Resilience ruined the game.
There's no more drive to do PvE anymore. WOOHOO you downed a big bad boss, he dropped some phat purplez that will let you down ANOTHER big bad boss.
Take your purps into an arena and get wiped by people in gladiator set one. Total phail.

HARD CONCEPT TO UNDERSTAND, I KNOW.
Resilience FIXED THE GAME. A rogue, warrior, hunter, anything in any gear could crush the average/"casual" player JUST BY OUTGEARING THEM. Guess what? Pre-bc, caster spell damage gear at the dungeon 5 man level DID NOT EXIST. It BARELY existed at the casual MC level. Easily obtained spell damage gear came out just before the naxx patch if I remember, if not after it.
I know I am going to get owned by the pvp video of the mage in shitty blues and greens rocking everyone, but not everyone is highly skilled at this game. You have to admit that the average player is just that, average. Of course you will find some diamonds in the rough that do not have the time to play a lot and are very good, or that are undergeared and very good. But that is quite rare.
If loot is the only drive you have to pve, then you are either 1) a terrible player who rode on massively overgearing the competition pre-bc or 2) someone who I would never want to have in any of my raids, ever.
PS: the merciless gladiator gear, while not as good, is still quite good for pve healing. he was likely an awful player.
Nah, i'm a warrior who longs for the days when I could get 4 purples and kill anything. I've also done enough karas/gruuls/mags/SSCs/TKs to merit being able to do them while in my sleep, or dead. So I'm kinda tired of PvE, but don't have the self hatred to farm enough honor for gladiator gear.
