "she is cute, so how old is she?" she asked riseing an eyebrow.
Kiri: "So you say. She's about two weeks now, I think. Sorry I waited a little while before contacting you. Once she was grown things got a bit hectic. She was born on the 14th." They arrived at the stone benches and Kiri placed Alice firmly on one and sat next to her. Still focused on her misgotten gains Alice didn't mind, it was easier to eat this way.
Lyre: "TWO WEEKS! she looks more like two years!" Lyre looked again at Alice eating the cake batter. Carfully she sat down on a bench. "I think you had better start at the begining, I'm feeling lost right now."
Kiri: Kiri shrugged she'd had her fun. "You know that strange things sometimes pop up in Gaia well Alice is one of those. I don't know the full story but somehow the soul of a girl Labrador got stuck in a leaf from what's claimed to be Eden. That leaf found its way into my studio, I took it in and it grew into Alice. So now she's my daughter."
Lyre: Lyre did know about strange things happening in Gaia, and this explanation did clear things up. "So is simon still around? what does he think of my little neice? You do know you have some batter on your clothes now". Kiri was actually being a responcibe parent? Lyre wondered how long this would last.
Kiri: Kir made a face, she was glad these were fairly simple clothes so the stain should come out fine. "Yes Simon is still here, I don't really see why he wouldn't since I have all his books. He has mixed feelings about Alice, she's quiet, intellegent and likes having books read to her but can't concentrate enough to read herself. Mostly he keeps the door locked because she's too curious."
Lyre: Lyre looked around the garden, she had had some fun times out here, then she looked at the house. She had gotten her answers and now knew that her sister was not in some kind of danger, there was no more reason to stick around. "Well I should let you clean up, tell Simon I said hi and let Mrs Potts know I am sorry I can't stay".
getting up she patted Alice on the head, "guess I will have to pop in every now and then to see how you are getting on and so that you don't forget I exist". with that said she headed to the front of the house to get her bags.
Kiri: Kiri watching her go called, "Next time you want to visit let me know in advance, I'll meet you at a park instead." Alice looked up briefly wondering why her new friend was leaving so soon but food as always came before new friends.
