Koi wasn't sure what had just happened. She stood blinking at him, her purple eyes holding something within them that looked-startled and a bit... worried. She then crinkled up her nose and stamped her foot. After all, this male had just stolen her sister away, worried her half to death and popped up all happy and lovingly together? I see... She said simply, looking downwards... feeling ashamed that she had angered her sisters mate, her brother in law.
She gazed around and wondered where her sister was, and even though she was not sure what he meant about them having plenty to catch up on... but... she was ashamed that she had become overly protective again. She stood up and looking downcast, turned to leave.
I am glad... that she is no longer missing-and that she found someone she loves She said, blinking slowly. I am glad that she found someone like you dear... but I should... go... She said, not wanting to bother him anymore.
He just didn't understand... that all that Koi had in life was her sisters... and since they both seemed to be finding themselves males... and she was lonely... she would never become a proper mate-thus she did not try. She was a bit afraid... to lose her sisters. I should... I should go

Another lump caught in his throat, that made two. What was wrong with him? He had made his mates sister upset, and acted so rude to her. Maybe he would hurt Gurami, maybe Koi was right. He hadn't meant to sound so angry, he just wanted to get his point across.
"No...no, maybe I should go. I..I need a walk." He glanced up at Koi, forcing out a crooked smile. She was part of him now, she was his family and he had upset her. Maybe Gurami wasn't meant to be his mate, the gods made a mistake of some sort. His purple eyes swirled with trouble as he turned to drag his feet away. Not out of weariness this time, but out of shame. He glanced back and shrugged lightly.
"Maybe next time we meet, things won't get so cross. I promise." He forced out another smile before shuffling forward, his eyes glued to the ground in front of him. This certainly wasn't the meeting he had hoped for...

Koi also felt a horrible sense of uncomforted and wondered what she had done too this male, what she was making him think of her and her sisters. She took a slow step to wander away, but felt a sting of hurt and regret of she did. She stopped, turning too him. Wait... She said, padding quickly and swiftly and too the front of him, so he would have to stop. Her eyes pleaded with regret. I'm sorry... I shouldn't have said that-
It's just that... well-urm. I-I just... I am just trying to make sure... that... She paused and bit her lip, not sure how to say something she had never let anyone else know before-not even her sisters.I want my sisters to be happy... and to fall in love... and stay in love... and to-to never get hurt-like I did. She said, her head hanging as she felt waves of fear and worry... she was very afraid that-if her sisters found out... what had happened... that... they would never forgive her or be worried.
I fell in love with someone... but... I could not... make him happy like he wanted... I could not-I could not give him children... and he left me... because-I could not... have his babies. She said, her eyes tightly squeezed shut-not wanting to see how he would react. She was left, because of her loves silly reason... and it shamed her

A deep haze hung in the air as Koi explained. Banda's lungs felt tight, like it could pop. Love had always seemed like a silly thing to him as a child, never would he have guessed he would end up with a mate, but that wasn't the point. As a child, he had been taught that if two lions loved each other, they would want to make each other happy. They would want to have children, and extend the family. That was that, nothing was complicated or confusing, it was simple logic. But this was something Banda hadn't learned to deal with, infertility was a whole different story. Banda had always assumed those who were infertile had to be cursed in some way. They were either cruel and not worthy of young, or they had been cursed in a past life. But Koi...was Gurami's sister. His mate's sister couldn't be infertile! C-could she?
"I..d-did'nt...I had no idea... I'm sorry..."
He murmured dryly, the thoughts of this whole thing still swirling in his head. Banda had an answer for everything! Except this... He took a cautious step back before an anwser reached him.
"Did you love the male? Truly? Sometimes, fate intertwines with childbirth because there is someone out there for you. Perhaps this male, was not the one..."

Koi watched his reaction and felt her own nervousness and thoughts engulf her. She had been with with the male in secret, for a long time... she hid it from her sisters. Considering the circumstances of their pride. She gazed at him with sad purple eyes. THe only reason, that she ever was so protective of her sisters, was because she knew what it felt like to have a male hurt her. Yo couldn't have known Banda... no one does.
Yes.. I did love him very much.. but... I suppose his mind was set on more important things to him. Because I could not start a family and give him sons... So he left me alone and despaired... because no one wants a female who can't have children...
And. I have to make sure... that my sisters won't have the same fate as I. And.. I think you are a fine choice Banda.... you have a good head on your shoulders She said, gazing at her paws in order to hide her sadness and happiness. Happiness for her sister and sadness for herself

Tension seemed to fill Banda's bones. He understood that Koi was going through painful memories at the though her sister was falling in love and she had it taken from her, but why tell Banda? He head hung limp on his neck, eyes glued to the ground. How was he supposed to reply? Oh, sorry you got dumped by your true love. At least your sister has me? His head tilted as he tried to think of a response. Something to ease her pain, or at least encourage her.
"Sorry...A-and thank you." was all that came out. He felt like a fool, and like a jerk. How was he to sooth Gurami's pain when she felt said if he couldn't even say something comforting to her sister? His eyes finally glanced up from the hard, unmoved ground to meet Koi's.
"I swear, I promise you with all that is in me. I would never hurt Gurami like that. That male was stupid, and cared only for himself. You will find another, I know." Banda smiled thoughtfully, nodding. He didn't know rather to leave, or stay and talk more, so he just stared at her.

Koi gazed blankly towards the ground, her purple eyes blinking slowly and sadly. Her sisters were her only life now, even though her life with that male had been secret.. it had been her life. And now... even years after the incident... she found that she was alone while her sisters were gathering intrests. Perhaps the pride would make her feel better... just a little bit more like having a love. Right? Yes... Di bit appologize dear Banda... There is nothing to regret... for I have a good life... and sisters who are happy-a happy family.
She said, looking at him with a kind face. Her parted tail curled around her paws one final time, before she stood up and nodded her head too him. He was a good boy... and she looked foreward to calling him brother. I certanly hope so... but now.. I must attend to somethings. You should go too my sister dear Banda-
I look foreward to seeing you again-Brother. She said boldly, turning and walking away with a smile on her face. She was glad for her sister. She was lucky.
She found herself a desireable male
